Embers Wood Grill is a top-notch spot for anyone who loves expertly prepared food in a warm, inviting setting. A friend and I visited recently, and we were thoroughly impressed. We started with their meat rolls, which were perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. For the main course, we had a steak with mashed potatoes, and it was absolutely divine. The steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of smoky, grilled goodness—while the mashed potatoes were creamy and rich, making for the perfect pairing. The service was attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made the experience even better.

This is probably the best steakhouse in Gainesville. The char on the steaks was impeccable and all the sides were fantastic. We went for the first time for an intimate celebration and they might the night unforgettable. Everything is totally worth the money and the service was immaculate. We can't wait to go back!

We had a wonderful time eating at Embers. Just off the road from heavy traffic, this classic steak house did not disappoint. Donnie, our waiter and the whole service team, were terrific. The Steak and Wine offerings on the menu are impressive. Not too many anywhere can match the selection. USDA aged select steaks and renowned 🍷 offerings. We the orderef the short rib meal and a filet mignon with sides of smoked asparagus, lobster mashed patatos, and mushrooms. The bread service was a nice start and the lemon layer cake was a prefect finish. The bar was happening and had availability for walk in service with numerous concoctions available. The espresso martinis were flowing and seemed popular with other guests. We opted for an old fashion and pinot grigeo to start and with dinner had a nice Napa red blend from Hour Glass vineyards which accompanied our red meat choices perfectly. For a town the size of Gainesville FL it is impressive that this level of excellence in terms of a streak house is an option!! Get reservations especially on weekends if you can. The large parties around us were well taken care of including the banquet space which holds about 20. Lastly this is a great place to celebrate special occasions.

Terrible service and alright food. Our server, Melvin, made my boyfriend and I feel really unwelcome (maybe because we were POC college students) and his demeanor was rude overall. He suggested pairing a wine with our meal and walked away without giving us options and came back with a $19 glass of wine without introducing what the it was. He rarely checked in on us and it took over 20 minutes of us being done before giving us the check. Our server made us feel as if we weren’t qualified to be there or we were too stupid to know proper dining etiquette. The host/hostess was also a bunch of teenage kids messing around which really bought down the first impression when you walk through the door. The interior and atmosphere of the whole place was also poor given the “5 star fine dining” title this restaurant has. The steak was mediocre at best and it was definitely not worth the $50. This place definitely does not live up to the reputation it has.

We went here for our anniversary and had a relatively good experience. The food was great and our steaks were cooked perfectly. Nate was our server and he was very friendly and accommodating. He paid attention to the fact that it was our 10 year anniversary and gave us free delicious sorbet with a “Happy 10 year anniversary” message on the plate. My only complaint is that the restaurant was a bit overbooked for the staff available and we waited about an hour for our food.

Had dinner here, and the food was amazing. We also had wonderful service from our server, Nate! The pork medallions were delicious. My husband had the Hand trimmed rib eye with mac cheese and chard onions, all of which were wonderful! Highly recommend the Bananas Foster Cheesecake, 10 out of 10! The atmosphere was ok. They could do with a little softer lighting, but overall, this place is a 10!

I made reservations for dinner here, recommended by a friend. They have a fabulous wine list to choose from. The decor is okay but the service was really good. We had the pleasure of having Steven as our waiter, excellent man. Steven was knowledgeable of the food and wine menu and recommended some good items. I loved the lamb chops and mashed sweet potatoes I ordered. I had a great dinner.
