Customer Review Summary
Ruth's Chris Steak House offers a mixed dining experience. Some guests rave about exceptional food and service, particularly praising dishes like the Tomahawk steak, Cowboy Ribeye, and sides such as lobster mac and cheese. The ambiance is frequently described as elegant and inviting, often complemented by beautiful river views and live jazz. However, several reviews highlight significant issues, including overcooked or overly salty steaks and misleading information about menu items, such as the salmon being mistakenly identified as wild-caught. While some found the sides and desserts enjoyable, others were disappointed with bland, poorly executed dishes. Overall, the restaurant has garnered both ardent supporters and critical feedback regarding food quality despite stellar service.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House is an absolute gem! The food was exceptional, and the Tomahawk steak I had was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service was top-notch, and the ambiance was elegant and inviting—a perfect setting for a great dining experience. To top it off, I even got to see Shad Khan’s yacht while we were there, which made the evening even more special. Highly recommend this place for a top-quality steak and a memorable experience!

Very nice. I had the veal ravioli and cowboy ribeye. Be ready to grub and wine and dine. Atmosphere and service was great! Love the jazz and piano

Ruth’s Chris Steak House is often celebrated for its upscale dining, but my recent visit fell short of expectations. The ambiance is undeniably charming, especially with its view of the St. John’s River, and the service was prompt and friendly. However, there were significant issues that detracted from the overall experience. A major disappointment came from a server’s lack of knowledge regarding the salmon on the menu. When I asked whether the salmon was wild-caught or farm-raised, the server confidently assured me multiple times that it was “Atlantic wild-caught.” Knowing that Atlantic salmon is typically farm-raised, I was skeptical but went ahead with the order. Sure enough, when the dish arrived, the pale pink hue gave it away as farm-raised—far from the deep reddish-orange color of wild salmon. It was frustrating to be misled, especially when I value knowing the quality of what I’m eating. My partner ordered a steak, which, to our surprise, was also lacking in flavor. I tried a piece myself, and it simply didn’t live up to the high standards I’d expect from a steakhouse of this caliber. On a more positive note, the mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli were well-prepared, though I was puzzled that the mashed potatoes came without any gravy. To finish, we opted for the “Chocolate Sin” dessert, hoping to end the meal on a high note. Unfortunately, it was anything but—a bland, doughy bite that barely tasted of chocolate. After one taste, we couldn’t justify finishing it. The wine selection was extensive and parking was easy, but for the premium prices charged, the overall dining experience left much to be desired. As someone accustomed to fine dining, I’m willing to pay for quality and flavor, but this experience didn’t deliver on either front. I wholeheartedly cannot recommend this place.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Atmosphere Review: The service in this establishment is amazing. They are on top of everything and make sure you have everything you need. We were well taken care of! The food was good. Our appetizer and sides were great, but both our steaks were way too salty to the point we could only take a few bites. Very disappointing, especially when you’re paying $60 per steak. Too much salt ruined it for us and made it really hard to want to finish our meal. My tongue was slightly sensitive afterward from the amount of salt that was on our steaks. Now to the sides. We had the lobster mac and cheese, which was amazing, and we also had the Brussels sprouts, which were also amazing. We got the crème brûlée, and it was perfect! So light but so tasty! The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. Our view was beautiful, with views of the river and the bridge that was lit up blue. I may give this place another chance, but I wouldn’t order a steak again.

My colleague/friend came into town and wanted a good steak dinner. Ruth Chris didn't disappoint. We actually shared the Cowboy Ribeye, Salad, and a side of creamed spinach. The bread was fresh. The red wine robust. Service was 10/10 on a crowded weekend.

The food was fantastic, especially the steak. Kids enjoyed how fancy everything was, and the service was beyond exceptional. Try the escargot it was fantastic. The manager stopped at our table and asked how everything was, and then he was on the outside of the building with a squeegee to clear the windows, so we had a great view. I even noticed him carrying ice and helping staff well done for the extra mile he went to ensure the restaurant was running like a well-oiled machine and everyone had a pleasant time.. thanks again for everything it was a memorable evening.

The service was impeccable by everyone I encountered. My server Matt was sooo amazing and an absolute delight! The drinks were good, but the food was not my favorite at all. The lobster bisque was extremely watery and not creamy. The steak was alright, but the shrimp were super tough, and the cream spinach wasn't seasoned enough. The cheesecake with berries was really good! The view was wonderful as it's on the waterfront. And again, every single staff person I encountered was super friendly.

Christmas party for the office here was very nice. Our server was so sweet and rolled with our group very nicely. The food was delicious. It was my first time here, but it was everything I thought it was going to be.
