Customer Review Summary
Ruth's Chris Steak House in the Arlington area receives mixed reviews. Many guests commend the exceptional service, particularly highlighting staff members like Sam and Issa for their attentiveness and personable approach. The food, especially the ribeye, sweet potato casserole, and lobster mac & cheese, is frequently praised for its quality and flavorful execution. However, some diners expressed disappointment with the execution during group events, citing issues with flat champagne, poorly prepared appetizers, and overcooked steaks. The ambiance and city views were often noted as standout features, enhancing the dining experience. While many recommend it for special occasions, concerns about logistics, wait times, and high prices were raised, suggesting it may not suit all budgets. Overall, it’s a place worth visiting for a celebratory meal, assuming the potential for inconsistent service and food quality.

Definitely my favorite Ruth Chris location in the DMV area. The views of the planes flying into DCA are an extra atmosphere touch. But Sam our server was amazing. The quality of service that Sam provides is top-tier. His warm personality and Customer Service went beyond expectation. We typically ate family style and Sam was very accepting. We loved the ribeye, sweet potato casserole, and lobster mac & cheese

This place is too expensive for me to ever have even thought about coming with my own wallet, but lucky for me, my bosses hosted a dinner party here tonight. And I'm just blown away. You can say it's the broke working poor class in me, but this place was amazing. The food, the drinks, the service, everything. It's just simply amazing. Since this was a large(ish) group event hosted by my job we didn't have full access to the menu unless we wanted to pay out of pocket so i went with the menu provided that only gave the options for entre. The appetizer was the goat cheese and artichoke dip, which i would have never ordered because it sounded icky to me, but as part of the menu, they put it on the table, and i tried it. It was REALLY good, and I'm a picky eater. The steak house salad was also pretty good, and i usually only eat Ceasars salad with ranch. For the entre i choose a well done (come at me i don't care lol) new York strip. It was perfectly seasoned needing no steak sauce. The sides were the creamed spinach, which i didn't try but was told was really good, and the sweet potato casserole, which was better than pie. It was such a perfect meal, and I'm so glad to have gone. By the time i got to the last 2 bites of my steak, i was full. Nearly bursting to get those two bites in so i, as many others in the group, took my dessert to go, which was the classic cheesecake. I haven't tried it yet. I left 2 hours ago and still couldn't eat a bite of anything. I truly enjoyed my dinner here, and if i could only afford it, i would definitely return. Highly recommend this place. If there's ever a restaurant worth spending $100 or more per person, this is it. Special call out to the waiter, Sam. He was amazing and very intuitive, listening and taking care to make sure everything was perfect. He also seems like the type to match ur vibe while still giving phenomenal service.

Oh Ruth, oh Ruth, oh Ruth. Your steakhouse empire is truly magnificent and any person would be jealous to build what you created out of your sweat and hard work. But I think this Arlington location may need some of your hard working touch again. The people hired to provide the service have wonderful personalities and were a delight to chat with; but personalities do not equate nor substitute for high-end steakhouse service. About the only thing that was thoroughly enjoyed was the view of Reagan airport. What went wrong? >> To start for our group event, the champagne poured or sitting on tray was flat (yup, zero carbonation). >> Not sure what the bar options are (for group events away from the main bar) but the base spirit were very low shelf which made for dissappointing cocktails. >> We are not sure if hors d’oeuvres were part of our planned/procured group dinner but we were pretty much drinking on empty stomachs. >> The tuna sashimi appetizer tasted like it was just defrosted and not actually prepped well as there was just bland fish juice that gushed out in the mouth. >> The appetizer salad tasted flat, over-bruised, and weirdly warm - so it seems like a brilliant setup for the best prime dry-aged steak ever, right? >> Well, the signature steak service comes with on a Ruth-signature-blazing-hot plate which I guess should have taught every customer to order their steak one grade rarer than preferred ...... OR would it be part of the process to serve a prime dry-aged steak one grade rarer than what customers requested *knowing* that the steak will keep cooking on the Ruth-signature-blazing-hot plate. Well, the 1-inch dry-aged ribeye was ordered medium but ended up medium-well to well-done after 3-5 minutes on the plate. I ended up taking half the ribeye home to salvage for a stirfry. >> The asparagus sides were fairly woody. And the lobster mac and cheese seem to be star of the dinner but it's just pieces of lobster on top of regular mac and cheese which had negligible seafood lobster flavor. >> Cheesecase dessert tasted out-sourced and was underwhelming as I waited to request for coffee or expresso to pair with dessert. But THE absolute most annoying thing was that I didn't get to order the coffee until after service staff started collecting/cleaning the dessert plates from all the other tables in our group. Another words, I was waiting to order coffee for 10-20 minutes before I took a bite of dessert. Needless to say, I took the cheesecake home to enjoy with my own home-made coffee. I want to find something to love about prime dry-aged steaks, I want to find something to celebrate Ruth's successes, and I want to find something that is prime & dry-aged special to enjoy; but the only thing I could find was a view. For now, I think I'll stick with cooking my own steaks from Costco before I find muster the courage (and matching disposable income) to sample Ruth Chris at Arlington again.

One of our favorite restaurants in the DC area, adjacent to DCA, complimentary parking and a great view of the city. We were celebrating an anniversary and the staff made it a very special event. The hostess was very personable, inquiring how many years, our secret to a successful relationship, etc. We had a lovely corner table near the window with a view of the Capitol in the distance and could still see the planes landing and taking off. Kevin, our server, provided exemplary service, was very attentive and knowledgeable about all menu items. He recommended the shrimp appetizer which had just the right amount of spice. The caesar salad was a tasty prelude to the petite filet (perfectly cooked to order and filling for an average appetite) and shared the au gratin potatoes (more than enough for two). The homemade cheesecake was delicious and beautifully presented. Brian, an evening manager stopped by the table to check on our experience. Would definitely recommend this location for a night out or any special celebration and ask for Kevin!

I celebrated my 45th birthday last night at Ruth’s Chris, and it was my first time dining there—it was incredible from start to finish! The convenience of valet parking made our arrival smooth and stress-free, setting the tone for a wonderful evening. Our server, Issa, was exceptional. His attentive service made me feel like a true birthday VIP, and he went out of his way to ensure the whole group had a fantastic time. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, and even when I brought home leftovers, it tasted just as amazing the next day. The portions are generous, and you definitely get your money’s worth here; it felt like a real treat. They even decorated our table with birthday confetti and presented me with a birthday card, adding a thoughtful touch to the night. Issa was kind enough to take group photos, helping capture those special moments. I’d highly recommend Ruth’s Chris for any birthday celebration—it’s a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely be back to this location!
