Customer Review Summary
The steaks at Alexander's Steakhouse are consistently praised for their quality and flavor, with recommendations for ribeye cap and wagyu. Appetizers like the hamachi shots and salads (especially tomato/watermelon and beet/persimmon) receive positive feedback, though some dishes could be improved in execution. The ambiance is described as romantic with attentive and friendly service, enhancing the dining experience. Many reviewers appreciate the presentation of the dishes and the inventive dessert offerings. However, some guests noted issues like portion sizes and minor inconsistencies in food temperatures and seasoning. Reservations are recommended for special occasions, and the restaurant is considered pricey but worth the splurge for high-quality dining. Dietary restrictions are accommodated, and guests have highlighted great attention to detail from the staff. Overall, reviews reflect a mix of exceptional food experiences with some areas for improvement.

The steaks are all great of course. The salads are really amazing and are worth a visit on their own (tomato/watermelon, beet/persimmon). If you see ribeye cap on the menu, you should order it. Also great: steak tartare, bone marrow, octopus, shiga ohmi, and beef tongue.

This restaurant was very good. I wish I had taken the opportunity to have the wagyu or caviar service. Made a decision to eat lighter. So I have the hamachi shots, scallops, and oysters. In my opinion, the oysters were overpowered by the mignonette topping. The hamachi shots were delicious but not necessarily shots because they didn't cleanly come out of the shot glasses. There was too much radish on top. Aesthetically it was a great presentation but not practical for actually eating. The scallops to me were just okay. I'm guessing the real bell of the ball for the menu are the wagyu choices which I skipped so, that's why my reading is a four-star for this review. I got the matcha creme brulee for dessert. I just didn't enjoy the texture. Matcha typically makes things taste a little grainy.

Romantic steakhouse with dim lighting. They offer halal wagyu from Australia and it’s a nice treat from the standard beef cuts offered here. They always start off with an amuse bouche and their Hamachi shots are some of the best refreshing appetizers. I love the salt tasting plates that they bring with the cuts of meats. The wagyu cuts we had were smooth and delicious, like butter. If you have dietary restrictions, let them know beforehand, as they do sometimes add non halal wagyu fat to their butter and many of the appetizers are made with animal fat/ alcohol. They were able to accommodate for our dietary restrictions and for celiac. We celebrated our anniversary here and they gave us a celebratory dessert. We always get the soufflés, which are made fresh and try their desserts. And at all Alexander’s they end the meal off with cotton candy. Make reservations for a special occasion to make sure you get a table and for special occasions, they will give you a handwritten card with a dessert at the end. Be prepared though, Alexander’s is pricey compared to other steakhouses. I believe they were rated with 1 Michelin star.

We had the best anniversary dinner. Everything was beautifully plated. Amazing presentation and so so so good! You really get what you pay for. My partner and I both got Chef’s Tasting which comes with 8 courses. We also ordered a few drinks on the side which were very good and also had a beautiful presentation. The servers were extremely attentive. They saw me struggling to take a selfie with my partner and immediately came to the rescue and got us some amazing photos at the table. We are genuinely in awe of the service, the food and the drinks. We also received a to go box (1each) of a small snack to take home that includes a small jar of butter and jam and a tea bag. The experience does not end until you are home. Thank you to the servers and to the chef for an amazing, unforgettable experience. It was definitely worth the price.

I recently visited Alexander's, and I was really impressed. The steak was amazing — perfectly cooked, super tender, and packed with flavor. You can definitely tell they use high-quality meat. The staff were also super friendly and made the whole experience even better. The vibe of the place was great too. The only small downside was that the portions were a bit on the smaller side, but honestly, the quality of the food made up for it. Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for a great steak.

Love the exposed brick interior, steak was amazing and service on point! Went for our holiday dinner with friends, beautiful decorations and staff was very attentive. Drinks were delicious and wine recommendations were perfect, we even got cotton candy that was a hit all around.. 😊. Will definitely go back!

so I Had being wating to try this place for a while and we made our way to the bay on a Sunday night first of all the place alwas close to empty at 6 pm should be dinner rush oir reservation was at 6 for total of four of us mu wife and two teens we all had a type of steak some appetizers and a salad bow to me the mist memorable bites came for the simple wedge salad and their little 12 dollar bread and butter (in most places would be complementary) but it was really good I had the 130+ porterhouse 45 day dry age or that's what I was told my wife had the file my kid had a bone in ribeye and my other kid had a diferemt 10+ Oz steak.... first of all presentation seemed a bit cheap nothing fancy or pretty on the plate my med rare steak was cold and look sad no zizzle or any marking of greatness the bone in steak for my younger kid was tough and very bland the other two were more tender and had some flavor mashed potatoes seem ok fries and mac and cheese alittle bit better we had hope for dessert but nothing seemed spectacular so NEXT time I want to spend 700 in a family meal I'd be visiting the steak house in walnut creek Ruths Kris I think it's the name they steaks are amazing and the way the present the meals are far superior than this place server was nice place looked ok bathroom not the cleanest but was ok I guess I was hoping to be impressed base on the reference I had. but in reality texas road house had better flavor and at least you can make a mess on the ground with peanuts and feel relaxed OVER ALL FOOD JUST BARELY OK FOR THE HYPE SERVICE NICE FRIENDLY GUY ALLL OF OUR STEAKS SEEMED A BIT UNDERCOOK AND DEFINITELY UNDER SEASONED.....

We had a great experience with Albert as our server Friday evening. All the flavors were wonderfully paired, the menu had just the right amount of options without feeling overwhelming. This is definitely a place to go treat yourself, it can be considered pricey if you're not used to fine dining like this. My husband and I enjoyed an Porterhouse Steak together, a side of truffle mashed potatoes (so good! A must have!) as well as a side of the asparagus. We had escargot as our appetizer, and the S'mores dessert! Thank you Albert for such a great experience we will be back. 04/14/2023 Friday 7pm
