FORMERLY FANTASTIC, CURRENTLY COMMON Murray’s is somewhere I go for a nostalgic solid steakhouse meal. My parents got engaged there and many a nice meal has been had in their gorgeous dining room. Unfortunately, the Murray family has lost some of their muster on delivering consistent quality meals. The garlic toasts I dream about were stale this time and tasted like they had freezer burn. French onion soup was a 9/10 and would’ve been perfect if it had been served to me piping hot. My steak was overcooked and barely warm when served to me (medium rare requested). The creamed spinach had ZERO seasoning and very little spinach in it. Same goes for the bland scalloped potatoes. They were almost good… Service was exceptional. Murray’s is sadly no longer worth the money and y’all should seek out a better option.

We enjoyed coming to Murray's very much. The chateaubriand for two was super tender and flavorful and almost too much meat. Maybe the most delightful surprises were the szechuan green beans, which were sweet and spicy, and Caesar salad with optional anchovies. I love anchovies. Server was down to earth, which I appreciate in places like this.

Among everything I have eaten, majority of it is very salty, which is what has ultimately contributed to my rating. However, flavor aside I will say that the texture is consistently on point, from the crab cakes to the tenderloin steak. I still had a great experience and I would recommend this establishment as a solid steakhouse for those that are looking for good steak. My friend and I got the chateaubriand for two, and proceeded with French onion soup and asparagus for the sides. The French onion soup had very soft caramelized onions along with cheese that formed a strong layer to maintain the hotness. It was very salty, so I kind of did something taboo and quickly poured some water in it and it worked beautifully in both making it cooler and less salty. The asparagus wasn't salty, but was in contrast kind of plain, which wasn't a problem because asparagus just tasted good regardless. The tenderloin was indeed very tender and cooked perfectly medium rare! I felt like the outside had a bit too much salt, probably because it was seasoned with additional salt after the steak was cooked. Still, I definitely enjoyed it. By checking in to Yelp, I also obtained a coupon for a chef's choice desserts, which was ice cream with caramel on top of a piece of browning, and it tasted very good. I was happy about having a free dessert at all. Overall, I am happy that I have given Murray's a try even if I don't really eat steak, especially because it was around my birthday time and I tried something new!

The service & atmosphere are great. I like my steaks rare & the couple of times I have been here they have failed to deliver the perfect rare steak. The garlic bread, french onion soup, creme brulee are great but as far as steak is concerned there are better options in this city.

Could I give Murray’s six stars? What a lovely evening. We made reservations (recommended) and dined there to celebrate my partner’s birthday. The atmosphere is old-school classy, cozy and intimate — perfect for a date night or any celebration. All the staff was friendly, skilled and attentive. Our server, Alyssa, was wonderful and took amazing care of us. She also answered our questions about photos adorning the dining room walls and was able to share some Murray’s lore — made the experience even more interesting for a couple of history buffs like us! Back to the service — top-notch from start to finish. From the hostess who greeted and seated us to the gentleman who swept our empty dishes away, everyone was professional and seemed to take great pride in their work. Our glasses were never empty, every course of our meal was timed nicely and Alyssa carved our steak table side with finesse. And oh, what a steak — perfectly grilled, tender and delicious. I’ll probably dream about it! We selected Brussels sprouts as our shared side; they were topped with a sweet chili sauce that was excellent. The bread basket was a nice touch as well and the Asiago rolls were especially good. Birthday folks are treated to a mammoth slice of chocolate cake topped with a generous scoop of Sebastian Joe’s vanilla ice cream. He enjoyed it immensely while I had creme brûlée which was fabulous. All in all, we had a lovely evening, will definitely go back again and will not hesitate to recommend Murray’s to others. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

My colleague from another company suggested this is where we have dinner. She lives local, gotta trust the locals recommendation. We made reservations a little early as there was a convention in town and knew it was going to be packed! Everything was delicious, I only took a picture of the pie though. The steak was cooked medium rare as I requested. I love veggies they were cooked and seasoned and yummy. By the time we received our food the restaurant was nearly full. Absolutely would go back.

First time in Minneapolis. We were staying in City Center and the night we arrived, randomly chose to dine at Murray’s. There were four of us, and we all got different menu items. I got the ribeye, and Murray’s is now number one in my book; the new standard by which I judge all other ribeyes. The Chateaubriand for Two was also hams, and I had a couple of bites; I would get this next time. The cocktails were excellent and the service was perfect. Our server, Abby, was exceedingly gracious. Thanks Murray. Hope to see you again some day. P.S. The Key lime pie was the best I’ve ever had.

We tried this restaurant while visiting Minneapolis from Los Angeles. We ordered the ribeye steak and pork chop with a side of mashed potato and Caesar salad. The ribeye was absolutely delicious and great quality meat. I wasn't a fan of the pork chop. It didn't have much flavor and it had no salt!! We also ordered the raspberry pie with a scope of ice-cream and that was delicious. Our server was Austine and he was super nice and helpful. The rest of the staff and the atmosphere were also really good.
