Customer Review Summary
Service is inconsistent, with some servers attentive while others seem neglectful. Food quality varies; while some reviewers praise the steak and sides, others find items like creamed spinach and overcooked steaks disappointing. Many guests mention long waits for food and plates, leading to frustrations especially on special occasions. The ambiance is generally appreciated, being upscale but with some guests noting a lack of adherence to the dress code. Several reviews highlight specific staff members for their great service, yet overall managerial responsiveness seems lacking. Some guests express a strong desire to return, citing excellent food and pleasant experiences, while others vow never to return due to poor service. Complimentary items for celebrations add a nice touch but don't always make up for service shortcomings.

Service is reasonable, not much different than another decent place. Server put on proper aires and made us feel special, but kept getting things wrong. There were only 2 sides that I would pick which one was creamed spinach. It was disgusting unfortunately. It smelled and tasted like a petting zoo, very strange and yucky. I lightly mentioned to server I didn't care for it but she packed it up for to take home and smell one more time. Honestly, I can't believe how over priced it was for what we got. I did enjoy time with my wife regardless!

We have been enjoying Ruth Chris for many years. This year we went for my birthday 8/3. My husband likes to eat dinner early so we were the first table to be seated this day. We enjoyed an appetizer with the yummy bread and I had a delicious salad. We also tried the bottle water and the tap water we couldn’t tell the difference. We ordered dinner and sides and were pleased with our food. This is when everything went bad. Our empty plates sat in front of us for 25 minutes. I even asked for them to be removed and a dessert menu brought out to us. At this point I went downstairs to the hostess area and asked for a manager. Ashley was the manager and I told her I was upset that the plates had not been removed and no dessert menu brought to us. We felt that our waitress was busy with a large table and was not finishing with our table and another two top in the room that was experiencing the same problems. I also said I was disappointed that a manager had not stopped by our table to check on how our dinner was. Ashley’s replay was that she had not had time to get upstairs yet to check on tables. Remember we were the first to be seated and this was over 2 hours later! Very disappointing! She did say what can I do for you. I said I just wanted someone to know of our disappointment with our dining experience. I went to the restroom and when I came back Ashley was at the top of the stairs and the plates were removed from our table. Our waitress brought out a treat for my birthday a small strawberry cheesecake with a candle, nice presentation. She also put 3 forks out for everyone at the table to have a bite. She asked for my ID for the birthday discount. I’m guessing she had to so see Ashley regarding the discount because after the bill was brought to us Ashley came by saying “you didn’t tell me it was your Birthday”. I guess that was our manager visit. We were never asked if anyone else wanted dessert. We left there saying we are not coming back and went to Culver’s for ice cream. Funny thing a employee at Culver’s stopped at our table and wanted to know how our ice cream was and if we needed anything. I just expected much more from Ruth Chris Steak House ☹️.

I sat at the bar but i HAD to find and tip my favorite waiter! I sat at the bar but he brought me bread and helped me decide on something different tonight. He put me up on game about cajun on my mac and cheese a long time ago which i do everytime now & he recommended the cowboy steak which was FIRE🔥🔥Nick is a good employer & his personality is amazing , give my boy a raise! The bartenders are always amazing as well🤎

Based on expectation from what I'd heard about the place the sides were underwhelming, but the MEAT!!!!!OMG. Literally EVERYTHING ELSE was amazing. I've been itching to get there and my sweetheart took me for my birthday. The lamb chops..... PERFECTION his steak PERFECTION dessert... you guessed it PERFECTION. We WILL be back. Our server was just excellent! Very knowledgeable and informative and NICE. he made us feel at home. So excited to return.

My wife and I drove an hour away to come to this establishment for such an extreme disappointment. First of all, we were told there was a dress code but as soon as arrive and are seated, we see people in sweats and hats, which is so inhospitable in an establishment that’s upscale in nature.. but that’s a different story. When we arrived, the lady who seated us couldn’t have looked more bothered to be there. I brushed that off and decided we were going to have a good experience; I couldn’t have been more wrong. I couldn’t recall our servers name, he was passive aggressive and to be quite honest, we felt neglected the entire evening. It was our first time ever going to a Ruth’s Chris and most likely will be the last time. We definitely will step foot in the Ann Arbor location. He seemed nice at first and we thought it was going to be smooth but it took him a while to come and grab our drink orders, food orders, refills etc. My wife asked which side dish was better between Au gratin potatoes or garlic masked potatoes and he had that passive aggressive tone, talking about “well they’re two difference type potatoes… one is scalloped…” and I cut him off and mentioned that my wife is asking as as flavor profile goes, which is better!! I was displeased with that comment when not only was he not very attentive or quick, but had a comment like that when allegedly, Ruth’s Chris should be priding itself on its guest service. I’ve had better service from a McDonald’s employee okay?! It is a joke if you ask me. We watched tables around us come and go before we even got our dinner. My wife and I bother ordered filets, I wanted medium rare and she wanted medium well. We waited well over 45 minutes or more for our dinner, we finally get it and my a steak is medium well and her’s is well. I gave my wife my steak and had them re cook the well one. I waited another half hour for the recook all while our sides sat and got cold. My wife didn’t want to eat without me so she didn’t really touch her food.. and after the long waits, the over cooked steak on the hot ass plates, the absence of our server to even refill my soda; all we were met with to fix the issues, was “sorry”. We weren’t offered a dessert, or any type of consolation to fix the many issues faced that evening. We spent good money to come out, and while the sides were decent and the salad was good, I’d rather spend our money anywhere except in an establishment who could actually care less about guest satisfaction and more about $$$. Had our issue been resolved, we would have ordered more drinks, dessert and even more brussel sprouts to take home because those were the highlight of the evening. We’re extremely disappointed overall in our experience because we came for Valentine’s Day, drove a decent amount of time, spent quite a bit of money for a subpar experience. We know now what restaurant to steer clear of. Poor job on the management’s end.

Top notch dining experience, we've been to many steak houses and we always love trying new locations out. This is my first time trying Ruth's Chris steakhouse and it did not disappoint. We had the shrimp cocktail to start and the shrimp were huge and fresh. I had the 16 oz NY strip and it was just plain delicious, cooked exactly how I wanted. Bursting with flavor and very tender for a strip. Garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus were the perfect pairing for side dishes. Our waitress Amanda was awesome. She was very helpful and helped my girlfriend pick out the perfect wine to pair with her steak (filet mignon) . We were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us a complimentary cheese cake. I also ordered creme brulee for myself and it was very well done. Creamy and luscious. The atmosphere was nice, upscale but not pretentious. good lighting and clean. Overall a great experience. I recommend.

After years of hype, we finally made it here. Our group opted to order extra side dishes instead of an appetizer, so our meal began after the delicious warm bread. I had the ribeye steak cooked medium, and it was very good, but not the best steak I’ve eaten. We added the trio of sauces and really enjoyed the cremini mushroom one. The lobster Mac and cheese was topped with nice chunks of lobster, while the au gratin potatoes were thick cut, but not enough cheese. It seemed to have mayo which dominated the sauce mixture. We also ordered Brussel sprouts which were nicely done. Finally was the dessert which we enjoyed the chocolate, flourless mini cakes. Our server was Jessica and she was exceptional!
