The food here is absolutely amazing, and the flavors are indescribable! Hats off to the entire kitchen staff! Because the food is so good I believe the owner and management team think we don’t mind overlooking the customer service side of things when it comes to things like heat. It's clear that the focus is on quality and taste of the food and nothing else. We spent well over $250 for dinner for 2 in an icebox! Not only did we but all the tables downstairs have their coats on during the entire meal! Very disappointing in the overall experience. Please get the heat fixed and consider a traditional Baked Alaska instead of what you’re serving now. The pork chop and peach chutney was the star of the night! And the real reason I would return.

If you are looking for an upscale, classy, and romantic place for a special event, date, or celebration, then you have found the right place here! The ambiance is amazing! The decor is fabulous! It is a 3-story restaurant with a rooftop bar and a fabulous view of Jacksonville. Cowford was recommended to me by a Yelpie friend who had been here several times, and I am grateful to him. Be sure to make reservations because this place is super popular. Our server was Kennedy, who was very welcoming, attentive, and professional with a good personality! We teased him and called him Mr. President. This was back on 12/21/24. He knew the menu inside and out. My daughter and I ordered the filet mignon with the dish of AuGratin potatoes. We were raving about how delicious our meal was! Simply perfection! I wish we didn't live so far away so we could come here more often. To accompany our meals, my daughter ordered the Judy Z Mia Mia cocktail, and I had the Florida Old Fashioned. Both drinks were very good! We ended our evening with a couple of incredibly delicious desserts. My daughter had the Cinnamon Roll Creme Brulee, which she loved. I had the Chocolate cake, which wasn't your ordinary slice of cake but some perfectly delicious round lava type cake that was out of this world good! I still remember how it melted in my mouth! It was served with a scoop of chocolate ice cream. Fantastic. 5/5 stars! We loved where we were seated on the second floor right next to the open space in the middle where we could look down into the 1st floor at the bar. That was so cool! We were so pleased to be there. We chose valet parking but there may be street parking or a parking garage nearby. Their elevator is very roomy with a wooden wall carving. I'm still not sure what it represented, but it was very interesting. We had a great evening and can't wait to return.

We were visiting from out of town and celebrated our anniversary here. They have complimentary valet if you're dining, and I recommend a reservation. There is bar seating available for walk-ins. The building itself is really nice, spacious, and smartly decorated. There is also a rooftop, we popped up after dinner and I wished we'd arrived a bit earlier for a pre-dinner rooftop beverage. Service is top notch. Alison, our server, was absolutely fantastic. She went over the menu with us, made recommendations, was friendly and even took some photos for us. The menu has lots of options for everyone, and some non-steak entrees. We split the duckfat cornbread appetizer- skip this one, it's dry and difficult to eat because the cornbread falls apart. We both had filet mignon and both were cooked beautifully. They use a pecan smoke, which was a bit strong for my liking, but overall a really great steak. We added the bone marrow butter to ours. We also ordered the potatoes au gratin and brussel sprouts as sides, both were delicious. For dessert we split the key lime dessert and loved it.

Cowford’s was great! We had a reservation but decided to go a little early to have a drink at the bar first and it ended up being happy hour! Our drinks were ok but they weren’t great. The lemon drop tasted like cheap lemonade and the espresso martini was missing just a hint of sweetness. But the wine was great. We had the Cowford Rocks as an appetizer and it was sooo delicious! I definitely recommend! Once we were sat for dinner we ordered a bottle of wine which was very good and ordered the porterhouse, risotto, and asparagus. The risotto was the best I’ve ever had, it was so delicious. The asparagus was good and the porterhouse was good too but we ordered medium rare and ours came out more rare. The parts that were medium rare were great but most of it was rare so it was very chewy and eventually I just couldn’t eat it so my boyfriend finished it. We both didn’t feel comfortable saying anything especially because they were the ones that sliced it so they should have seen that it was rare. But overall it was a great experience and a great meal.

