This restaurant is one of the top three I’ve ever been to. The old fashioned menu is simple yet nicely varied. They serve a full menu on Thursdays and Fridays, which includes chateaubriand, prime rib, lamb chops, pork chops, shrimp scampi, etc., and only chateaubriand and prime rib on Saturdays. The appetizers were very flavorful and complemented each other well. We ordered shrimp cocktail, which had huge shrimp and potent cocktail sauce, mozzarella and roasted red peppers, stuffed hot cherry peppers, and smoked salmon. I could’ve eaten two of each. Then came the soup or salad. You’re a fool if you eat meat and order the salad instead of the beef soup. It’s arguably the best soup I’ve ever had. Drum roll please 🥁…the chateaubriand…don’t let the simplistic presentation and “boiled dinner” appearance trick you, which belie the wonderful flavors of the sweet carrots, roasted potatoes, and most succulent beef tenderloin that you can literally cut with just a fork. In fact the only two utensils I used were the soup spoon and fork. The cherry on top was the banana cream pie. I’m no connoisseur of banana cream pie, but it was good, albeit unnecessary at that point in the meal. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention our server extraordinaire and 3rd generation owner Bobby, who was very attentive and great at upselling. Don’t question him. Just nod and say yes please. Not to come off as pretentious, but this place doesn’t even have a menu for their food, so price can be of no concern if you make a reservation. Just be prepared to open your wallet if you eat there, but I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed!

John was the best waiter ever. So fun and engaging. The food was phenomenal, of course we pre ordered the chateau briand. From the drinks to dessert they hit ever mark.

Bear Steakhouse came across my radar when I was searching steakhouses located in Upstate New York. The majority of customers/reviewers gave the establishment positive remarks. Being a skeptic, I decided to reserve a table and see what the rave was about. The inside of the restaurant is reasonably smaller compared to other steakhouses that I have been to. However, this is beneficial to the customers, as the staff is able to tend to everyone's needs. Both the waiter and waitress were very familiar with the menu. Being a new guest myself, I welcomed their recommendations. During my time at Bear Steakhouse, I had the Fresh Mozzarella with Roasted Peppers and Tomatoes, the Beef and Vegetable Soup, and the Prime Rib. All three plates were very delicious and they arrived to the table in a spread out time. This was good as it allowed the time to enjoy and digest every dish. Although I didn't have enough room for dessert, I did order the Tiramisu to go. This also did not disappoint. In the end, I'll admit that the reviewers were not exaggerating when they posted their stories about Bear Steakhouse. I look forward to my next meal here.

We were there to celebrate a 45th Wedding Anniversary. The appetizers, soup, and entree were incredible. The special occasion homemade lemon mousse cake, homemade cheesecake with caramel, coconut cream pie and chocolate cake were other worldly. John, our Server, (Owner) was amazing, attentive, fun and couldn’t have done more to ensure a delightful and memorable dining experience. The staff were all great, too. We took food and deserts home. There were seven of us! Why have we not been here before???!!!

The Chateaubriand was perfectly cooked. You get a lot of beef. Between my wife and mom we ate about 6-7 slices (me eating the most). I weighed our beef leftovers when I got home and it was over 2 pounds 😂. It was perfect for leftovers the next day with home-made rice and shrimp scampi. On a side note my wife has hosted an event here for 30 people and the guests loved it. Kudos to this family for such an amazing restaurant for multiple generations.

I mean, in every aspect hospitality is defined right here at Bear’s. Family owned, with family value. You’re home and having a Sunday meal with family. That’s the vibe 😍

This was our first time going and I'm not sure how to even describe the experience. Everything over amazing is a understatement. We had the chateaubriand dinner for four. Appetizers soup and salad. Had to bring dessert home with big portions of left overs. 5 stars dosent justify the entire experience. We had john for our server and again. 5 stars isn't close. He was fantastic and made the experience that much more fulfilling. Absolutely found our new long-term favorite place for dinner. MAKE RESERVATIONS IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY! Bears steakhouse thank you all for a wonderful dinner and time.
