This was our first time coming here and I would 100% recommend it to anyone coming to San Francisco. Not only did they make it special for my best friends birthday, but all the staff were just amazing. Adam was our server tonight and he was a very down to earth gentleman with a very nice beard as well! Also all of our food was delicious, especially the filet minon, I will definitely make it a point to come here again in the future!

Arrived at 5:30 on a Saturday with no reservations. We put our name on the wait list, expecting a 45 minute wait, and then headed to the bar to order drinks. In 10 minutes, the host walked up to me and let me know our table was ready. This was an incredible service. Once seated we proceeded to order drinks and steaks, which were absolutely perfectly cooked. There was a live jazz band playing throughout the evening adding to the ambiance. I'll definitely be returning!

The meal was expertly prepared. The steak was exactly as ordered. The meat was dry aged and tender. The scalloped potatoes were perfect as were rge vegetables. My cheesecake rivaled Juniors in Brooklyn. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I'm giving this restaurant a five star review but it is probably more like a 4 star and let me explain why. Firstly, the staff was very attentive, however, I did mention we were celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary but it didn't seem like anyone noticed or cared until the end of our dinner. That's fine. I don't expect others to celebrate and be happy for something they themselves aren't experiencing but I think the issue was that I did inform them earlier while booking the table. Second, we traveled from Chicago to go to this steakhouse and it felt more like we were locals just celebrating, "again", like everyone else. I get that a lot of people come here to celebrate special events, and maybe that can be desensitizing to the workers but when you're spending about $400 between two people, I just feel like the level of attention needs to match that regardless of whether it's a celebratory event that brings you there like others before you or some other unnamed purpose. I do imagine that it can be mentally taxing on its staff but it did feel fairly impersonal and truth be told, I felt more like a bother for imposing on them as a patron of their establishment (think Midwestern nice). Third, the atmosphere is odd. It's like Chicago jazz and the Green Mill or Red Head Piano bar (so fairly chill) meets Stepford wives and arrogance. It's different. I wouldn't have felt comfortable but thanks to their amazing cocktail list and significant wine list, I stopped caring. Fourth, the food was good. The steaks were made exactly how you asked and the hors d'oeuvres were fantastic. The raw oysters were very fresh and everything really hit the mark. My honest compliments to the cooks! I additionally think it would be so much fun to be able to book a table in the kitchen and see the masters at work but, alas, that isn't something they do. Lastly, I would say the overall experience was great but I would certainly hesitate to come back again. As an adventure, it was fun, once, but when we come back again to San Francisco, I'd like to try something different and a bit more welcoming in their atmosphere. I wish this institution nothing but the best and ultimately do recommend it but I do think they could improve in some areas.

Dining at Harris’ Steakhouse was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we stepped inside, the warm and inviting ambience set the tone for the evening. The starters were a delightful introduction—perfectly crafted cocktails that were both refreshing and expertly balanced. But the highlight of the night was undoubtedly the steak. Cooked to perfection, each bite melted in my mouth, bursting with rich, savory flavors that only a truly top-tier steakhouse can deliver. Complementing the meal was an exceptional wine selection that elevated the entire experience. The pairing recommendations were spot-on, enhancing the flavors of the steak beautifully. The service was impeccable, attentive yet unobtrusive, ensuring that we felt cared for throughout the evening. Harris’ truly embodies the classic steakhouse vibe with a touch of modern sophistication. I highly recommend this gem to anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable dining experience in San Francisco!

This place is a must stop if you are looking for a nice dinner out or celebrating a special occasion. Food was excellent and service was great. Josh was on top of everything and this place passed the water test. I had the porterhouse and my wife had the prime rib. My wife loved the prime rib. We sat in the bar area where they had someone playing jazz.

We came here to celebrate a birthday. We started with the salad and onion soup, topped with crispy fried onions. For the entrée, I had the Harris steak, cooked medium rare, bone-in, dry-aged USDA Prime New York strip, that's served with scalloped potatoes and steamed vegetables. Everything was delicious and paired perfectly with the Malbec! My partner ordered the bone-in prime rib, which was incredibly tender and juicy—highly recommended! They also surprised us with a birthday treat, which we really appreciated. I made the reservation a month in advance via the OpenTable app. The check-in process was smooth, and we were seated immediately.
