Bobby Van's Grill in Washington, DC, exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was lively and sophisticated, making it perfect for a special occasion. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. I chose the salmon, which was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The accompanying sides, especially the mashed potatoes, were also delicious. This restaurant is an excellent choice for seafood and steak lovers, and I highly recommend it!

Had an amazing experience here! Our waiter, Michael, was very hospitable and personable with great energy. The food was just as good; I recommend the Mac and Cheese and the dry aged steak!

I came to dine with a friend very hungry and left completely disappointed. I ordered the thick bacon as an appetizer and a steak salad dish as an entree. The bacon was served smothered in some white goo to hide the fibery chewy old meat. I ordered the steak medium to medium well. The old meat past its prime was served looking gray and completely unappetizing. The service was super slow even though the restaurant was only half full. Dishes such as burgers were sold out and the waiter never told us anything until we asked for it. The drinks were okay. The hostess was so nice and welcoming, I could not have imagined that I would spend almost $200 on this unremarkable dining experience.

We’ve had our office holiday happy hour here two years in a row and the service is always excellent! The food and drinks are all delicious! We’ve tried every appetizer on the menu and a few seafood options and no complaints from our office. The decor is a bit dated so if you’re looking for hip and modern, this is probably not the place for you. It is more of a consistent and classic sort of vibe.

We started off with 3 appetizers.the table favorites was between the big nacho and bang bang shrimp. Actually all of them were winning! The calamari texture was winning chili sauce was what made the day. The Nacho all of it. The bang bang shrimp was just banging. The burger wasn’t as impressive because it lacked distinct flavor and juices. Next the Jamaican jerk could have had a little more shrimp other than that pretty basic. Next chicken Parmesan… the chicken was good in terms juices and flavor. The spaghetti sauce needed a little salt and pepper and more noodles to match up with the large chicken portion. The second order of chicken Parmesan felt the seasoning was lacking and chicken was dry. The salmon was cooked good but lacked seasoning. The mashed potatoes were ok and the broccolini needed seasoning. We shared the steak and crab cake. It was really good. Nice portion size. Overall we would come because of service and the fact that they can accommodate large groups. They don’t have Valet so wear your walking shoes or plan parking in advance. I love the wait staff here. I love the vibe! Classy and original!

Excellent attention to detail! We had a business dinner for 20. Service was incredible. Food ~ perfection. I forgot my credit card and staff contacted me, then met met me the following morning so I could reclaim it. We'll be returning on our next trip to DC!

Wonderful time at our company holiday party. Staff were fantastic. My only complaint was we had a seafood tower as a part of our preorder menu and it wasn't provided. The receipt was adjusted with no problem but I would have really loved to try it. Other food and appetizers were amazing.

Great atmosphere for lunch. Service was good. The soup de jour when I went was potato and grilled corn which was delicious. I ordered the 6 oz petite fillet, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. I ordered the fillet medium which it was but it was over charred. The char took away from the texture and created bitterness. It was seasoned but couldn't taste it beyond the char. The mashed potato was presented well but again under seasoned. The creamed spinach has an interesting smooth but crunchy texture. Unfortunately it too was under seasoned. I did not finish my meal. The bread brought to the table was lovely. Warm and crisp outside with a Lovely chew and tender inside, the butter which accompanied it was yummy. I ordered a glass of Cabernet since I was having steak and it was very flat.. unflavorful and I didn't finish it. Almost like it was from an opened bottle of wine that may have been stale. They were kind and took it off the bill. The service was just enough. Not pushy and very polite. Restroom was clean, very hot water. Also I wished they put salt and pepper on the table. Having to ask for it twice was a turn off.
