About Philly G Steaks - SkyView Atlanta - steak house in Atlanta, Georgia

Customer Review Summary

Philly G Steaks - SkyView Atlanta offers some of the best Philly cheesesteaks, described as juicy and flavorful with soft buns. It has a prime downtown location near attractions like the Ferris wheel, making it a convenient stop. While the cheesesteaks are delicious and well-seasoned, the wait times can be long, and prices are considered high, especially for smaller sandwich sizes compared to traditional 12-inch rolls. One reviewer praised the chicken Philly for its seasoning and quality, noting the option for various toppings and cheeses. Customer service received positive remarks, particularly about staff member Renee, who was described as kind and engaging. Overall, many recommend it as a quality food option when in the area, despite some experiencing dry sandwiches. The restaurant is commended for its quick service during busy times and is conveniently located near other attractions, making it highly recommended.

Located right under SkyView, it is a fun place to visit. While making each sandwich methodically with care is appreciated and it is quite delicious, it takes way too long and the cost is way too expensive even for a touristy spot. The place is not necessarily worth visiting as a destination but it is a good option when visiting SkyView.

Two Philly natives were skeptical about ordering steaks from this place because many have tried and failed to produce the right tasting sandwich but I am happy to report that these cheesesteaks were delicious. I would have given five stars all the way but the sandwiches are small (approximately 6 inches to 8 inches sandwiches compared to our 12-inch rolls) and $5 more than what we pay but this sandwich was well seasoned, soft roll, and the right cheese availability. I asked for mayo on my roll but there was none. I enjoyed it and would buy another as well as recommend it if you are in the area.

Ordered a chicken philly, and it was seasoned to perfection. Bread was very soft, and you are able to pick what kind of cheese you want, along with toppings such as banana peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc. A philly alone is $14, but i don't mind paying for quality food i enjoyed. I went back the next day to purchase the same order!

First off, the people there were super nice, including their clientele. Unfortunately, both sandwiches that I got was dry and flavorless. I already had a few drinks in and the sandwich was still extrememly underwhelming. I think that says a lot because most things tastes phenomenal in that state.

It was raining and I just got off the SkyView, was hungry and remembered seeing this place on maps. It had been a long day. I was supposed to be at a special event but it got closed without reason. So I came to downtown Atlanta. Here I got a steak sandwich with grilled onions, peppers & extra cheese. It was so delicious!! And Renee was kind, compassionate and fun to talk with! 😊 If she's not the boss: Dear Renee's boss, please give her a well deserved raise!! She really goes the extra mile for her customers! 🥳

Best cheesesteak I've had outside of Philly! It's a great little walkup joint with outdoor seating. Portions aren't huge, but they aren't small, either. The quality of the food is fantastic. You definitely get what you pay for. Staff was friendly and helpful. Service was pretty quick considering they were busy and everything is made to order. It's walking distance to the GA Aquarium and Coke Museum. Very convenient. Highly recommended.
