Customer Review Summary

Highland Tap is a popular Atlanta restaurant known for its private dining experiences and welcoming atmosphere. Many reviews highlight the exceptional service provided by staff, particularly waiters like Corey and Alexis. Diners rave about the steak, prime rib, and garlic mash, often describing them as perfectly cooked and flavorful. The restaurant has a nostalgic vibe, reminiscent of the '90s, which some patrons find charming, while others view it as outdated. Guests recommend making reservations, especially on busy nights, as the restaurant is frequently crowded. Overall, Highland Tap is celebrated for its consistently good food, attentive service, and being a local favorite, though it's advised for food snobs to temper their expectations. Some minor criticisms include the preparation of certain dishes, like the onion rings being too hard and seasoning suggestions for steaks, but these do not significantly detract from the positive dining experiences shared by patrons.

Celebrated my birthday here in December and we had such a great time! It was a group of 8 of us and even though we had to wait until we were all there to be seated, it was a great experience. We had our own little private room in the back and they treated us very well. Excited to go back to drink more dirty martinis and bread!

We tried Highland Tap for dinner on a Friday. Reservations are recommended. We didn’t have one but were able to get a spot. Our waiter was Corey and he was phenomenal. We tried a steak and burger and also the caprese salad. Everything was delicious. Cooked perfectly. Their bread and butter blend is amazing as well. We parked on the street not knowing there is a parking lot behind the building. We had a great experience and are looking forward to next time.

Today was our first time eating here. The prime rib was so good that I had to phone a friend and send a picture before I left. We like it cooked medium and it was so tender, flavorful, and made to perfection. The service was awesome and everyone was very attentive. Y’all rock!!!

Are you a snob? Do you stick out your pinky out when you hold your glass? If so do not come here. Highland tap is an Atlanta institution. It has a below 4 score on Yelp yet on every nite you go the place is slammed. Why? It’s an outdated as hell restaurant, a time capsule into the 90s. I always tell my friends it is impossible to have a bad time at Highland Tap. Went on a Man Date and we both had the time of our lives. One got the Rib Eye, the other got the prime rib. We cut it in half and shared. I’ve been coming here for 15 years and first shot at the prime rib. Y’all, it’s the best I’ve ever had. We sat at the bar, and the bar tender asked us if we have ever been. I told here Highland Tap is my happy place. I got my dirty martini with Blue cheese stuffed olives and smiled away. Bottom line, food snobs stay away. This is a locals spot, who absolutely adore this place. Update Had the meatloaf this time and it was real solid. Alexis is the beet waiter I have had in years. She helped get us a table, she also moved us to accommodate when another person showed. She was prompt and handled out party with ease. We all made sure to tip her well.

This place was amazing. Sam our server went above and beyond and made our experience amazing! We are visiting from out of town and we were craving some good steaks. The steaks were cooked to perfection. Juicy, tender and so flavorful! The garlic mash and garlic spinach was beyond my expectations!!! Definitely recommended this place! Mondays and Tuesdays are their specials and a reservation is definitely recommended!

My wife and I had a good evening here with our first dinner visiting Atlanta. Wife had the ribeye without the bone and I had the wood grilled salmon. The fren h onion soup....OH MY GOODNESS, and that wedge salad...TO DIE FOR!! We finished our meal with creme bulee and chocolate chip cheesecake. The only suggestions my wife and I had, maybe adding a berry option to the creme brulee, more seasoning to the steak and a thorough check for bones in the salmon. Other than that....good quality food and drinks.

Awesome burger and prime rib was cooked perfectly and the French onion soup was some of the best I've had and the desserts were very good, only disappointment was the onion rings as they were still hard but our server was on point and we were in and out in a timely manner.. thank you
