My hubby took me to celebrate my birthday. They greeted me with birthday wishes and a cute card. The seasonal menu had a variety of options for food and beverages. The atmosphere was warm and sophisticated. The service was top-notch. Our server was friendly and helped us with great recommendations. I can't wait to return. I highly recommend you visit.

I dined with a large group, and we had a room to ourselves with a fixed menu. The food was delicious! My favorites were the pimento grilled cheese apps, the crispy Brussels sprouts (my absolute favorite), and the Oak sundae. The service was excellent and we had a wonderful overall experience.

Catch up post. . . . Valentines Day, 2021, this was the first year I decided to go out on February 14th. Just because I'm single doesn't mean I can't enjoy a good meal with myself, right? I didn't dress up, I had on some jeans and a sweater, my Uggs. I felt comfortable as I walked into The Oak Steakhouse, located in Virginia. It is a pretty spacious restaurant that sits on the corner of North Saint Asaph Street in Alexandria. There is a lot of natural light at the front of the restaurant, but towards the back, a little dimmer as I sat near the kitchen. I was greeted by my server, Catherine, and she was so friendly. I started with a glass of wine, Moscato, and for my appetizer, the oysters rockefeller and bone marrow. Whenever I frequent a restaurant and I see bone marrow on the menu, I always try and order as i do a comparison to other bone marrow dishes I have tried in the past. This one was good. The bread server with it was seasoned and toasted to perfection. Oh, I didn't forget, the oysters rockefeller were the best I had ever had. They were $5 a pop, and I ordered two. I wish I had ordered more, but I'm not a huge fan of oysters. For my main course, a steak. Honestly, you will never see me eat chicken or any type of fish at a steak house. The purpose of going to a steakhouse is to eat steak and steak. I ate the hanger! When I tell you that steak was so good and seasoned so well, I didn't even need the chimichurra sauce. However, the sauce was good as well. I know I've mentioned I never ordered dessert, but this time, I did. I had some type of chocolate dish, which wasn't bad, but I didn't enjoy it. I have been wanting g to go back since that first experience, but I have not, oh but I will! Bon appetit 🤌🏽!

It was an unexpected surprise. Last minute booking. MY wife and I decided to celebrate our 5th year anniversary here. From the beginning we felt we made the perfect choice. The staff were very welcoming, we waiting for our seats at the bar and the bartender was so nice and cheerful. Once we got seated we met Robert our waiter. We were surprised with a beautiful handwritten letter celebrating us. I’ve had great service before but Robert is top Notch. Robert surprised us with champagne and a nice dessert at the end. Robert definitely made us feel like the night was just about my wife and I. Robert if you read this I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart you made our last minute plan to celebrate our anniversary beyond perfect.

Went here with my family, including my son and his wife. So many things we wanted try. We started off with the shellfish platter which included oysters, shrimp cocktail, crab meat, and octopus. Well prepared, great presentation, and 100% Delicious. The 4 of us then had had our A5 wagyu steak brought to us, and we were so excited to try it, no one took time to get a photo of it. Amazing taste and perfect for a special treat. My son had NY Strip, and I had the 10 oz filet, while the other two had Grouper Which was the Oak Steakhouse's fish of the day. Took 2 minutes to find free parking close by, and if you ever have the opportunity to eat here, you need to jump at that chance.

The service and food here are outstanding. Expect to spend around $100 per person, but it's definitely worth it. We tried the pork chop, scallops, and steak, and all were cooked to perfection.

Popped in for a quick cocktail and dessert and really enjoyed the fine dining ambiance as well as bar service from Keith. We have a lovely time and cannot wait to be back for dinner!

So I went here with my father last Friday. We were debating between Ruth’s Chris and Oak steakhouse and decided to go with Oak. We were seated right near the kitchen in the back served by Rich. The service throughout the night was not bad but wasn’t anything memorable. My father and I had 4 courses throughout the night. First was the raw bar items. We got the crudo and octopus. The crudo was awful. It was almost like the fish was mangled because it was slimey and not presented well. This was the first time I have had crudo where the fish wasn’t sliced horizontally or vertically. Not to mention, it was extremely small. I’m talking 6 bites total. What a ripoff. I wouldn’t recommend. The octopus was just fine. I would consider ordering it again but am not rushing to do so. Then we got two “salads”. The apple salad and the Italian burrata. My father didn’t care much for the apple salad. For the burrata, it has this orange paste that came with it. It was not good. I understand the menu listed this, but it wasn’t good. Neither myself nor my father was really impressed with any of the food so far. For the meat, I got filet and I believe my father got one too. Both cooked medium. This was by far the best items we had all night. It was a pretty decent steak cooked pretty good. I ordered medium and unfortunately the steak was pretty red in the middle but I understand that it’s not always easy to cook the steaks perfectly. My father’s steak was perfect. Finally the dessert we chose was the moon pie. It was good. It was sweet and fairly large so easily could have been split by multiple people. One other thing. The seat we were in was right in front of the kitchen. In other steakhouses I’ve been to (namely Flemings) where the kitchen is relatively open, there is typically a glass panel. Here there was no such thing. Throughout the meal, I’d be staring at the expos with their hand raised signaling for a food runner. It was kinda an eye sore. Especially when it’s all I could look at. Perhaps they could figure out a better way to get the attention of food runners without being very noticeable. In all, neither my father nor myself would return and definitely wouldn’t recommend. The service and food was mediocre (except the steaks) and certainly not worth the price given the competition. If you are considering Oak steakhouse, you should go to a different steakhouse chain. I’d go with the large chain such as Flemings, Morton’s, or Ruth’s Chris as their food is substantially better for nearly the same price.
