Loved the place, food was fantastic and service was great as well. Definitely a great place for a date. The deserts are not the best but everything else is good. The steak was perfect for medium rare, nice sear on the outside and a rare but warm pink center and the pork chop was equally good. The only turn off was the waiter asking for more than the 20% already added to the check

Food was so delicious. Please get their calamari! Get their steaks! Get their GARLIC MASH! Get their Mac & Cheese. Just get everything 😋 it was so good. I’m in my late 20s and was lucky to get a reservation here for Valentines Day & I’m so grateful. 10/10. I wish I took my pictures, BUT I was hungry lol.

The staff at Bobby Vans are some of the most friendly and accommodating in DC. They know the menu, work together, they’re friendly, and you feel at home. The food was ok. I like big bites of flavor and that didn’t come through. That doesn’t mean bad, it just isn’t for me. Everything was there and most people would enjoy it. I like over the top bursting in your mouth which most people don’t like. The French onion soup is a sweet one vs salty and savory which was perfect. The linguini with clams is loaded with clam meat, but the Brussels sprouts were the show stopper for me. They are baked vs fried and covered in cheese and prosciutto. The Brussels sprouts are awesome. My friend enjoyed his sea bass but said it was a bit dry. He didn’t mind because he likes meat over cooked. Go for the quilt Cabernet as well, the other is bad. Quilt has the quality and taste you’d expect at a steak house. The other one is what you get at an all inclusive hotel where there is literally nothing else. One big bonus, a lot of dc steakhouses started charging for bread, it’s included here. Was a nice surprise.

Tender steak & fresh sushi!! Came here one day after work without a reservation and was quickly accommodated; service was above and beyond. The restaurant was very busy (multiple company parties happening during holiday season), but they still paid careful attention and ensured I was taken care of. I ordered the spicy tuna roll and the diablo filet—hand rolled and cooked to perfection. Will be back. A true DC staple.

Bobby Van's is not shy about what it does, probably because it does it so well. And that is steak. Service was outstanding, the floor manager asked what the occasion was and I mentioned my honeymoon, within 2 minutes he had brought over champagne to congratulate. This made my wife's and I night! In a city like this to be made to feel special is a rare thing and they did it! We shared the calamari (crispy) and it was great. We also shared the filet duo and prosciutto mac and cheese. All were great. Steak cooked perfectly and the duo provided a nice balance between 2 phenomenal choices. Having 2 flavor profiles to go between was really nice. The Mac and cheese was on point. Crunchy panko and a delicious cheese made this a great addition to the steaks. With all the heavy flavors you would think this meal would be too rich, but the truth is we just couldn't put our forks down! Thank you Bobby Van's for giving us a wonderful meal to share on our honeymoon culinary journey.

Dining at Bobby Van’s Steakhouse in DC was a hit list item for years. We were greeted immediately, offered our choice of tables, seated and given our menus promptly. The high back booths, wooden trims and elevated ceiling gave us a comforting traditional steakhouse vibe. Specials were presented by Monica, who was omnipresent throughout our meal. After ordering our prerequisite martinis we selected the traditional classics; wedge salads, bone-in rib eye, filet mignon and creamed spinach. Except for our martinis, which were in their shakers too long and watery, all our selections were perfect. My filet was the best ever, cooked to perfection. Kudos to the chef. When possible, I will gladly revisit Bobby Van’s.

We started with bang bang shrimp, which was crunchy, flavorful, and honestly some of the best bang bang shrimp I’ve ever had. We each had two drinks. I had wine, and my counterpart had Beer. I ordered the filet mignon with a crabcake, and my counterpart ordered an aged ribeye. We also had the asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The filet mignon was buttery, smooth, and flavorful and had a fantastic sauce. I loved every single bite, and I would order that again again. The crabcake was moderate. It didn’t have a ton of flavor and didn’t have a good sear on the outside, so it was fine, but I should’ve just ordered the fillet on its own. The mashed potatoes were flavorful and moist, and the asparagus was perfectly cooked to where it had a little bite but wasn’t wilted. The dry ribeye had a lot of fat on it, which was kind of surprising for being a $70 steak. I think we left about 4 ounces of just fat on the plate, unfortunately. The service was excellent. They did not rush us at all. I felt very welcome here, and I enjoyed the experience.
