Customer Review Summary

The Palm - Charlotte offers a consistently enjoyable dining experience with great service and delicious food. Many reviewers praised the attentive and friendly staff, highlighting memorable dishes such as melt-in-your-mouth bacon, creamy lobster ravioli, perfectly cooked sea bass, and flavorful chicken parmesan. The ambiance is described as fantastic, creating the perfect setting for special occasions. Some diners did encounter issues with the quality of certain dishes, such as a poorly cooked NY strip steak, which affected their experience as they felt it did not meet expectations for the price. While the overall feedback is positive, there is mention of some service delays and room for improvement to elevate the dining experience to match its upscale reputation. The Palm remains a recommended choice for those seeking a classic fine-dining experience in Charlotte.

I have been to the Palm in chicago and the Palm in charlotte was equally great in service and food. We were here for our wedding anniversary and the staff were awesome, attentive and sweet. Our food came on time and everything was great. Drinks were good as well. Overall lovely experience, nothing to complain against. Our dessert was on the house for our anniversary, which we appreciated. Thank you The Palm for a lovely experience, we will definitely be back.

Update 3-1-2025 Another amazing meal. The bacon was, as always, melt-in-your-mouth amazing. The crab cake tasted great and was well formed and delicate. The lobster ravioli was overwhelmed by the cream sauce that went over it which is okay because that cream sauce was one of the best flavors of the meal, and that's saying something. For my salad, I got the Iceberg Lettuce Wedge which is a full size salad, large enough for a meal by itself. The combination of bacon, toasted walnuts, tomatoes, fried onions, and large chunks of bleu cheese was out of this world. (The picture doesn't show a Wedge salad because I had it chopped.) For my entree, I got two entrees: The Shrimp Saute, a buttery shrimp linguini with garlic bread, and the 12oz Filet, medium rare with no topping. The combination of the shrimp, linguine, the scampi-esque sauce, the filet, together with a sip of the Bordeaux that I brought was the best thing I tasted today and one of the best combinations I can ever recall. Bravo! (FYI - corkage fee is $35) If you're interested in recreating the flavor I experienced, the wine that I brought was an 1855 2nd growth and current Grand Cru vineyard - Chateau Durfort-Vivens (Margaux). 2016 vintage. Joey and Mary were incredible and courtesy of The Palm our table received a tiramisu and a cheesecake which we had with espressos and was a great ending to an extraordinary meal. Original Review: The chicken parmesan was crispy and the sauce had a lot of flavor. The crab cake, thick cut bacon, and prosciutto appetizers were a great way to warm up our appetites. The wine paired well with the steak and the pasta. Our server was extremely helpful. The tiramisu with a glass of McCallan 18yr was divine.

Last night, we had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at The Palm! The atmosphere was fantastic, creating the perfect setting for a great night out. The food was delicious—our favorites were the perfectly cooked Sea Bass, the rich and flavorful Bolognese, and the crispy, tender Calamari. Every dish exceeded our expectations! Our server, Mo, was the greatest—attentive, friendly, and made our evening even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be coming back!

NY strip ordered medium rare came out medium well, almost well. Had a strange odor and texture. I did not return it since we were with a group. Could not eat it, and the little I had made me ill. I seriously thought it may have fallen on the floor and then served to me. Service was very good, but there are many better steak houses in Charlotte. Avoid. By the way, a 4.4 review average is not high.

We recently tried The Palm in Charlotte and had an average experience. The restaurant has a classic atmosphere with a decor to match but is somewhat loud, making conversation a bit difficult. The staff was friendly and professional, the service could’ve been better but it was slow, which hurt from the overall experience. The food, however, was decent and the quality was there but for the price, I expected more. The Lobster Gnocchi and Palm Caesar Salad were favorites, and the Center Cut Filet was cooked to order though some dishes lacked the bold flavors expected at this price point. We ordered the New York Cheesecake with caramel sauce ended the meal on a high note. Still, compared to other upscale dining options in Charlotte, such as Del Frisco’s or Eddie V’s, The Palm falls just shy of delivering a truly remarkable evening. If you’re looking for a classic fine-dining experience, The Palm remains a solid option, especially for special occasions. However, some service improvements could elevate the experience to match its high-end reputation.

Decided to celebrate our early valentines day with dinner at The Palm. Had reservations made, and upon arrival, we were notified we had to wait a few to get seated. No biggie at all. We finally were sat and were immediately greeted by our server, Tony. He was very attentive throughout our whole dinner. He even let us know the kitchen was a little behind, so we should put our order in soon so we weren't kept waiting long. We ordered the fried calamari, which was DELICIOUS! We also ordered the 8oz ribeye steak, and it was the perfect amount to split between my husband and I. It was perfectly cooked and was DELICIOUS! Best tasting steak we have had in a while. We ordered the Mac and cheese and fries as our sides. Theac and cheese had a grill taste to it which I thought was weird but it was still delicious and the fries, OMG "Chefs kiss" they had just the right amount of crisp to it just how I like it. Overall, the best experience. The ambiance was expected, and everyone was super attentive and friendly. Will def. Be back for sure. Definelty recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or just in general. This is located in Phillips Place with complimentary valet parking or parking spaces at other shops around as well at the atla parking garage in the back.
