Customer Review Summary
Relish Restaurant, located in the Kensington Hotel, is closed on Mondays and has a somewhat sparse atmosphere with more staff than customers. The food is generally praised, especially the BBQ, with some reviewers noting it as some of the best they’ve ever had. The service receives positive remarks, particularly for staff like Nick and Donte, who are described as friendly and attentive. Pricing is considered reasonable, and the location offers convenient parking. While most meals are well-received, a few patrons found certain dishes like chicken too dry and brisket underwhelming. Overall, the restaurant is a recommended spot for BBQ lovers and date nights, despite minor inconsistencies in food quality. Ambience and the availability of cocktails are also highlights, although food service can occasionally be slow. There are mixed feelings about the experience, with some satisfied customers ready to return and others noting areas for improvement.

This restaurant is part of the kensington hotel and is closed on Mondays. When it was open the place was pretty sparse, more staff than customers. We dropped in one night, the server was really freindly and helpful and the food was really good. Just lacks a bit of atmosphere.

I had the 2 meat combo with ribs and brisket. The rub seasoning was very good and the BBQ sauce was amazing! Some of the best BBQ I’ve ever eaten! Nick, the manager waited on me. He was great! Very attentive and sociable. I recommend Relish to anyone that loves BBQ, especially to the weary road warriors like myself.

My wife and I have been here a couple times now and the food and service have been fantastic. We find the menu pricing very reasonable, it’s easy to get to, and has plenty of free parking as well. It is becoming our go to place for our date nights. Give it a try. We don’t think you will be disappointed.

Service was good, water glass was a bit dirty when I sat down. The food was not bad but not great either. The chicken was too dry and brisket didn’t amaze. Definitely decent for being a hotel restaurant. If anything the appetizer was the best part.

I was having brunch with my relatives and really enjoyed it. The staffs are super friendly, however the food took some time. I loved the ambience. No issues in finding parking.

We stayed at the neighboring hotel and after checking in we found out the restaurant was closed (at 5:45PM on a Saturday). The staff member says to us "go next door to The Kensington, they have a restaurant called Re•Lish. Way better food anyway". So we walked next door to Re•Lish. We were glad our hotels restaurant was closed about 5mins after sitting down. Our server, Donte, was fantastic. Food was great. Our appetizer was the Corned Beef Egg Rolls, I got the Seared Mahi Mahi and my wife got the 3 PC fried chicken. Well prepared and fast service. We ended up going back the next day for breakfast, Donte was our server again (fantastic server). Really great breakfast. We are already talking about stopping in there when we travel to the Detroit Zoo (which we do quite frequently) because it is on our way.

First time to University Michigan for parents weekend. Last minute called for reservations for 6. They said yes and the BBQ was amazing. Lisa was our waitress. Great service Amazing food. Will definitely come back.
