Customer Review Summary
Pepper Tree Restaurant offers a lovely atmosphere with table-side cooking that many diners enjoy. Service and views are highly praised, particularly from the hillside location overlooking Colorado Springs. While some dishes like the lobster Maine and Steak Diane received high marks, others, such as the Jerusalem lamb and sea bass, were disappointing. Inconsistent service was noted, especially during busy times, with some diners experiencing inattentiveness from staff. Overall, experiences vary significantly; some guests raved about the food and experience, while others had negative encounters and expressed dissatisfaction. The restaurant is appreciated for its romantic vibe and fine dining experience, though some felt the prices didn’t always match the quality of food.

I was really excited about going to this place. The atmosphere was lovely. The theatrics of the table side cooking were amazing. With all that said I didn’t like my steak. I think where I went wrong is that I don’t like sauces. My husband got the steak with the sauce and he loved his steak. I like just an old fashioned steak, no fancy stuff. The steak was too fancy for me. One of the people at my table ordered the sea bass. She said it tasted like fish sticks. Overall the place was amazing but I didn’t love my food.

Loved the service and the view of Colorado Springs. My favorite was the lobster Maine and the banana foster. The side salad was also good too, and i loved the experience where they cooked in front of you. It’s a very cute place for fine dining. Tho it’s an expensive place some might say, I had one guest say the price doesn’t match the food. But I thought the Lobster and Banana Foster really stood out

My husband and I went here for our first anniversary and we loved it! The food and atmosphere are both wonderful. It’s a small, intimate space which makes it feel more special for a night out. Our reservation was close to closing and while the servers themselves were very kind, we did feel that they were less attentive during the meal and sat for a while without being asked about drink refills and such. However, this was a small detail and our overall experience was great for our first anniversary!

The food was so bad I didn’t even take a photo of it. I had Jerusalem lamb or something along those lines. The sauces were all savory or spicy, and I thought for a meat as salty as the one they served me, they should have some sweet sauce to cut all the acidity. The drinks were so bad! My husband wanted to try their beetroot juice and the server said it was sweet but when she brought it, it was bitter. He couldn’t even drink it. Why say something is sweet when it isn’t? That to say, service was terrible. I have never once seen waitresses as inattentive and unmotivated as the ones here. I can’t really speak to the ambience because I think they were trying to go for a cozy feel but the attitudes of the servers take away from the warmth that one should experience. I will never dine here again!

Fantastic food, fantastic service, and a beautiful view of downtown COS from the hillside. We got the chef special lobster on a puff pastry as an appetizer. 10/10 My wife got the salmon with lobster 10/10 And I got the filet mignon 10/10 Staff was very nice, knowledgeable, and attentive. Definitely will be coming back again!

It was a great experience to see them cook the steak in front of the customers! Although we didn’t order the specialty we definitely enjoyed the ambience and romantic vibe of the place … for sure we will come back

I came here with my boyfriend last night for a nice dinner and the experience here was awesome! The steaks we ordered (the diane and pepper steak) were prepared table side by the chef, rodrigo. he’s a very nice guy and was fun to chat with! the service was good especially considering how busy they were. the steaks and drinks were absolutely impeccable and we will be back!

The food was incredible. Service was great. I love a good view of the city. French onion soup was amazing. Steak Diane is the better option but you can’t go wrong with either or. psa gentlemen, you will be asked to remove your hat.
