Customer Review Summary
Overall, reviews for Angus Barn are mixed. Many highlight the beautiful atmosphere, especially during the holiday season, with magical decorations and attentive service. Some guests, like Molly's table, experienced exceptional service that made them feel comfortable and happy. However, the food quality received criticism; some dishes, such as the garlic shrimp and seafood tower, didn't meet expectations given the high prices. Large portion sizes were noted, but they often lacked flavor and attention to detail. Despite the food shortcomings, several reviewers recommend the restaurant for its ambiance and special occasion celebrations. The steak and certain appetizers, like the ribs and Tomahawk, were praised for their quality and flavor. Service was described as friendly, though there were occasional delays. Overall, Angus Barn is seen as a place worth visiting, especially for its atmosphere, but diners should manage their expectations regarding the food quality.

This was my second time at Angus Barn. I had such a better experience than last time overall and mostly with my server. Molly did such an amazing job in making us feel happy and comfortable and also she kept checking in on us with a smile every time. She recommended the beef ribs and they were such a great choice!! I really enjoyed the whole meal. I definitely recommend going when it’s Christmas time too but overall the second floor was so cute. Had nice lights and a good view. I’m definitely going to be eating there again.

The atmosphere at Angus Barn is undeniably spectacular, especially during the holidays. The Christmas decorations and lights made the setting feel magical, and we were able to get in at the turkey lounge, even given the typical long wait times. However, the food did not live up to the hype or the price point. I ordered the shrimp, and it was completely overwhelmed with garlic. There was no mention on the menu of the shrimp being marinated in garlic, and it was so heavily coated that it masked any other flavors. Additionally, the mushrooms were served cold, and the mashed potatoes had no flavor, very disappointing for a high-end dining experience. It felt like they prioritized quantity over quality when it came to the food. The portions were large, but the taste and attention to detail weren’t there. For the premium prices they charge, I expected much more. On a positive note, the service was decent. The staff were attentive and friendly, but overall, the experience didn’t justify the cost. I would recommend visiting for the ambiance, especially during the holidays, but temper your expectations when it comes to the food.

A staple of Raleigh and a must-visit during the festive season—it’s simply magical! We are huge fans of the Turkey Lounge. It offers a slightly different menu but the same exceptional service. Our tradition is to split a steak, with each of us getting our own stuffed potato. Pro tip: Ask for extra fixings—you can never have too much butter! 🧈 On this visit, we started with the ribs appetizer, and my husband fell in love. We even purchased a jar of their sauce to bring the incredible flavors home. The best hidden gem? The house wine. Trust us—you won’t regret it! 🍷 After dinner, indulge in a fine whiskey. Their extensive selection of spirits is impressive, and it’s the perfect way to cap off the night. Don’t forget to take some time to enjoy the decor—there’s so much to see! 🎄✨

Angus Barn is truly an exceptional dining experience in Raleigh! From the moment you walk in, the warm and rustic atmosphere sets the tone for a memorable evening. The steaks are the star of the show—cooked to absolute perfection and bursting with flavor. Every bite is a testament to the quality of the ingredients and the skill in the kitchen. The sides and appetizers, like the cheese and crackers starter, are equally impressive, and the desserts, especially the chocolate chess pie, are a perfect way to end the meal. The wine cellar is really good, offering an incredible selection to pair with your meal. For those celebrating a special occasion, Angus Barn goes above and beyond to make it unforgettable. The only downside was the service, which was a bit slower than expected. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, there were noticeable delays that could have been improved. That said, the incredible food and atmosphere more than made up for it. If you’re looking for top-notch food and a unique dining experience, Angus Barn is still a must-visit in Raleigh!

Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion! We ate in the Turkey Lounge, suggest getting there early to get your name on the list. Highly recommend going when it is decorated for Christmas, it is gorgeous! Plenty of space to wait out front in the enclosed patio area with bar service and free cheese and crackers! Food was delicious, and staff is all very courteous and professional. Worth the cost!

We come here every few years- only because of the price. This time we got 2 steaks and had to send one back because it was flavorless, and we were disappointed. Our server- Melanie, and a manager made sure to see if there was anything they could do, but honestly, we had appetizers and crackers and cheese, so we didn't ask for a replacement. Good experience overall. I did do the Wine sampler, that was definitely worth the price. I had the option to pick from MANY wines to sample. I was disappointed with how my choices tasted to me, but it was a fun experience!

The most beautiful and magical place to eat during the holidays. So worth the wait. The staff was so so friendly. Our waitress never left us waiting or wanting anything. Even though there was a wait, we enjoyed sitting in the front lobby/bar area while enjoying a few cocktails. The decorations were top notch! Always new ones! I deducted a star for 2 reasons. 1- people were told that there was a 3 hour wait for walk ins. I totally understand that however, I saw several tables, couches, and seats at the bar(which were all reserved for walk-ins and you had to be seated by a hostess) left empty for 30-40 minutes. Someone could have been seated instead of leaving them unoccupied for that long. 2. We were really disappointed with the seafood tower. Definitely NOT worth $70! Picture included. The lobster tails were really tough, the lump crabmeat was full of shells and no horseradish for the oysters. We also didn’t get any crackers, cheese and olives like everyone else. On the upside… we got the 2.5 lb Tomahawk with salads and fries. That made up for the seafood tower falling short. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. The fries! The fries were unlike any I’ve ever had. You don’t think of ordering fries at an upper scale restaurant but please! If you like fries, you won’t be disappointed!
