My husband an I went here for our 5 years wedding anniversary. Let just say I was so disappointed to say the least the restaurant is small, dark, gloomy and very outdated. The service was meh not what you’d expect for the price you’re paying. When I looked their menu over I wanted to get up and leave. The prices are high but we could’ve paid a little more and went to Ruth Chris or capital and got a far better atmosphere service and steak portion and flavor. The chicken Marsala tasted way better than my $100 20oz ribeye. I was so disappointed. The waiter kept calling us kiddos and he took a few pictures and said a curse word which we are ppl who do not use profane language. The chef comes out to speak once you get your meal but we didn’t know who he was as he didn’t introduce his self and neither did the servers. and he didn’t have good table side manners. He was very dry. We paid $189 for a bland ribeye steak and two chicken cutlets over linguine half of a potato and fried calamari oh and one cream soda. The twice baked potato was $10 for half a potato stuffed with bland chunky mashed potatoes. I paid $6 for garlic butter and $8 for chimichurri this place is for locals who grew up in the area not for a special occasion I’m just so up set I didn’t go to a better place I can make a better steak at home.

Vinnie’s Steak & Tavern serves some of the best steaks I’ve ever had—truly next level. Perfectly seared on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with a flavor that speaks to the quality of the meat and expert preparation. You can tell they take pride in sourcing and cooking their steaks right. The sides were the perfect complement, and the ambiance struck just the right balance between cozy and upscale. If you’re serious about a great steak, Vinnie’s is the place to go!

Went here with some friends for dinner. We had reservations and were seated quickly. The waitress was really good. The atmosphere and decor is so so. Wife is gluten free and they were pretty knowledgeable on that aspect. Had spinach dip and calamari for apps, both were delicious. I had the filet and lobster tail which was very good, steak and lobster tail were cooked perfectly. Wife had the Salmon which was overcooked as well as her risotto. The bill was pretty high, we had a couple of cocktails and it was north of 300.00. Between the overcooked meal and the atmosphere, it brought the rating down to 3 stars.

Was really impressed by this steakhouse! We’ve been touring the Triangle from a list of the Top 12 Steakhouses and Vinnie’s was our 5th experience from the list but by far amongst the top 2 we’ve eaten at in Raleigh. The other is a top contender for all the elements, but Vinnie’s blew us away with a personal visit from the head chef and general manager to our table, and the NY Strip tenderness and twice baked potatoes, along with stellar service. The menu has so much variety and wine pairings were perfect, along with the desserts. I made the reservation 3 hours before opening and accidentally only selected for 2 people with a 4 person party. The hostess immediately replied to my voicemail that it was corrected which was pleasantly surprising since the time was nowhere near close to opening. In terms of the interior, it was extremely clean, and what you would expect for a 30+ year old restaurant with updated interior design and a southern style. If you’re looking for flashy current fixtures, this is not going to be your thing. The best steakhouses on this list that we’ve experienced are those that put more emphasis on the food, pairings and service and old southern charm in the Triangle area. Vinnie’s hits all those things. Well done Vinnie’s! We will be back.

Every single time I've been, and I've been going to Vinnie's for many years now, Vinnie's proves over and over that they are the best restaurant in the triangle. The food is immaculate at reasonable prices, but what really stands out is the service. They treat you like literal family. Once you've been there once or twice, they know you by name, they'll know who your favorite server is, your preferred area of the restaurant to be seated in, etc. The managers, owners, and head chef will all come to check on you and make friendly conversation. This restaurant simply can't be beat, for just a random night out or a fancy special occasion dinner. 10/10 stars!

My wife and I had dinner last night to celebrate my birthday. It was a wonderful experience. Our server, Valentina, was very friendly and on-the-ball at all times. They first brought out the complimentary starter deviled eggs, which we found delicious and unique. We began with an order of the okra which is only in-season at this time of year. The portion was huge, so plan to share; the picture below shows an almost half-eaten portion. Being from NC, I consider myself an okra aficionado, and this is the best I have ever eaten. Then we shared the Beefsteak Tomato special, which was very fresh, unique, and wonderful. I had the Delmonico steak -- prepared and seasoned perfectly, with just the right amount of crust on the surface of the steak. Since it was my Birthday, they offered me a complimentary dessert, and I chose their Blueberry Crostini. Chef Tom Armstrong came out to chat with us, answered all my wife's questions about how he makes the okra, and he shared how he visits the Farmers Market to pick out the vegetables personally. He came back out after they delivered the Crostini to see how I liked it. We had a fantastic time. This is a very special place for special occasions.

The old-school vibe of this place is awesome. The steaks were cooked to perfection, great crust. Ordered a bunch of sides, and they were all on point too. And a nice bonus - 50% off wine bottles on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Service was top notch. Definitely recommend!

First timers at Vinnie’s and we will definitely become regulars. As New Yorker’s we have missed real Italian cuisine and we have found it here. Steaks we on point, the pasta al dente perfecto! Our waiter, Omar, was exemplary. Looking forward to our next visit.