We couldn’t have selected a better choice to celebrate our FIRST wedding anniversary than Cowford! From the moment we arrived, service was first! We originally visited this restaurant during its grand opening, so years later we were excited to return for a special occasion. We sat on the first floor and immediately noticed that the noise level was low to medium with ambient jazz in the background. That certainly set the tone for a sexy evening. Even the busyness of the wait and kitchen staff was found to be more of a compliment than a distraction. Our reservation was at 7PM, which made for great moody lighting as candles were sprinkled throughout the space giving it a truly textured evening ambiance. Our server’s name was John and he was extremely knowledgeable of not only the menu options, but also great items for suggestion. It kind of felt like we all selected our dinner options together, which was truly helpful in choosing menu items to complement the other best. We ordered the pork chops (medium well) and New York strip (medium) with shareable potatoes au gratin and the spinach and kale blend. They also provide a complementary assortment of breads which were independently delicious and especially charming because of the lime, chive butter spread. Suuuper light and tasteful. The wine list is a bit of a doozy, but definitely filled with great options no matter your palette. We had an AMAZING dining experience! Our only regret is in having not selected the duck fat cornbread. But there’s always next time, right? 🙃

We parked in the parking garage next to the restaurant very convenient! I had the Chocolate cherry whiskey for a drink very strong, sweet and delicious! The staff were so friendly and helpful! Our waitress Alison was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu and answered our questions kindly. The atmosphere was a little loud I couldn’t hear my boyfriend across from me without leaning over. I ordered the Caesar salad and the Tuna Tartare! Flavorful meals. I am obsessed with the bread basket they gave the foccacia was DELICIOUS! My boyfriend got the NY Strip and it was medium and seasoned delicious! The crispy crust was to die for! I would recommend this place!! We got the Cinnamon roll brûlée AMAZING!!

Celebrated a very special occasion which is my boyfriend’s birthday. Reservation was done online and valet parking was extremely convenient. Overall, our food experience was unforgettable. I ordered an Australian Wagyu Strip while he ordered A5- Satsuma Wagyu. It is one of the best steaks we ever had! Potatoes Au Gratin was my favorite side dish. Overall a great experience and will definitely come back!

Celebrated my husband’s last year of his 30s at the Cowford last night! He’s in the military so this was the first birthday we’ve been able to celebrate together in almost 10 years so it needed to be special. I didn’t tell him where we were going, just that he couldn’t come to dinner in flip-flops and board shorts 😂 We were impressed from the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out. We were greeted by a friendly staff and promptly taken to our table where we were then greeted by our server (I wish I could remember her name, we sat near the corner toward the front of the building) because she was amazing—was very knowledgeable of the dishes, was able to help us make decisions when (when everything looks so good and you wish you could order 1 of everything). They have an extensive wine and cocktail list, loads of fabulous options, we eventually settled on a Malbec for the table. For starters, we had the bone marrow and steak tartar to start—both were incredible! The bone marrow was topped with this bacon marmalade and it was just amazing—a dish you just wish would last forever. The steak tartar was amazing, however I think one more crostini (it came with 3) would have been better for the amount on the plate, not to say I was also fine just eating it off the plate with my fork 😂. For our mains, my husband ordered the tomahawk (rare), I had the wagyu spinalis (medium rare) and we had asparagus and risotto sides. Hands down, THE BEST steak we have both ever had—and we’ve been to a place that rhymes with ‘Booth’s Priss’, steakhouses in London, South Africa, all over. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth, didn’t want it to end. By the time we reached desert, I was toppers, we couldn’t leave without. My husband wanted the baked Alaska, which came with a sponge, pistachio ice cream, and merengue. As the rest of our meals—AMAZING. The roof was closed due to a private event, but we were told about the 5-7 happy hours and experience on the roof and we hope to return soon to check that one off next! Would just line to thank the Cowford and staff for hosting an unforgettable evening for my husband’s birthday.
