About Nagoya Steakhouse and Sushi - steak house in Tallahassee, Florida

Customer Review Summary

The grilled vegetable roll is highly praised, described as unique and delicious. However, the salad was noted to be soupy and lacking flavor. Teriyaki shrimp and hibachi salmon received criticism for having a fishy taste, suggesting lack of freshness. Noodles were unexpectedly well-received, outshining several other local Japanese restaurants. Seating arrangement was criticized for placing elderly guests near a loud table of teenagers. A long wait was experienced by some guests when the chef was delayed at the hibachi grill. Orders for pickup were ready in a reasonable time, featuring generous portions and good flavors, although prices were considered high. The restaurant's ambiance was positively highlighted, with a pleasant atmosphere and well-decorated interior. While the hibachi experience was enjoyable, some dishes like rice were found lacking, and service could be improved. Overall, the restaurant is recommended for its good food, reasonable prices, and accommodating staff.

First off, the grilled vegetable roll is very very good, I've never had anything like it. Highly recommended! Carrots, onions, bell pepper, zucchini with eel sauce on top. The salad was extremely soupy and tasteless. We had teriyaki shrimp and Hibachi salmon, both had unpleasant fishy taste which means not fresh. Noodles were a surprise hit, far superior to Kiku, Osaka, Sado Mori, or any Japanese place we've been in Tallahassee. There were plenty of booths to choose from but they decided that a pair of old folks would like to sit in close proximity to a table full of silly teenage girls. They were wrong. Us old seniors don't appreciate the pop music either. Nice quiet Japanese sounds would seem to be more appropriate. Upon arrival there was a group sitting over at the hibachi grill table. We had finished our meal when their Chef had just arrived and set up to prepare their meals. They had a very long wait.

Ordered the steak hibachi, with a side of California rolls for pickup. Order was ready within 30 minutes. It came with soup, salad and 2 cups of yum yum sauce. When all was said it done, it was 40$ which is a little high. With that being said the amount of food was impressive. Everything was cooked correct and tasted good. The California rolls were fresh and they didn't make it to the house lol. The restaurant had a good atmosphere, there was a good bit of people, but still there was some seating available. There was a mix of families and college kids. Will do again!

Pretty place nicely decorated. We decided to come here for lunch instead of our usual place for sushi. We ordered the steak teriyaki and it was good. Slightly less sweet than usual with a generous portion of fried rice and vegetables and a little bit of California roll on the side. The steak was cooked medium rare and was tender. I got the seafood tonnkatsu, which had shrimp and scallops. The seafood was good, properly cooked, and did not taste fishy. It was also grilled and had a very nice flavor that was similar to the steak. The prices were very reasonable, and the food was very accessible to a broad spectrum of palates. There are a lot of good choices for lunch on the menu, and we would recommend that you check it out. Perhaps another time will come for hibachi.

The customer service was great, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was beautifully decorated! It's a little on the pricey side but I would recommend for a classy date night out!

Great food. You can also do the community hibachi table. I got the steak and lobster tail and it was exquisite. Drinks were good too, especially that minty one. I'd got here again. Free parking lot.

Christmas 2024 dinner. In Tallahassee, this is one of the very few restaurants open on Christmas Day so kudos to them for serving the public. Great ambience. Need more pleasant employees to greet you on arrival (bunch of grumpy young women at the front). Had Hibachi. Rice wasn't the best. Sushi and sashimi was only ok. Steak was well done instead of the ordered medium. Thanks for a good time anyways.

I love this place, I got take out for my son. He had the chicken hibachi kids meal. Listen, this is a good amount. It came with soup and salad. I've been here for lunch and dinner as well. Great atmosphere and good for groups. The last time I was there, they accommodated me when I asked for no salt on my food. Great staff and place for vegetarian as well. Dined in today and requested no sauce on my rice or veggies it was excellent!! Update we went in for lunch. Great service

Passing through town and we stopped for sushi and hibachi. We were excited to be ale to order hibachi without the show. It’s three days later and I am still dreaming about the delicious filet and shrimp. This is now my gold standard for hibachi. Can’t wait for our next trip to Tallahassee. My husband loved his sushi.
