Customer Review Summary

Restaurant 1858 is beautifully located at the base of Seven Falls, providing a stunning atmosphere. The restaurant's decor is impressive, and many guests noted the excellent service, with some standout waitstaff. Food reviews are mixed: while BBQ shrimp, brussel sprouts, and certain trout dishes received high praise, others found their meals poorly cooked and overpriced. Reservations are recommended as seating can be limited, especially during peak times. Despite the beautiful surroundings, some diners suggest the experience does not justify the cost, recommending alternatives nearby for better value. Overall, it offers a memorable dining experience for some, while others had significant issues with service and food quality.

We made reservations to eat here first lunch after we hike the Seven Falls. The restaurant is wonderfully decorated and surrounded by the beautiful Falls. After a long and wonderful hike and climb we started off with a nice cold refreshing beer. Followed by the BBQ Shrimp and a side of the Green Chilli and the Red Trout. The Shrimp and Chilli was excellent. The Red Trout was OK, but the sauce did not pair well with the fish. The waitress was awesome, she was nice and friendly and made our dining experience enjoyable.

Beautifully situated at the bottom of the falls - good cocktails and trout served 7 ways. Tried the skillet 🍳 trout with bacon it was delicious. Would definitely recommend for a fun culinary adventure

It was rainy day so I didn't get to walk up the falls but instead trying the Restaurant 1858 (named after the gold rush time 1858). Trout fish was highly recommended for the best dish. I got both pan seared and BBQ styles. Service is excellent and perfect atmosphere. I was one of the first customers that day for lunch and I didn't reserve but got seated right away but recommend reservation in high season.

The rushing falls around the restaurant and the interior design was amazing, it is down hill from there. The location is the only appealing thing about this place, I would recommend just going to see the falls and not dine here. Some of the restaurant staff was great the others not so much. Our drinks were often empty, so was our neighboring tables. Was handed the check after the main course, without asking if we wanted dessert, bill was incorrect, other staff were pointing at us. Overall I would not recommend this establishment, especially for the price tag is not even remotely worth the value. Go to the falls for a day trip, save your money and go a nice steakhouse afterwards for a good value.

The service is great. Make sure to have reservations. The bar isn't big so don't count on getting a seat. The food is really good, pay attention to the specials as they are usually the best. The earlier your reservation, typically the better table you will get.

Nestled at the base of Seven Falls, 1858 provided a much welcomed reprieve from the 244 stairs summit descent. Although we were 40 mins early for our reservation, we were promptly seated. Our fantastic waiter, Sean, patiently helped us sort through the bevy of house cocktails and menu options. We decided to go with the brussel sprouts appetizer. My wife ordered the quinoa bowl and I went with the bison burger. The quinoa bowl was very light yet flavorful while the bison burger was insanely juicy (most bison that I've had wasn't). Note, the restaurant is part of the Broadmoor resort so a 20% service fee was automatically added to the bill.

The Falls were beautiful, but if you are going to eat here, I wish you the best. We love the Broadmoor but this place was a disaster. If you want to experience eating inside an igloo you might enjoy some part of it. The food is not worth the price at all. Nothing was cooked throughly…my risotto was still crunchy. My mom’s “well-done” burger was still mooing at us (not just a little pink). Servers were very rude. Finally, we understand it’s a walking park, but when the ground is icy and it’s dark with freezing weather, please don’t lie to us and say we will get you a ride and then act confused when nothing comes 30min later. Just say it to my face so we can get it over with and take the struggle bus back home or to the hospital after I break my coccyx. And to be honest, you should not have to walk 20-30 min if you are paying $100-$200 for food. Let’s make things reasonable. Thank you.

This was a very tasty experience and perfectly timed for the end of our arduous hike up and down the falls and the views at the top. Definitely a higher class restaurant so we felt a little weird going in with our hiking clothes, but once we took our first bites of the food we couldn’t think of anything else. My burger was cooked to perfection, exactly how I ordered it. The rest of my party also enjoyed theirs!
