Customer Review Summary
Harry & Izzy's at the airport offers a mixed dining experience. The food quality is hit-or-miss; the shrimp cocktail is often considered overhyped, while other dishes like the wedge salad and entrees can be quite good. Service can be slow, necessitating extra time before flights, but there are some instances of attentive service. Atmosphere is decent for an airport setting, though lacks the ambiance found in their other locations. While it is a convenient choice with better food than traditional airport options, the pricing feels high for the quality received. Overall, some patrons rave about specific dishes and the unexpected quality, while others caution against long wait times and inconsistent service.

⭐ 3/5 – Decent Airport Option, Overhyped Shrimp Cocktail Harry & Izzy’s is a well-known name in Indianapolis, but the airport location doesn’t quite deliver the full experience. It’s convenient if you want a sit-down meal before your flight, but the food is just okay, and the pricing feels a bit high for what you get. 🍽️ The Food: 3/5 The signature shrimp cocktail is fine, but nothing special. The rest of the menu is serviceable but not particularly memorable. 🛎️ The Service: 3/5 It gets the job done, but nothing stands out. Depending on the time of day, you might have a bit of a wait. 🏡 The Atmosphere: 3/5 For an airport restaurant, it’s decent—a step up from fast food, but still not somewhere you’d go out of your way to visit otherwise. 💰 The Verdict: Okay for a Sit-Down Meal, But Not Worth the Hype ✅ Convenient if you have time before a flight ✅ Better than fast food options at the airport ❌ Shrimp cocktail is just okay, not worth the hype ❌ Expensive for the quality Would I come back? Only if I had extra time and wanted a sit-down meal before a flight.

Harry Roth and Isadore "Izzy" Rosen were the owners of St. Elmo Steak House in Indianapolis, Indiana for 30 years. Harry and Izzy's is a spinoff restaurant named after them. I’ll take it. The shrimp cocktail is very very good and so was the wedge - you just have less ambience. No cloth napkins here, but you can still make your hair curl with the amazing painfully delicious taste of the horseradish! Five stars here. Service is not rushed (dare I say, slow) so you need time before your flight to eat here. The server did not ask how much time I had, which tells me “they will not be rushed”. I ordered a salad and they took their time bringing it. But, he did keep my soda full - thanks Tony. There are very limited access to plugging in your phone here. The hostess was not too interested in adjusting my seat based on that - so, ok. Wedge Salad - good. Gorgonzola dressing and bacon. GOOD Thanks for my lunch at IND ⭐️

Surprisingly amazing experience! Food was delicious, though the cocktail sauce was VERY heavy on horseradish. Salmon was perfectly seasoned and cooked; wedge salad was delicious! Service was attentive and quick. Will definitely go again if on the Indy airport!

Coming here I had no idea I was at another form of St. Elmo’s, once I viewed the menu and saw the shrimp cocktail, all of the pieces came together. This was a quick lunch, I had ate at St. Elmo’s earlier in the week and enjoyed the Espresso Martini, so I went ahead and ordered one. It was great to have a consistent taste/flavor. I had asked if the chicken or burger would be a better route, especially knowing I had ordered steak earlier in the week. At my waitresses suggestion, I went with the burger, cooked medium. The cook was great and it was very juicy/flavorful, maybe a little too juicy but that could’ve also been the melted cheese, just a little messier than typical. I then had fries for the side, they were okay but nothing to go out of my way for. The side of ranch was definitely a made in house ranch which I think really helped the fries. For being in the airport, this was a nicer option, especially for those traveling together for business.

Got to the airport early and we thought a nice meal would be fun. Ugh. Forty minutes after ordering and still no food, so we asked for it to go. Still took another 15 minutes and our flights’ boarding processes were already well underway. Chopped salad had dark spots on the avocado (see pic) and bacon on it, which I had asked to be 86’d. Replaced the chicken with salmon, which was burnt - guess that’s why it took so long. Three other tables had the same problem with lengthy, unexplained delays. Definitely advise travelers to avoid H&I’s.

This is an incredible spot in the airport, with only a few people left because it was within an hour of closing, the food was on par and exceeded my expectations tenfold… and Brittany made me feel like a guest while sitting at the bar. Definitely a stand out from traditional restaurant service and food, but certainly understandable why they have other concepts in downtown Indianapolis and thrillist rated them top 10 in airports! Onto the food, the strip steak was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked … on par with any steakhouse I’ve recently visited. Asparagus was sautéed and still had texture with great seasoning. And the cheesecake…. is something to write home about. Don’t hesitate to stop here! It might be a little more than your average check but it’s worth it!

The BEST! Hands down the BEST airport food I’ve ever had. The Filet Benedict was AMAZING!!! Freshly made. 😘 And then Tanita!!! Omg 😆 funny, charming and friendly with everyone at the bar for breakfast. This is my first time in Indianapolis and Harry, Izzy’s and Tanita will make me come back again. ❤️

I had the Izzy Sampler gluten free, that is no croutons and no bun. It was delicious as always. The shrimp cocktail will clear you sinus and the filet was cook prefect. If you are flying out of the B gate take that short walk over to A gate and try Harry and Izzy’s
