Was downtown on a lovely Sunday night and decided to stop into St. Elmo’s. We were seated almost immediately, even though it was a busy night. Our server Donald “Duck” was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our meals and everything was very delicious. The dining room is very intimate and prepare to be seated closely next to other tables. I got the porterhouse with redskin potatoes and creamed spinach. The other is a flat iron steak that was cooked to perfection. We truly enjoyed our visit at the Indiana Staple St Elmo’s!

The service was outstanding and I really enjoyed the vibe. The world famous shrimp cocktail was on point if you like spicy. I enjoyed my New York Strip Oscar style (with crabmeat). Not the best steak I have ever had but still pretty good. The bread pudding portion was enormous and very tasty. If you are in Indy, give St. Elmo's a go.

Party of 3 and we spent $200 that included tax and tip. The iconic eatery has an over the top atmosphere and the service matches the atmosphere! St. Elmo’s is known for serving the rich and famous in an upstairs private dining hall. Billy Joel was there the previous evening. Two of our guests shared a bone in porterhouse… cooked to perfection with a loaded baked potato and exceptional white bean soup. 5 stars I had the crab stuffed shrimp, the crab stuffing was delicious and the shrimp cocktail sauce lived up to the hype and then some! However the butterfly shrimp was tough hence the 4 stars. All in all it’s not just a meal… it’s an event… and an excellent event it was! PS make a reservation 😎

Just wow. The server has worked here for almost 3 decades. He was like a magician at guessing what we wanted for dinner. So do not inhale the fresh horseradish from the famous shrimp cocktail. Food and service were amazing. Had a few great cocktails also. I love a great steakhouse.

My husband wanted to bring me here to experience the steaks. I am glad he did! The food was very good, the service was excellent and the decor was very nice…however it was beyond crowded and very hard to move through the lounge or restaurant. I was exceptionally pleased with my Dry-aged Ribeye because I asked for medium rare and it was perfect all the way through the steak. The lobster tail was very good as well! I will be coming back someday and I recommend anyone who enjoys a good steak to come visit.

A delicious dinner while we were in town for the Billy Joel/Sting Concert. I regret not taking a photo of my salad but it was spinach with walnuts and mandarin oranges, an absolute MUST have!! Their signature shrimp cocktail with the most delectable signature cocktail with fresh horseradish... I understand why this is legendary! Lip smacking cocktail, for sure! Enjoyed the rib-eye with gorgonzola butter and green beans and the biggest order of delicious, lightly battered, crispy onion rings! The house-made passion fruit sorbet was a delicious, light dessert after a scrumptious onslaught of food! Cheers!

I finally got to dine here after wanting to for years, and it didn’t disappoint! I started with the Caesar salad, which was perfectly balanced and topped with fresh cracked pepper—absolutely on point. The Bramble Mule I ordered was refreshing and expertly crafted. For my main course, the 8oz filet was seasoned to perfection, and the green beans were cooked just right—so flavorful! Dessert was the standout for me: the mousse pie was simply incredible, a perfect way to end the meal. To top it all off, our waiter was attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

All-around great experience. If I could give Andre our waiter 6 stars out of 5, I would. Fun and attentive - he really too care of us. The shrimp cocktail always lives up to the hype.
