Customer Review Summary
The reviews for Armsby Abbey express mixed feelings about the restaurant. Many customers were disappointed with the food quality, particularly the mac and cheese, which lacked flavor and consistency. Sandwiches and pasta dishes also received criticism for being bland and poorly balanced, with some dishes described as overly simple or lacking in value for the price. Conversely, appetizers like brussel sprouts and certain cocktails were well-received, with drinks noted as refreshing despite being a bit watered down. The service varied, with some patrons noting delays and disinterested staff, while others had a positive experience with friendly service. The venue itself, with a lively atmosphere and attractive decor, was appreciated, although some suggested improvements in lighting. Overall, while the ambiance and drinks are praised, the food quality and service consistency appear to be areas for improvement.

I’ve been telling people, “I hear they have the best mac and cheese in Worcester” only to go here and be disappointed when I finally tried it myself! The shells and sauce were not at all consistent, the croutons were filled with oil from the melting cheese on top, and there was no strong flavor besides the crisp edges of cheese falling over the edge of the cup! It resembled an at-home creation, and my quest for the best mac and cheese continues. We also had the chicken and the eggplant sandwiches, which were also just OK. The fries were nice and crispy. The wings were giant and had a lot of meat on them. Our drinks were excellent! I got the seasonal Charli’s Apples drink and it was super refreshing and tasteful, like taking a bite out of a green apple. I anticipate coming back, but only for a drink, or perhaps for brunch.

The vibes here are great. The food, not so much. Went around 8pm on Wednesday. Got their wings, brussel sprouts and bread for appetizers. Wings were bland. Brussel sprouts were good. Bread was pretty good. For meal, got their muhammara and burger. Muhammara sandwich was disappointing. Lacking in flavor and bread to other ingredients ratio was bad. Too much bread. For drinks, got pennecillin, grapefruit cocktail. They tasted good but are very watered down. Not hard enough. Quite expensive for what we're getting. Interior is really nice.

My wife and I had tried to come here once before but it was so busy we couldn’t get in! We finally got to try it and it was worth the wait. The drinks and food were excellent and the bar staff were very kind. I’d recommend trying to make a reservation for weekends, but we had no issue getting in on a Thursday night.

I hate writing bad reviews but here we are. People seem to rave on about this place but I don't understand the hype. Went here with my girlfriend for dinner last night with high expectations only to be met with disappointment. The charcuterie board we ordered had tasty items on it, but was significantly lacking in items for the 20$ price point. The pasta dish I ordered passed the eye test and looks like an artist put it together, but lacked any semblance of flavor beyond the natural taste of ground hamburg overwhelming the dish. Ive gotten a better flavor profile from some of the local pizza joints pasta dishes than this 20$ pile of meh. I should talk about the good too, being my girlfriends pizza was decent at best and the waitress was personable and did well for a busy Friday night in downtown. I'd be reluctant to give this place another try giving it's high price point and mediocre at best food

Tried out Armsby Abbey for brunch today. Was very disappointed with the service and prices. We got there and we're seated 20 minutes before the waitress came over. The food tasted good not steller and the prices for what they give you for portions weren't great. Again food tasted good but wouldn't visit for brunch again.

The duck confit was so delicious! Cheese plate was a great way to start off. Loved it.

I would not order anything off the menu again. The peach waffle was soggy and had a bad Smokey flavor. The pulled pork sandwich was dry It tasted almost identical to the poutine which was nothing to write home about. And our server was extremely disinterested in us and our experience. They served my beer in a wine glass! What????

When it’s good, let the world know. Used to trying out hotels and restaurants of all kinds, it is rare to find such a surprising place. We chose Armsby Abbey in Worcester for its convenient proximity to the Hilton Garden Inn. Lively and warm pub atmosphere, sober wooden decoration, young clientele, we were welcomed by a smiling staff. The cocktails were original, delicious and for once, drinkable (I can't stand the sugar syrup that we are served in most establishments). We enjoyed a Pot Pie and a Pesto Flat Bread. Two dishes in reasonable portions, European style. And above all, gourmet and tasty. And not everyone can surprise the palate of Frenchmen. Overall, a great culinary experience and a warm welcome in a friendly space. I highly recommend it. Small downside, the pretty bar could use better lighting.
