Food quality is praised as excellent by several reviewers, with some highlighting specific dishes like filet mignon and shrimp. However, many customers reported significant issues with service, including long wait times for seating despite reservations, mismanagement of reservations, and poorly managed staff communication. Several reviews mentioned unprofessional behavior from staff, leading to negative experiences, with one incident involving a bug in food and a dismissive manager. While some diners enjoyed the experience and food, others expressed disappointment and uncertainty about returning, noting that management changes may have negatively impacted the service quality. Overall, the restaurant has a mix of excellent food but inconsistent service that has deterred some longtime customers.

The food was excellent. First time going here for a birthday celebration. We had a reservation but still waited in the holding area about an hour. I thought this was odd, it would be nice to have a waiter working the holding area we would have ordered drinks. The building is in pretty rough condition. Decent service all around. Not sure the price equals the experience you get. 10/10 for the food absolutely wonderful, that’s really where they made up for the other shortfalls.

We have been coming here for years and this is now the second time we have made reservations, checked in, and had to wait almost an hour to be seated because our names never got put on a list when we checked in. Our reservations for tonight were at 7:30 and we did not get seated until 8:30. We did not get food until 9:15. Even with reservations you still now have to wait at least 30 minutes to get seated after your checkout time. Our Waitress Dianna A. had a very poor attitude and acted as if she hated being there. I, along with others at the table, did not get to have our salads because they were out of ranch which was very unfortunate but I’m sure had our names actually been put on the list like they should’ve, we would’ve been seated sooner and would’ve gotten to enjoy the salads as well as the rest of the food. The Chef was very quick and did not put on a show or do any fire, the food was not up to the usual high quality standard tonight. Extremely disappointed and sad since I have been coming here for years. Will definitely be taking my business to Kanpai or Tokyo in Winston because we have never had this type of service, much less the past few times and the food is just as good.

Really fun and entertaining experience, took the wife and two kids here, ages 13 and 7. Both picky eaters and each found they loved the meal(or parts that they would try) haha. Ordered cocktails and they were great not too much, all in all very good meal only 4 star on service because kept finding breakdown in communication between servers and entertaining chefs.

Celebrated my son's birthday with his wife and had the best filet mignon and shrimp dinner cooked right in front of us. We had a reservation and were called in to be seated on time. Very efficient friendly service and delicious food !

Have been a life long customer, now I’m not sure I’ll go back. Went for a 6:30 reservation, didn’t get seated until 7:20. Which was irritating but understandable as they were busy and can’t always control when other tables get up. 40 minutes roll around with still no chef in sight, I finally get up to speak with the manager who had no apology. Did not seem sympathetic, and did not offer to make it right although we had two young children with who were growing impatient and hungry. 10 more minutes go by with no chef at the table so we decided to leave. I am upset with how the new management decided to handle our situation.. if this is how Arigato will look going forward, we won’t return and I encourage all the other life long customers to think twice about this as well. All together we were there for 2 hours with no real service. Unacceptable.

Full transparency. I went to this restaurant for a family celebration knowing I'm allergic to shellfish. We mention it to the waitress, she explained the chef would accommodate and cook my meal first. Apparently the "head chef" refused to cook my meal separately and canceled my meal with out informing anyone. *also had the soup spilled in my lap by the waitress and very very noisey* Do not recommend although, it's safe to say I left with a clean plate.

This place was absolutely wonderful. Went with the family and they had a great time. We were sat with 2 other parties to make a total of 10 people to the table and it was still enjoyable completely. The food was amazing, everything was cooked perfectly and the portions were massive. Almost everyone had leftovers, and lots of them. I had the shrimp and salmon and I have zero complaints. My fiance had ribeye and grouper and he loved it so much. I can't wait to come back here!

Lisa the manager was extremely unprofessional there was a BUG IN MY FOOD and she said “it’s just a gnat” and then we walked out after leaving 60 bucks on the table and she chased up out telling us we had to pay for the drinks mind you we out 60 bucks on the table that should be enough to cover 4 drinks and a beer extremely disappointed in our service and Lisa was EXTREMELY unprofessional and frankly should lose her job after that. As someone who works in customer service I know how to act with a customer this woman clearly does not and after she saw the bug in the food she brushed it off as a bug MIND YOU IT WOULD NOT FLY AWAY it sat on my food for over 5 minutes during the whole situation that occurred the man making our food did lovely but the manager Lisa should not have her position there anymore and put waitress kept bringing out the wrong thing and we found paper in the soup and the waitress blamed it on another woman claiming she made the soup we come to this place often and to be treated like that we will not be returning. And I’ll attach the pictures and videos of the bug on my food.
