About Monica's Riverview - steak house in Antioch, California
Customer Review Summary
Monica's Riverview offers a beautiful location with great views of the Delta. The brunch received praise for delicious food, generous portions, and standout dishes like pancakes and Huevos Rancheros. However, several reviews noted issues with service, including long waits and inattentive staff. Some dishes, like the steak sandwich and Chile Relleno, were criticized for being overcooked or unappetizing, while others found the food overpriced and mediocre. The atmosphere is pleasant with live music, but many reviewers felt the quality and service did not meet expectations. Overall, while some diners enjoyed their experience, others were disappointed and hesitant to return.

Went for Saturday Brunch. Restaurant was packed. Parking was limited. Wait wasn’t too bad 15 - 20 minutes. Food was pretty awesome. Tasty. Portions were very generous. My wife the French toast with eggs and sausage. I had the Huevos Rancheros, I also chose to add steak to my meal. It was Outstanding! Great choice all the way around. Monica’s Riverview is a GEM in Antioch. Worthy of a visit. We’ll definitely be back.

The steak sandwich was dry. The steak was overly cooked, rendering it hard to chew and enjoy. The waitress was kind but never came back to take our order. A gentleman walking by took our order. I was never offered a refill or checked on to see if my meal was good. The pancakes were delicious, though. The atmosphere was chill, and the location is absolutely beautiful, but the quality of goods served... Maybe if they didn't overcook the try tip and put the aoli sauce on the bread, it would have been a great experience. Oh yeah, have the servers actually check on the clients.

Wanted to love the food, however I found a hair inside my Chile Relleno. That grossed me out. Chicken fried steak was over-fried with too much batter. Service was friendly enough. Beautiful view but overpriced.

This was probably one of the best breakfast I had and I eat out ALOT all over SoCal. The pancakes were amazing. The sausage was even cooked perfectly. Great spot when visiting Antioch.

Great place for lunch or early dinner. Watch the water while you wait. The service could have been a lil better. But like the live music

The food is mediocre and overpriced. Swear they put about 8 fries on my plate with my undercooked $25 hamburger. The drink I ordered for my sister was a lemon drop, which was truly the size of maybe a shot. It was mostly sweet/sour mix or lemon juice and a half sugared rim, not a good lemon drop at all ($16.99). I am ok with spending my money for a good meal. This was subpar, mediocre at best. After sitting at the table (in the bar) for about 10 minutes, I flagged someone down to clean the table. Waited another 5 minutes and flagged someone down to take my order. The server who helped me was pleasant and attentive enough. The restaurant has a waterfront view, but it's not the prettiest, and to the right is a dock that appeared to host the neighborhood addicts and transients. It was very very busy and poppin', BUT I will not go back. I was extremely disappointed. Sorry I didn't think to take a picture at the time.

5 stars because of the Bakery and the Delta view provided at this venue. Frankly most of Antioch is a place where one must often look over their shoulder — at least at Monica’s one can be at ease. The food is delicious, the staff while often a bit stretched is friendly & courteous, it has a diverse arrangement of places to dine and drink. The fire pits can be enjoyable on a chilly night or day especially with a drink in hand! While you may full indulgent don't let that hinder the good time to be had. They have live music which draws a crowd but that is great if your trying to enjoy an evening or socializing. Sundays are very busy after 10 a.m. onward. The bakery while not open Monday’s offers throughout the rest of the week a fine array of decadent treats that would make your trainer blush. It handily puts the competition in its place. A fine place indeed, that provides an escape which in my estimation is worth every penny!

Nice atmosphere. The service was good but slow. The food was really average. The views of the Delta were very nice. We won't be going back. We're foodies and expected better food for the price!
