When I came in, they had sat me in a undesirable area. I simply asked the waiter if I could be moved, and he was overly eager to help me and get me to a nice area right by the fireplace. It was on Valentine’s Day. I was with my date. It made me feel amazing. A part of the reason why we go out is not just for the food it’s also for the atmosphere and they were 100% spot on when the steaks came out. They were absolutely perfect cooked to perfection… I eat a lot of steaks so I can tell you that this steak was 100% perfect…. They gave my date a rose on Thanksgiving. It was something I had forgot so they actually took care of me in ways. I can’t describe absolutely perfect. I will come back and I certainly think is an amazing place to take your date.

Nostalgia and history. Love the surrounding walls with countless celebrity fans. Very basic salad but I diced up the side of peppers and tomatoes to kick it up a notch. Good pickles. Bread is unique to this establishment, never had anything like it. Toasty and char grilled smoky. Will get a side of butter next trip. Loved it! Basic baked potato with butter and sour cream, perfectly cooked. Salt, pepper and a little chimi sauce pushed it up a notch. Filet was cooked medium rare, just barely, but it was delicious. Cooked much more would have started drying the outside of this thick cut. Spumoni Ice Cream dish polished off a great meal.

The service is always top notch when I go there. The food quality has changed. The salad was plain iceberg lettuce. I added the pickles and peppers to it to add some flavor and make it more appetizing. The filet mignon was charred too much for medium well. Seemed to have a salty taste. Presentation needs work too. It's ok to have the foil on the baked potatoe, but don't put packaged butter and sour cream on the plate. Bring in it out on a side dish. Just my preference. Everything else atmosphere, friendliness, service, prices and courteous staff are excellent!

I’m sad to be writing such a poor review. I had such high hopes after seeing all of the ratings. First of all, it’s a cute old fashioned kind of place and I liked the live band they had, Midas Touch. It was fun to have a dance floor and be able to dance. I liked the cute booth we were sat in and I liked the vibe of the restaurant. The rest of the experience was not so great. I didn’t expect for the marinated pickles to be my favorite food of the dinner. My husband enjoyed the tomatoes and peppers that came with the pickles as well. So meal started very promising. The bread came and it was ok. I usually like char flavor, but it was too much. The brown bread was almost inedible due to the burnt flavor. The bread was enhanced for me by dipping it in the marinade for the pickle plate and the Italian dressing (which I think was the same dressing) which I liked. The salad was so…sad. I actually laughed for a long time when it came out. It was just a plate of cut up iceberg lettuce. I tried to fix it by tearing up a piece of the bread and adding it to the salad, which did make it a little more enjoyable and less sad. I was so exited for the walleye. I got the broiled and a baked potato. The walleye had absolutely no flavor. It didn’t taste like anything. The potato was also bland, and I’m usually one for just being good with adding butter to a baked potato. I had to add so much salt to the fish and baked potato to make them semi-edible. I was hoping dessert could save the experience, but no. The spumoni ice cream was ok in flavor, but tasted freezer burnt and had a lot of ice crystals. The cannoli was fine. My husband had the steak which he said was pretty good. So all in all, if you want a charred steak I would maybe go here, but I think there are better places. I would say the demographic it serves (mostly WASPS) from what I could see is probably happy with the food. It’s a no for me though, especially for the price.

AMAZING!!! The Mancini's are the BEST hosts! You always feel welcome and at home! Vicky was our server and she was top-notch all the way!

I met Pat the owner while dining Friday night for the first time. Jenny our server was fantastic! I had the NY, baked potato, salad, and a couple of long island iced teas (been 20+ years since I've had that drink). Everything was top tier yet at a very reasonable price. My favorite new steakhouse in St. Paul. Ohh and the mountain of garlic bread they include is epic and charred perfectly! Sorry no photos, I fasted and was too hungry!
