Medium Rare

Everything about this place is amazing! From the moment you walk in, the vibes are great! The place is super cozy and welcoming! We were seated in a cute window spot and immediately started with mimosas, then we started with the parfait for my dining partner and mixed green salad for myself(gluten free and vegetarian) we then enjoyed steak frites with poached eggs for myself. It is gluten free but not vegetarian. My dining pattern had American breakfast sandwich with frites that. They were both phenomenally delicious! Cannot wait to come back for brunch! Might even try dinner next time!

I’m obsessed with the sauce and steak, it’s so insanely good. The sauce is a warm mushroomy, beefy enhancement for the perfectly cooked, tender steak. If you asked me what my final meal would be, I might say this. I love that they have a set menu. Everything is so good, the sourdough bread and butter is hard to beat. The salad is light and makes you feel better about eating two full plats of steak and fries.

We went around 7:30 on Saturday, it was very busy but they got us in immediately. Our server was great and so was the support staff; everything was perfectly timed! She was so attentive we never had to ask for anything. The food was perfectly cooked and it was delicious. We expected it be a bit expensive but it was honestly a very fair price for the amount of food you received. Did you know they come around with seconds!? 😳 We ubered from the hotel so parking wasn’t an issue personally. 12/10 on every mark

Medium rare is one of my most favorite restaurants in the DC area. My husband and I stumbled upon it on one of first weekends in the area and it’s been a go-to date spot ever since. The second portion of steak and frites just really sets it apart. Celebrating a promotion? Medium rare. Birthday? Medium rare. Valentine’s Day? Medium rare. Super hungry after walking around the national zoo? Medium rare. Excellent value for the price and the flavors are 10/10. Servers all work together so sometimes we can get less than stellar service during busy times but the majority of the time it’s great. The seating on the grates is over the metro so you’ll feel a strong breeze every couple minutes when a train passes through. They have a red pepper sauce that is dairy free! The fries are sooo crispy yet soft on the inside. Perfect really.
