Customer Review Summary
Chops & Lobster Bar offers a striking ambiance that blends warmth and luxury. The service is a highlight, with attentive staff like Chad and Earl receiving high praise for their recommendations and knowledge. Drinks, particularly the Paloma and GI Swift Abstract, are well-received, though the espresso martini falls short. Starters like the lump crab cake and lobster morsels are outstanding, while main courses receive mixed reviews due to issues like overcooking. Lobster Mash is a standout dish, and the in-house vanilla ice cream earns a perfect score, but the banana crème pie disappoints. Food quality can be inconsistent, and the restaurant is considered pricey, complicating frequent visits. Dress code enforcement has raised concerns about fairness, impacting the overall experience. While the dining experience can be affected by noise levels, many reviewers highlight exceptional food and service, with recommendations to try various unique dishes. Overall, Chops & Lobster Bar is recommended for its great atmosphere, service, and certain exceptional dishes, though potential diners should be mindful of possible inconsistencies and high costs.

I recently dined at Chops & Lobster Bar, and my experience was quite the mixed bag. Let’s start with the positives: the ambience, aesthetic, and overall atmosphere of the restaurant were absolutely amazing. It has a warm, inviting vibe that makes you feel right at home, yet still luxurious. Our server, Chad, was truly the highlight of our evening. He was attentive, friendly, and made fantastic recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. We have no complaints about his service whatsoever; he is definitely an asset to the restaurant. Now, let's dive into the drinks! I tried the Paloma and the GI Swift Abstract, both of which I would rate a solid 5 out of 5. However, the espresso martini did not deliver as expected—I would give it a 2 out of 5, as I’ve had much better elsewhere. Moving on to the starters, we enjoyed the lump crab cake appetizer, which was phenomenal and earns a perfect 5 out of 5. The lobster morsels were delightful as well, scoring a strong 9 out of 10. We were less impressed with the Blue Point oysters, which I would rate a 7 out of 10. Unfortunately, the main courses did not quite hit the mark. The Caesar salad was surprisingly bland, earning only a 4 out of 10—I've never encountered a Caesar salad with so little flavor. The 8 oz filet mignon was cooked to perfection internally but unfortunately was burnt and charred on the outside, resulting in a disappointing 6 out of 10. 12 oz New York Strip, which I hoped would be juicy and flavorful, suffered the same fate—charred on the outside and not as impressive as it should be. Lobster Mash 10/10! It was the best thing on the menu!!!! Dessert was a bit of a rollercoaster as well. The in-house made vanilla ice cream was outstanding, receiving a well-deserved 10 out of 10. However, the banana crème pie, which was highly recommended, did not live up to expectations; it was unpleasant, and I’m sorry to say it was rather disgusting. 0 out of 10. A couple of areas did need attention during our visit. My husband and I arrived within five minutes of each other but were not asked if we were celebrating anything, which was a bit disappointing. We also needed to request oyster forks, which felt like a small oversight for a restaurant of this caliber. Lastly, it would have been nice if the tables had been crumbed in between courses—something that a highly recommended restaurant should definitely prioritize. Overall, while Chops & Lobster Bar has great potential and some standout offerings, there are certainly areas that need improvement. I would recommend it for the great service and ambiance, but be prepared for some inconsistencies in the food quality. I hope they refine these aspects for a more cohesive dining experience in the future!

