Customer Review Summary

La Taverne offers a French-influenced steak house experience at the Broadmoor. Service is generally praised, with several servers noted for their attentiveness and courtesy. Reviews highlight an enjoyable atmosphere, described as beautiful and charming. Food experiences vary widely; some dishes like the prime rib and crab soup received positive feedback, while others such as the French onion soup and ham and brie ciabatta were disappointing due to lack of flavor or improper preparation. Complimentary desserts, like the eclair, added to the positive experiences. Overall, there seems to be a disconnect between the restaurant's pricing and the quality of food, leading to mixed sentiments about whether it meets expectations.

Interesting steak house with French influence at the Broadmoor. I enjoyed my prime rib and the service was fast and attentive. Our French onion soup and the other chicken entre needed more flavor however, and overall I thought prices were too high for what we received. Nice vibes, but expected more for the cost.

Our server Johnny was great. Very courteous and kind. Red bird dish was great. My prime rib was medium rare although I had asked for medium rare. They were kind enough to recook it and give us free tea, coffee and dessert. Overall we had a wonderful experience.

Service was exemplary. They helped to make my proposal memorable. They even brought out complimentary eclair dessert. Atmosphere was charming. I ordered the shrimp salad entree because i wanted lighter dish. The amount of food in that dish was equivalent to a side salad; so I was still hungry after eating it.

A very beautiful atmosphere. Our waitress was difficult to flag down though. The sourdough was delicious but the ceaser salad was inedible as it was extra fishy - as in it tasted like someone squirted a fish oil capsule on it. And we make our own with anchovies but this was awful. My daughter didnt want to ruin a special lunch with her grandpa so she said nothing. However I tried a bite. The pistacio eclair dessert was elegant and delicious.

We had a very poor experience a couple days ago. While the atmosphere and service were good, our food was terrible. It’s surprising as most reviews here are good so I don’t know what happened. I ordered a ham and brie ciabatta. What I got was some ham with no evidence of Brie, on overly-toasted white bread, one slice of which was a heel! My husband’s sandwich was similar. Very disappointing, especially considering the price.

Family dinner to celebrate a milestone birthday. Service was prompt, helpful, classy. Food was rich, robust, and delicious. We had an excellent time and will certainly visit her again.

We wanted to share our recent disappointment with our dining experience. This used to be a place we looked forward to visiting when we are at the Broadmore, but the experience has unfortunately declined. The menu, once creative and exciting, has become oversimplified, and the food quality was very underwhelming—bland, overly salty, and not reflective of the premium pricing. While the service staff was still very courteous and attentive, the sense of exclusivity and distinction that once set this restaurant apart seems to have diminished a lot. Regrettably, it no longer feels aligned with its reputation.

T’was fun walking though different realms, like we started in a bar area and ended up in a garden. Service was absolutely top notch, our server Mohamed (I hope I got that right) was very attentive, made sure we had drinks, proper silverware, and gave us complimentary dessert, he made sure we’re taken care of. I really liked the crab soup
