This was a three top lunchtime visit to Charlie's on the Lake. There were only two or three other occupied tables in the entire restaurant, so it was not busy at all. We ordered the edamame as an appetizer, and for our mains, fish and chips, seafood enchiladas, and the filet, cooked medium. The edamame was steamed to perfection and delicious. One of our party, however, did notice that our entrées sat for about five minutes before our server was seen running to get them to us, so for that reason, we dropped a star. The filet was done to a beautiful medium rare and served with steak fries. The fish and chips were golden and not dry, but the tartar sauce was lacking a flavor profile. We suggest adding some roasted red pepper and basil and lemon juice with a little onion and cornichons for texture. The seafood enchiladas were very rich and topped with a copious amount of cheese. They were good, but the oregano inside overwhelmed what seafood flavor there was and was the dominant flavor aside from the cheese. Overall, a good experience. We'll come back again.

Charlie's on the lake is amazing! The Mother's Day brunch buffet was wonderful. The buffet had a nice variety of food. It was fresh and hot. The customer service was out of this world. Our waitress was so attentive and friendly. You really enjoyed Charlie's on the lake and we will definitely be returning.

The place is great, the location is nice. Appetizers are good. But when it came to my ribeye steak it was the nasty none flavor pice of leather i had ever tried. They have the nerves to charge $40 for it. I will never be there asking for anything else, but appetizer and drinks. I have a pic of my dog eating but not going to post.

The outside dining area is beautiful, but those are just about the only praises I can have for this place! We waited over an hour for our food, with little to no service from our waitress. When our food finally came out, the shrimp was good but everything else was disappointing. The asparagus in the California pasta was barely cooked, and was crunchy and grassy and the scallops tasted microwaved. Very chewy, tough, and fishy. I really just can't recommend them for the price.

Went to Charlie’s for lunch with 4 adults, two of which are picky eaters, and two young children. Everyone at the table absolutely loved what they ordered from the salads to the lobster roll. I had the Creole Grouper and it was beyond excellent. $17 for the lunch menu includes a drink and for what you get is extremely affordable, most sports bars are $14+ for a sandwich without a drink and it’s all the same sports bar style food. It’s a day later and we’re still planning on when we’ll be back. Atmosphere was romantic and cozy with white tablecloths and “proper service from the right” instead of just plopping down plates and drinks. Normally I would have anxiety about bringing small children to a nicer establishment, but Charlie’s was very accommodating and there were other tables with small children as well. Their happy hour menu looks extremely reasonable and there is a side bar you can visit without going to the dining room. We have been in Omaha just over 3 years and looking for something different and we found one of our new favorite restaurants in Omaha.

I always read reviews but seldom leave them; however I felt like this was justified! The food we ordered was fantastic! The salads, bread, and main courses from prime rib to chicken piccata…everything was made very well. Highly recommend the onion rings as an appetizer as well! The atmosphere was nice and quiet, and the outside seating area looked beautiful, we just went during late fall so a little too chilly. Our server was on top of our myriad of drinks and was very responsive. We will go back!

The food used to be excellent - like legit some of the best in Omaha. Now - it's not even close to being worth the price ($23-$45 for an entree). We ordered the salmon and vegetables, and the salmon was really undercooked. The service was excellent and they removed the entree from the bill - and also gave us some desserts as an apology, so it was much appreciated. Would recommend avoiding, sadly.

The lunch menu red-eye grouper, shrimp cocktail and clam chowder were very good. Good service. Very reasonable price and fast. Great for lunch.
