Dining here was nothing short of a remarkable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of warmth and sophistication. The service was impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive, making us feel truly valued as guests. Now, let’s talk about the food. On a scale of 1 to 10, it doesn’t just deserve a 20—it redefines what exceptional dining should be. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor, meticulously plated, and clearly crafted with passion. My favorite was the A5 strip pieces melts in your d*+- mouth good If you're seeking more than just a meal but an unforgettable culinary journey, this is the perfect spot for a romantic date night. The intimate setting enhances the experience, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the ambiance, savor each bite, and truly connect with your dining companion. A hidden gem that promises an extraordinary evening!

Absolutely amazing experience. Came here for my husband’s birthday. Everything from start to finish was amazing: the ambience, the course pacing, the impeccable service. And the food, incredible. Such creativity and variety in the ordering of the courses. Highly recommend the Prefecture Omakase. We will be back!

With so many great options for Japanese food and omakase in metro Atlanta, it’s hard to for one restaurant to outdo another. Prefecture is a hidden gem in Atlanta. The service is wonderful and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The ambiance was the perfect metropolitan city vibe. And the food….not one thing we tried was just okay. The highlights were the oysters, hamachi maki and the wagyu. The food was perfectly flavored and we will definitely be coming back again.

This place is fantastic! My family wanted to try something new, so I decided we should have an omakase style meal. Upon entry, you're taken aback by the beautiful decor and overall presentation. It truly transcended our experience with our meal and heightened the ambiance. Once we were seated, we were greeted by our waitress and we looked over the menu. Our waitress doubled as the bartender and she was magnificent! From making killer drinks, her professionalism with the food presentation and also making some great recommendations, it really made our meal memorable. Between the remarkable food presentation, sublime and delectable flavors in each dish, to the perfectly cooked meats on each plate, that meal was superb! My favorite bite of the evening was the A5 primal. That wagyu just melted in my mouth, I truly couldn't get enough! Plus, that raspberry sorbet was heaven. Not overly sweet, and with the right amount of tartness and sweetness. With the Japanese mint on top, it really made that sorbet sing! Every dish was meticulously thought out and crafted, and I truly appreciated the care each element had on each plate. No matter how small it was, it all made sense in 1 bite. I will definitely return in the future and I will say to anyone who wants to try a novel food experience, come here. You won't be disappointed!

I had an amazing experience at Prefecture. We tried 7 tapas and shared their famous 8-course omakase ($175 per person). The Yuzu Ponzu Oysters were my favorite—super fresh and flavorful, and the Hamachi Sashimi with blood orange was such a unique and tasty combo. The omakase was impressive, with the A5 Primal (Miyazaki Striploin) and Zabuton (Snake River Wagyu Chuck Center) being the standout dishes. The presentation was top-notch, and every bite was delicious. They also have an in-house mixologist, and the Yuzu Lychee Mocktail was a refreshing and fun drink (you get to pick the color!). The atmosphere is classy, relaxing, and the service was excellent. Perfect for special occasions!

I seriously cannot get over how amazing this place is and how much of a hidden gem it is! I visited Sandy Springs a few months ago and still can't stop thinking about this place! This was by far the best wagyu I have EVER HAD, in terms of quality, beautiful presentation, and perfect flavor pairings. Not only is the service absolutely outstanding, but the chefs also take great care to create both visually appealing and delicious tasting dishes -- especially the OUTSTANDING omakase, while also offering a variety of amazing small plates on another menu. This was the first time I've ever seen/tried non-sushi omakase, and I was extremely pleasantly surprised! Everything was so unique and taste, and the omakase is a great value for what you get. The portions are filling, diverse, and super tasty for $175/person. It's a super classy and beautiful environment, perfect for work dinners, date nights, anniversaries, and more! This restaurant has AMAZING food and is just overall a really great EXPERIENCE that I highly recommend!!!!

Edit: not at all shocked that the manager ghosted me after contacting me immediately to reply to this review. Bottom line: the food was not good. Unfortunately I can’t give Prefecture a good score because of a few different reasons, but number one sadly being the quality of the food. The number one draw is the wagyu, and in the 8 course tasting menu, none of the pieces I had “melted” in my mouth as the server described it, and several times I considered asking for a paper napkin so I could spit out pieces that were so chewy and gristly. That was a huge disappointment. The other glaring issue I had was one course I didn’t finish, and the server offered to bag it up for me. No problem, sounds great, except when I got the bill, I realized they charged me an a la carte $50 for a brand new dish instead of the over half a plate I had left. When you’re paying over $200 for a coursed meal, this extra charge just seemed like a kick in the face, especially since it was never spoken about. The last two complaints are something I wouldn’t mind in a regular restaurant, but again, the fact is that a two-person dinner came to almost $700, so I feel justified in expecting the best. Two separate Wagyu dishes were served with the same style of tart apples and chives. It was tasty, but at that price point, break out a cookbook and look for different flavor combos. Finally I ordered a whisky sour, which was served over ice, which sadly defeats the purpose of an egg white drink. Again, I would not think twice about this at another bar, but at $20 a pop, I want the best quality possible. The pros: staff were incredibly attentive and we never felt either rushed or forgotten, and the atmosphere was beautiful for a celebration. I wish I could look forward to another visit but sadly for the price and quality, I won’t be back.

My mid-week birthday dinner (8-course Omakase) was amazing!!! Great atmosphere (minus some obnoxiously loud parties near our table…will definitely ask for a booth near the back next time), impeccable service, and an amazingly refined and balanced menu. The A5 Primal was the standout; my immediate review is too explicit for Google! The chef was in Japan sourcing ingredients, but his team held it down - no need to take pics, the consistency in presentation and taste is evident! In addition to the 8 courses, I was also gifted an assortment of three dark chocolate confections (one infused with a champagne cream, one with cherries, and the last with bitters). I also enjoyed the espresso martini with tequila, Japanese lager, and red wine offerings. My partner and I were impressed by how attentive the small staff were throughout the 2.25 hour experience - every person front of house came to our table at some point - and how well paced the meal felt. This was definitely the best birthday meal I’ve ever had and I can’t wait to bring my food-enthusiast family and friends here in the future. Thanks!
