Came to LA for my wife's birthday and had reservations at another restaurant but decided I wanted to patronize my ppl so we googled a ton of black owned and this one stood out so we went. They were sooo busy and turning ppl away so my wife showed her I'd and explained her birthday was on that day feb 28th and literally the chef came out and let us in! We had to sit at the bar but we didn't care. The ambiance, service (Anita was soooo beautifully nice, friendly and made exceptional recommendations) and food was 10 stars. We loved it sooo much we wanted to speak to the chef/owners regarding opening one in Phx (business venture possibly) but they were all hands on! My wife had the Jallof rice & braised ribs wife the old young fashion. I had the chilean bass and added the spicy cauliflower it was super 🔥 but good! My drink was the mango margaritas and it was slapping! To celebrate my wife's birthday we also ordered the sweet potato churro! Baby this desert was absolutely 👏 🤩. We don't live in LA so we need to speak with them about getting one in PHX otherwise we'll have to make another trip soon to see them but will make reservations wayyyyy in advance. My suggestion to you as well. They are super duper busy!

This was our second time here and they made a few changes to the interior design and layout and it is so beautiful, intimate and cozy. I loved it! They made a few changes to the menu too and the food is still so damn delicious. We ordered the honey chicken bites for starters, the garlic noodles w fried catfish, and jollof rice with salmon. Drinks: mango margarita and mezcalifornia 😋😋😋

I was Mando’s 4th and 5th grade teacher. Nothing makes a teacher more proud than to see students succeed! The food is DELICIOUS, superb service, and the whole vibe here is JOYFUL! I loved the garlic noodles with shrimp, the broccolini, the salad, and I even enjoyed the bread pudding with ice cream. I’m not a dessert fan but this was divine! I can’t wait to go back for Sunday brunch. I’m sure the shrimp and grits will be amazing.

This restaurant deserves way more than 5 stars! The food was absolutely incredible, exceeding all my expectations. As someone who normally dislikes beans, I was shocked to find myself loving them here. They were prepared in a way I'd never experienced before, with a depth of flavor and perfect texture. The short ribs and lamb chops were so tender they practically melted in our mouths. The chef's expertise was evident in every bite. Each dish was bursting with authentic flavor, not just the usual sugar, grease, and fat found in many restaurants. The care and attention to detail were obvious, and it's clear that they prioritize quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods. We stumbled upon this hidden gem during a long 6-hour drive and were completely blown away. I can't stop thinking about the amazing meal we had. I only wish I lived closer so I could visit this restaurant more often!

We ordered the Jollof Platter with the branzino, Mahi mahi tostadas, and sea bass. We were excited to this highly rated spot. Unfortunately, the food missed the spot. The jollof rice was quite dry and clumpy with a slight burnt taste, which be a result of this being dinner service. The branzino was smaller than expected. The sauces were a nice touch, although I wish the fish was more juicy. The sea bass was in a white bean stew, but the sea bass was a bit dry.

Stopped by here for brunch, we were greeted politely and seated quickly. I knew from the menu the food was going to be good... but wow! It exceeded expectations! Flavors were on point and the chef put real effort into plating and presentation. I had the chicken and waffles and I can honestly say it's the best that I've had in LA. My mom loved her Catfish and Garlic noodles, and the grits were on point. Lastly, the vibe here is really relaxing and welcoming. Can't wait to come back! 😋

This was my last meal before catching a flight, so I was in a bit of a rush. Luckily the food arrived quickly. Our waitress, Kayla, was incredible, paying adequate attention to our party and making us feel welcome the second we walked in. Now for the quality of the food, to say it was amazing would be an understatement. The jollof was divine. The plantains, cooked perfectly and scrumptious. All that’s to say, I will be recommending this restaurant to friends and definitely coming back again!

This place! This place! This place! Nita our wait staff was top tier! Her smile so pretty and warm. The ambience was incredible. At one point the whole restaurant joined in singing happy birthday to someone celebrating their birthday. The food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. My garlic salmon, house salad and mocktail were EVERYTHING. This place did not disappoint. I tripped 35 on a $100 bill. Worth every P E N N Y! Cant wait to return.
