Wife and I had our anniversary dinner here and it was a fantastic experience. She had the scallops with risotto and I had the braised short rib. We both ordered a cocktail and finished off dinner with a slice of key lime pie. The food and dessert was amazing! Service and ambiance were excellent. Absolute 10/10 would highly recommend.

From the mix-up with the time zone (our fault/coming from Montgomery, Alabama) to the tip left on the table, this experience was top-notch service and even better food! Starting with the abundant serving of mango spare ribs appetizer to the surf n turf (mine) and my husband's seafood platter, I have NO COMPLAINTS about this restaurant. Oh, and did I mention the banana pudding CHEESECAKE??? Can't wait to go back! If you get there before me, GET THOSE RIBS! BUT, SAVE ME SOME! 😆

We have been regular customers for 7 plus years. I can’t say enough about this restaurant! Where in the Columbus or Auburn area will you find that the chef (Tom) remembers having a conversation with you and greets you when you return?! Not only that, but the fact he took time to talk about me my favorite dishes and how to prepare them at home. From the bar to the server every experience keeps us and our family of 7 returning. Not to mention, we used their Triple Chocolate Threat cake as our son’s Groom Cake in 2020.

Came for Valentine’s dinner and it was delicious! Crab cakes were phenomenal. Our server, Taylor, was helpful and accommodating with every request including Gluten Free questions and substituting needs. Love the exposed brick and quaint old town charm. 5 out of 5 recommend. We will definitely return!!!

Absolutely disappointing presentation. We went out for a nice dinner without the kids after returning from a work trip. The beautiful one is my wife's special (both grouper) and the other is mine...killed the night. See for yourself. Spoke with the manager on how you can release the disparity from the kitchen. She said I'm sorry about that and tried to make excuses rather than admit the presentation was not up to par for the price.

Oh my stars! First time there and TOTALLY impressed! Atmosphere and service - superb! And the food is FABULOUS! Pricey...sure, but portions are generous, presentation is stunning, and the taste... eyes roll back in your head good! ;) I live in AL, over an hour away. Was in Columbus to see a play and have dinner w/GA friends; but I'd drive back just for this restaurant! HIGHLY recommend!

3 year later review: Much better experience! We planned on going to Salt Cellars sister restaurant but they didn't have any openings for 3 hours so we decided to get Salt Cellar another go. We sat at the bar and had a great experience. Our bartender was so friendly (I completely forgot her name oops) and all the courses were delicious this time around. We had drinks, the peppermint martini (daily special) that my mom loved and i had the Pirate something and it was good (although I didn't finish it because it didn't fit the vibe of my food, that's my fault). I also got the bartender to water it down with more cider which made it even better. We had the sampler appetizer and it was delicious. The shrimp were cooked so perfectly and the crab cakes had such an amazing smell and taste. I had the scallop risotto and the portion was fairly large. The scallops were cooked perfectly and there were small ones in the risotto as well. I felt I received my money's worth for it, and it was delicious. Mom had the seafood platter again and enjoyed it all. Son has the seafood pasta and ate as much as he could (it too was a pretty large portion!). We had our mandatory 3 desserts, banana pudding cheesecake, German chocolate cake, and the icebox cake. They were all great but the German chocolate and banana pudding cheesecake shined the brightest. The ice box is perfect for someone who wants a dessert that isn't extremely sweet but still very much a cake. 10/10 will try again Old review: Took my mom for her birthday. It was overall a good experience. The waitress was attentive but not overbearing, the restaurant was nice and clean. The appetizers and drinks were the stars of the meal. We had the grilled halloumi and the tuna tartar special. The entrees were the letdown of the evening. The ribeye I ordered was way overcooked, the brussel sprouts were not roasted nearly as long as they needed to be, and the mashed potatoes looked rubbery and unappetizing. However, the scottish salmon and seafood platter were great. Now as for the desserts, the coconut cake was phenomenal, and the cereal cheesecake and banana cheesecake were delicious as well. Other than the entree blunder, I overall recommend this place. Next time I come it will be more of a sit at the bar and have drinks and appetizers.

My first time ever in Columbus, Georgia and one of the first things I inquired about at my hotel is “where is the best food around here”. Saltcellar was at the top of the list. The food, staff, and ambiance are outstanding. Be sure to check out the magnificent garden curated by Master Gardener Mike. I did a tour of the menu and every single item I ordered was tasty and cooked to perfection. I specifically enjoyed conversation with and service from bartender Frank who is actually an accomplished musician. Manager Jamie was also amazing as well as all staff with whom I interacted.
