Visiting from Jacksonville, and Backwoods Crossing was a standout experience! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The crab cakes were packed with crab meat, perfectly golden, and paired with fresh herbs that elevated the dish. Every plate had generous portions and a thoughtful balance of flavors. The quality of the ingredients was clear with every bite. The atmosphere inside and outside the restaurant was just as impressive as the food. The interior had a warm, rustic charm with unique decor, creating a cozy, inviting vibe. The outdoor space was peaceful and beautifully designed—perfect for enjoying a relaxing meal surrounded by nature. To top it all off, the staff was super friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The prices were very reasonable and matched the level of food and service. If you’re ever in the Tallahassee area, Backwoods Crossing is a must-visit. Honestly, we’d drive back from Jacksonville just to eat here again!

Well, my wife and I love this place. We always start with the crab bisque and we are never disappointed. We always get one of about 4 dishes in our rotation. The Apple Brie Chicken is our favorite sandwich. Dinner means either the seafood heaven, Tuna, or the Bigfoot Pork Chop. While we wait for our appetizer, we had some excellent drinks made by Emma. All of the bartenders are good, but Emma is out of this world. Taylor was our server and could not have been any friendlier or efficient. She was very busy, yet we never felt like we were waiting for her. We top it all off with a dessert. There is a dessert chef in back who makes outstanding dishes. Our favorite is her AMAZING brûlée. Alez keeps the entire restaurant running very smoothly. An overall fantastic experience. We will continue to go often and we recommend you go as well

Backwoods Crossing: Worth the Detour (or a Whole Damn Trip) Stumbled into this farm-to-table gem on a road trip and—holy hell—it was next-level amazing. 🔥 Blue Crab Corn Bisque – Creamy, crab-packed perfection with just the right sweetness. 🔥 Big Foot (Pork Loin Glory) – Smoky, bourbon-glazed, apple-topped pork masterpiece over bourbon sweet mash. Kaley, our food guide extraordinaire, made the experience even better. This isn’t just a stop—it’s a destination. If you’re near Tallahassee, get your ass here. 11/10!!

Great and unique farm to table experience. As a MAHA advocate - the USA needs to replace half our fast food eateries with this concept. Service was top notch and food was delicious and good value for $$.

Excellent and a surprise during our drive. It is across from Staybridge hotel outside east of Tallahassee. I had a prime rib sandwich that rocked. Special I house sauce. Crab cake / Ceasars salad . Crab cakes had a bit to much filling

Had an amazing experience here. The food, drinks, and service were amazing as always. My wife and I drive almost 2 hours on special days just to dine here. We had several items off the "Garden Creations" menu. I always have to have their Blue crab bisque, and we shared the crab cakes too. Then the steak flathead was just an explosion of flavor. My old fashion and wife's Guava nice day were delicious. Wife said the Guava nice day tasted like a cream sickle. Had to take my key lime pie home while the wife enjoined the red velvet brûlée before we left. A taste coffee for the road and a full happy tummy. DaiJanae was our server, she was kind enough to take care of us outside in 40* weather cause we had our pup. Her service was above and beyond, my wife truly appreciate it.

The food was wonderful. We love that they try to source locally, we walked around the gardens after. It was all cooked perfectly, had really good flavor and excellent sauces. Service was great too. The three of us got: Bisque, house salads, stuffed crab balls, Stolen from Nawlins, Country catfish filet, hog in the henhouse, and key lime pie. (Yes, too much, intentional leftovers). Not in Tally enough but will come here every time.

Dropped in for lunch today @ 11:50 (Wednesday). Was told it would be around 10 min. 27 min later we got a table. Waitress was sweet. Food arrived quickly & was delicious. Waited 12 min after receiving the bill for the card to be picked up. Food was great but definitely allow extra time on your lunch break for seating / service.
