About CUT by Wolfgang Puck - DC - steak house in Washington District of, Columbia

Customer Review Summary

CUT by Wolfgang Puck - DC offers an enjoyable dining experience with positive feedback on the ambiance and some standout dishes. The pretzel bread and cocktails received praise, although prices for drinks are high. Dish recommendations include the Wagyu bolognese, American Wagyu Bavette, rockfish, and the Basque-style cheesecake. Several reviews highlighted the excellent service, attentive staff, and the restaurant's ability to accommodate dietary restrictions. However, there were mixed experiences regarding food quality, with some items criticized as flavorless or overcooked, particularly steak in one instance. Parking is available at a considerable cost, and while restaurant week menus provide value, some diners felt the standard pricing is steep for the quality. Overall, while many guests enjoyed their meals and service, others were left disappointed with the experience, particularly regarding service during peak times.

So I came here for restaurant week and what can I say? This place is so good! Pretzel bread was so good my friend had to order another one! So a great start. Everyone else was going dry January so they enjoyed the mocktails but for me if I’m paying $16 (how much the mocktails are) it needs to have some punch to it. Also the featured restaurant week cocktails were 15… I think I got a Long Island. Group ordered the butter lettuce salad- clean tasting I loved. You can get the bluefin tuna but if for r week be mindful of how add ons can impact that restaurant week price. The Ceasar was a favorite as well. Second course: I got the wagyu bolognese and it slapped! The rockfish was also super good! My friend got the crab rice which she enjoyed and of course someone got the steak (up charge as well). And all of us loved our food. Really enjoyed the rockfish. We ordered all desserts from the r week so churros, cheesecake and soufflé. We have no complaints about the foood at all! All the food is good- make sure if they are busy you double check what was ordered. Thought I ordered a Long Island but yeah… cocktails are like 18-27 ish? Be prepared for that. Still water is $10, sparking water 10$ by the bottle so be mindful of that. Ordering more pretzel bread is gonna cost you like $4 so agains be mindful. The place is cute they didn’t rush us out and honestly no issues there! Stop here!

Came here for Restaurant week in February 2025. It's priced at $65 a person which is a great value considering how expensive their regular menu is. All of the items in the RW menu are on their dinner menu. The interior is classy not modern like their Vegas location. Cocktails range from $20-$30 each so it can really add up fast. Valet parking is $25. We all enjoyed most of the dishes though the rockfish was a tad overcooked. I would definitely get the American Wagyu Bavette au Poivre Frites, the Basque Style Cheesecake and Dark Chocolate Soufflé again. Been to the Vegas location couple of times and that one is a tad better. I'll come back to try their regular dinner menu though.

The ambiance is the only thing that saved our experience at CUT. The food seafood tower was delicious but the other food was flavorless and it absolutely lacked value. The steak was just steak. No seasoning and needed steak sauce. We paid $24 for bread for the table. Family of 4, $600, wouldn’t have minded paying that for good food. Definitely a waste of money on my daughters birthday . Service was HORRIBLE AND VERY SLOW. The waiter was VERY INATTENTIVE. CUT definitely doesn’t align with the Wolfgang Puck brand. I wouldn’t recommend for dinner.

Simply put, Amazing! Dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s CUT has an intimate, romantic, and cozy atmosphere that really makes you feel at ease and welcome; also making it the perfect dinner out as a couple! The staff were all immensely friendly and very helpful with my significant others gluten and black pepper allergies! They took great care of that as well as the both of us in general. The craft cocktails were incredible with perfect balances of flavor and aesthetically appealing looks! Our dinner, she and I both got a steak, which looked so amazing I forgot to take a picture, was absolutely a gastro game changer! We both agree that they were the best steaks we’ve ever had by far. The flavor wasn’t overpowering, it was just right and the temperatures were simply perfect! If you're in DC and have an appetite for steak then CUT by Wolfgang Puck should be you’re first consideration!

The food was delicious, but I’d love to try Cut outside of restaurant week. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I really appreciated their service. After we finished our salads, I noticed we hadn’t gotten our pretzel bread (which was yummy). But no worries, they quickly fixed it and when there seemed to be a bit of a delay later, a manager came over to make sure everything was okay. I say that to say, they were really busy, but whenever there was a problem, someone in a suit or another server would step in to help. I stuck to the pre-fix menu. The Endive Caesar’s red endive is a bit bitter, but it pairs well with the Caesar vinaigrette and bread crumbs. I’m a big fan of the American Waygu Bavette’s flavor, but it was covered in peppercorn, which made it hard to taste. I ended up scraping it off and enjoying the meat’s flavor without the heavy peppercorn. I also ordered it medium temperature, and it was pretty tender, but not quite medium. For dessert, I couldn’t resist the churros. They were made perfectly and looked adorable. The dulce de leche sauce was my favorite of the two sauces.

The best lunch, ever! Daniel, our server, was so welcoming and explained all the amazing menu items. The food was delicious; Steak Salad, Mac & Cheese, Basque Cheesecake. We can't wait to go back for dinner, this Spring!

CUT by Wolfgang Puck delivers steak perfection! The best I've had in a quite a long time, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The seafood was incredibly fresh, complementing the steak impeccably. Desserts wowed as well. A true culinary delight that elevates the dining experience to new heights. Exceptional!

I was looking forward to a wonderful fine dining experience at the CUT by Wolfgang Puck - DC for a special occasion. Unfortunately, my dining experience was very disappointing to say the least!!! The service was not up to par. The food I must say is basic and wait time for dessert was ridiculous. I had to remind the inattentive waiter before he brought my dessert. However, the beautifully served Crackling Rosie Mocktail is delicious and refreshing, steak was cooked to the degree of doneness I requested, And yes, thanks for the complimentary birthday dessert.