Two reasons why I dropped two stars. #1The menu is very expensive overall. The less expensive items are smalls that won’t get you full or not as attractive as the most expensive items on purpose. It’s hard for two people to get two full meals for under $100. Valet, drinks, appetizers, desserts will run the ticket up easy. Can’t blame anyone for creating a menu that pushes you to desire the more expensive item, one would say that’s good marketing. To be close to $150 per person is not realistic for most people to eat here often. getting quality food for less at other places challenges your thought of why would I continue to spend more money here and get less food when I could get more food for less $$. The drinks are elevated pricing also. I can understand drinks being more expensive than food-if the food is fair priced, people will buy more drinks. we all know a crazy markup is on alcohol so you’ll make your money there. #2My wife had on a plain sweater with a small lizard logo on it the size of a small polo logo. As we were checking in for our reservation, the manager tapped a front door security person and pointed at my wife. The security person told my wife she couldn’t enter with that sweater on. Many European guest were sitting with plain T-shirts/sweaters. Knowing where we are in the city, I felt some discrimination as I’ve felt before in this area which made us uncomfortable. She took off the sweater and had a Jimi Hendrix T-shirt on and she put on my scarf and we were seated. In my opinion, the T-shirt was less fitting for dress code. Even if the food is good, you obviously lose a star for discomfort and another star for extremely high pricing. Some people would have just left or rated you 1-Star. Treat everyone well, have less complaints, more money and better ratings and you can still not like me. It’s easy! It’s tough to give this place three star after tasting the food. The wine and drinks were strong, but my friends Remi and Coke was $63, unbelievable. Bread Pudding 10/10 Warm deliciousness, I could taste the rum, perfect texture-so good. Onion Rings-10/10 So fresh and perfectly cooked. Asparagus/Baked Potato/Brussels & Mushroom, free bread and side salad 10/10 perfectly cooked and seasoned. At $12 each for sides, they could easily be $8-$9. The crab cake and Grouper was delicious-light and fresh 10/10. We managed to get out of here spending $175 for two as luckily we found free street parking or we would have been at the $200 mark after paying valet. The couple with us bill was $300. I’m not hating on anyone who can afford to eat here often. The service was premium-new plates and new forks every time as well as combing the table to remove crumbs. High-level experience! I know for quality experience the price will be elevated to cover rent prices and service. The inside space isn’t as large as I thought (a box) so it feels like you are sitting somewhat close to others when it’s packed, and the noise level gets pretty loud when it’s packed and hard to hear anyone at our table without talking loud also. As people cleared the noise level subsided. Accommodating restrooms. Many celebrities have eaten here, their pictures on the wall near the restrooms.

The food was amazing!! The attention to detail here by the staff is unmatched. I’ve been to many fine dining establishments and been disappointed with the service and the food, but literally no notes here. We ordered a large steak and salad to split, and they split it for us on separate plates! I’ve never had that happen before. Usually they just slice the steak and put it on one platter and give us individual, empty plates. The drinks were also good but sooo strong. I think just one drink was enough for me lol. This restaurant definitely fulfilled my 80’s business dinner fantasies. Only downside is, when it’s busy, it is really loud and hard to have a conversation, especially if you’re sitting next to a rowdy table. As the night went on though, the noise level improved.

From the moment I stepped into Chops & Lobster Bar, I knew my family and I were in for a treat. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cozy and elegant, with warm lighting and thoughtful décor that invites you to settle in and savor the experience. The service was impeccable—attentive without being overbearing. Our server (Earl) was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations, ensuring every dish complemented the next. Now, let’s talk about the food. Every plate was a masterpiece. The Porterhouse Lamb Chops was a revelation, with its perfectly balanced flavors and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The Hong Kong Sea Bass, a house specialty, was an explosion of taste that left me wanting more. Even the side dishes and desserts were crafted with care and attention to detail. You must try the Mediterranean Octopus!!! One of the standout moments was the presentation. Each dish arrived like a work of art, showcasing the chef’s commitment to excellence. The drinks were equally impressive. The Chops Old Fashioned and Herradura Blanco Margaritas was expertly mixed. In short, Chops Lobster Bar is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates exceptional food, stellar service, and an unforgettable dining experience. A must if you’re visiting Atlanta!! Add to the top of your list. I’ll definitely be returning!

Wow what a great experience for our anniversary dinner! The food was so good and the ambiance is very romantic. You HAVE to order the lump crab cakes as an appetizer or entree!!

One of the best steakhouses in Atlanta. The food, service, and ambiance are on par with Atlanta's best, especially the Lobster Bar downstairs. Get the specialty peppercorn filet; it is such a unique plate with so many flavors. Thoroughly impressed with the Japanese Wyagu options. Highly recommend.

My wife and I came here for the first time for our anniversary. It was hands down one of the best meals EVER! The salmon and the seared tuna were insanely good.

Although the couple next to me was in an uproar that did not take away from the food. Evan and Juan provided the best service ever!! I will definitely be back soon!
