Customer Review Summary
Bynum's offers a mixed dining experience with strong highlights and notable downsides. Many patrons praise the portions, particularly the prime rib, lobster voodoo, and blooming onion, alongside delicious homemade blue cheese and desserts like cheesecake. Service experiences vary; while some describe fantastic and accommodating staff, others report unfriendly service and long wait times. A rustic, old-fashioned atmosphere appeals to some, but others find it less modern and inviting. However, there are significant complaints regarding steak doneness and quality, with some diners expressing disappointment and dissatisfaction with undercooked or poorly flavored dishes, particularly in more expensive items. Overall, while many intend to return, a few had such negative experiences that they expressed no desire to visit again.

I really loved the whole experience, my first time there was today... I'm very persnickety about my steak though, I asked for Xtra well done and what I was given was still pink (and even red in some parts), but I was chill about it and didn't feel the need to send it back because I know prime rib is hard to judge doneness. I plan to return to try a sirloin one of these days.

Wow, the portions of meat are insane! Great spot for prime rib, especially. We all really loved the lobster voodoo and the blooming onion too. Their homemade blue cheese is perfection and the French onion soup had a great flavor. Richie was our server and he did a fabulous job. We came in with like a party of 13 and they had no problem accommodating us. The place itself is very rustic. The bar looked really cool, too. I was lucky enough to get a bite of cheesecake, which was superb. Great place for celebrating something special or treating yourself. I look forward to going back!

The food was good, stuffed tots are just amazing. We had a company event there, and the wife and I ordered the prime rib and tomahawk. The tomahawk was nicely seasoned but disappointed with the prime rib. The aju and horseradish were amazing, though. I had cranberry sauce on the side, which was great, and I don't even like cranberry sauce. We had some cocktails as well, and all were amazing. The staff was great, the desert was wonderful. Overall, the experience was nice

I don’t usually do a review on any experience I have with food and dining but because of the price thought I’d vent. My wife and I took my son and his girlfriend out to dinner there after making reservations. We were seated quick enough but atmosphere was very rustic and our waitress was not very friendly at all. She seemed inpatient and rude even though they weren’t even all that busy, at least not yet. I ordered the porterhouse with my wife and son the filet and our guest chicken fettuccine. Everyone was drinking water and ice tea. My steak was probably the worst steak I’ve ever eaten at any steak house and the filet’s were not any better because we were all trying them out! I order medium but ended up with “wipe it’s ass and throw on plate” red and I have a strict policy about not sending things back to the kitchen for fear of what they do to it! All the steaks on the table were undercooked from what we ordered and they all had a bad taste even being dry for half raw! The baked potatoes were the size of golf balls having been dry also after being ordered loaded. The overall experience of the food in general pretty much sucked along with the service and for over 200 dollars it’s not worth ever going back! I’ve been to a lot of steak restaurants and I have to say this one was the worse in my book! I could go to Waffle House and get a better steak for a third of the cost! Will not return!!

When I was a kid we used to go to a local steakhouse for special occasions. That place is long gone but bynum’s is what it would be if it was still around. We went for the first time on Sunday. We made reservations but we were early enough that they weren’t needed. The restaurant itself does have an old fashioned feel- as I mentioned earlier it reminded me of the steakhouses growing up- dark wood and carpets, which some people may not appreciate as much as a more modern look- but for me it was appropriate to the fare. Our server and her trainee were fantastic. They brought out our food quickly and were both very kind. They also refilled our drinks and got us to go drinks. As for the food. We started off with their version of a bloomin onion. It was fantastic and tasted like the ones from that “other” steakhouse used to taste. I definitely recommend. For the meal we got the prime rib. It was massively huge- enough for two people to share and have more than a pound left to take home. All of the meals also come with soup, salad and bread. I got the onion soup, which was very good. Not quite as good as the Rathskellers used to be but still good. They make their own blue cheese which made the salad good as well We also got dessert, which was a nice end to the meal. I got the peanut butter pie, which has a fantastic crust. I cannot recall what my partner got but it was also good. . For those wondering about the price- the prime rib is market price but it is extremely fair for what you get. For two people with one alcoholic drink, the appetizer, and two desserts, our total was $135 before tip. That a fantastic deal for a good steak.

Terrible service coming in tonight. Ladies at host stand completely occupied looking for some paper they lost for literally a few minutes with me standing right there. Like- umm- it just isn’t good customer service. They should have greeted me and sat us.
