The Standard Restaurant and Lounge

Very nice and cozy interior and ambiance, makes you feel like you took a trip back in time. The overall service was good, but not what I would have expected from an establishment such as this one. The food itself was quite pleasant, would recommend the bacon wrapped scallops, one of the best appetizers I have had. The main course was nothing to write home about, Mac and Cheese was subpar at best.

Welcome back Jacks and Jills (just watched that movie) it's ya boy Vin Vin and I have another review for you. We have frequented this establishment for sometime, there was a point that we were going there at least once a week. Food was always on point and delicious. We loved our servers and almost always came back when they were there. Then we had a horrible experience with our cocktails tasting like tin, the food not being 100% on point which pissed me off because it's not cheap to eat there. So we gave it a break and in my mind I swore I would never go back. I was being dramatic cause let's be serious that Calamari and honestly everything I ate was always good. So fast-forward to last night.. this was the second time I went back on the "Standard comeback tour" and while it was extremely busy, the food was on point and we had great service. Drinks took a little long as the bar was swamped... I meanwe got our apps and our meal before our first adult libation. That's the first time that has happened, and I blame that on the amount of people not the establishment itself. I remembered to take pics of the apps, the calamari and the app tasting sampler. They were both great... Meals were great too the sliders and the short rib burger were on point. Long story short, everyday is not everyone's day, so if you like a place and they disappoint you .... Just try it again. Then if they suck, well break off with them. The Standard was like a partner, someone I felt married too, then I had to separate from them, only to reconcile because of all the good times!! I'm happy I did. Go to the Standard, enjoy the food, the service and drinks. Vin Vin approves.

Blue cheese crusted filet was cooked to perfection and incredible price. The blue cheese crust was very prevalent and just paired so well with the steak and the wine I had. Just absolutely well done. Great service as well.

What's the price to have the best dumplings, and a pretty good scallop dish. Normally I take a picture but I think I wiped it out before I can pull my camera out it was just too good and I was too hungry!!!

Stopped in for lunch on our way to Lake George. Greeted immediately and sat at the bar. Bartender was just the right amount of friendly. Food came after 5 or 10 minutes and was delicious. Restaurant is very clean, and the bar and liquor are attractively lighted. Al the customers, including my wife and myself were very happy. The bill was a lot less than expected. We shall return.

We were seated quickly and we ate the complimentary warm bread while we looked over the menu (lots of options!) I ordered a candied pecan and cranberry salad made with fresh mixed greens and endive--very large portion and probably the best salad I've ever had! I also ordered a cocktail--a Tom Collins, which turned out to be a perfect blend of refreshing with a little dab of sour and topped off with a cherry--it was delicious. My wife ordered scallops with risotto, and that was our only complaint was that the scallops were priced a little too high dor what was served-- her scallops appeared to be deep fried and were rubbery. The accompanying risotto was decent portion size, but lacked a little flavor. The service was excellent and we walked out feeling full and had a great experience! After shopping, we even came back for a few drinks at the bar!

Fantastic meal. Took our daughter there for her birthday and she got filet mignon, her mom got shrimp scampi and I got a rack of baby back ribs. We all loved it, perfectly prepared and great service. We live 3 hrs away but I would come back for sure

Service was great. The food serving size was large and arrived quickly. Pricing was as expected. The bathrooms were a mess which is why the star for Atmosphere is lower. Overall a good experience here for dining in at a booth seating. Did not try out the bar seating or table.
