801 Chophouse, a classic chophouse located in downtown Nicolette Mall, offers a sophisticated atmosphere with decor that celebrates the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area. The service was excellent, beginning with the coat and hat check. We were seated promptly, and our server, Patrick, provided outstanding service, maintaining an outstanding seamless pace. We started with the small seafood tower, which featured exceptionally jet-fresh seafood. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, achieving an incredible Pittsburgh char from the 1500-degree cooking process. Overall, 801 Chophouse provided a wonderful upscale dining experience and ranks near the top on my list of steakhouses throughout the country and I highly recommend it.

Our waiter Tyler truly made the night memorable. The showcase of excellent meat options was incredibly interesting and only overtaken by the incredible taste and preparation of everything. The lobster Mac and beef tartare were absolutely perfect. My Delmonico steak with Foie Gras will be a dish I remember for a long time. The Hot Toddy from the bar was an excellent drink and quintessential for these cold nights. Cannot recommend this place enough.

My husband and I came to Minneapolis to watch some baseball. The last night we were in town he got a reservation at 801 Chophouse. It was fabulous. The atmosphere was incredible. Our waiter, Patrick gave us the history of the place and it was very interesting. We ordered drinks, an Old Fashioned and an Indigo Violet. He brought out some warm Sour Dough for the table and then brought out a meat cart. He showed us all the different cuts of meat that were available and talked about how long they were aged. We ordered prosciutto wrapped Scallops for an appetizer and they did not disappoint. The sides that they offer are 'family style' and meant to be shared (they also offer half sizes). My husband ordered the filet with mushroom ragout with a side of scalloped potatoes and I got the 1/2 lb lobster tail. We shared the entire meal. It was cooked perfectly. We also got dessert which was apple bread pudding. So delicious. It was a wonderful experience and if we ever come back, this is a do not miss for us!

3rd time here, went for valentines dinner 2 days after Valentines but that same weekend and was wowed. From the hostess taking our coats. Flowers in the foyer, they recognized we were celebrating Valentine’s Day and made sure the table was decorated, surf and turf was perfect, chop salad and scallops 💋out server so conscientious! Santiago made sure our dinner was perfect. This is our go to special occasion spot.

We were visiting Minneapolis from the UK for work, and our host arranged lunch here, just across the road from our hotel. I didn't have any preconceptions (I didn't know 801 was a chain), but I would definitely recommend this place. Service was impeccable, and the food was excellent (good enough to write home about). We had the Caesar sald to start, and then I had the 6 oz filet mignon while my partner had chicken - it was the best thing we'd eaten since we'd arrived in Minneapolis a few days earlier.

If you want a great steakhouse experience go here. This was everything i wanted and more. Started with mussels snd a caesar salad. Mussels were cooked perfext in a white wine garlic broth and the salad was the way a caesar sald should be. Really good dressing and really good crutons. Got the filet mignon probably had the best sear ive ever had on a filet. Obviously its a leaner cut so a good sear can be difficult. This was above and beyond. Perfectly cooked just ooey gooey buttery meaty goodness. Scalloped potatoes are divine. The potatoes are sliced so thin yet its cooked perfectly. The balance of cheese snd cream and crust is right on. Green beans have big chunks of bacon lardon and is extremely Smokey. I will get something else next time. The service is good but dont have jason take care of you He’ll hit on you all night Lovebomb you and then ghost you. I dont remember the other staff name but everyone was really cool. When i come to minneapolis this will be a go to spot for sure. They also have chocolate soufflé on the menu which im like omg.

We had an amazing time here. Delmanico bone in ribeye was delish 😋 Halibut was okay. Creamed corn and Mac also very good! Our server from Miami, forgot his name was very knowledgeable and attentive, thank you!

Best steak I ever had. The bread they give you is also some of the best I've ever had - I would normally not callout free bread, but it was that good. Service was amazing and there wasn't a bad thing we ate. Be prepared to shell out some bills as it isn't a cheap place. But you pay for quality. Would definitely recommend!
