About Chadwicks - steak house in Alexandria, Virginia
Neighborhood bar with English pub decor, happy hour, burgers & American fare, plus patio seating.
Customer Review Summary
Overall, Chadwicks offers a mixed dining experience. Happy hour specials, especially the burger and fries, receive high praise for their quality and flavor. However, brunch visits have been disappointing with reports of oily and bland food, small portions, and a lack of crab meat in dishes like crab dip. Service quality appears inconsistent, with some days being marked by slow and inattentive staff while others provide good service. The decor is appealing, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere, particularly during brunch. Prices are viewed as reasonable for the area, but the quality doesn't always justify the cost. Some customers found the parking attendants unhelpful. Despite some reviews being negative, there are positive mentions of certain dishes like jambalaya and crab cakes, suggesting there are still hits amid the misses.

Haven't been to Chadwick's in ages but glad to see this water side restaurant still holds up. We were there for their happy hour special, and the burger and fries hit the right spot! Probably some of the best fries I've had in a restaurant in a very long time. The burger was thick, juicy and was cooked to perfection. We had plenty of seating at the upstairs bar and didn't have to wait too long to be served. Definitely coming back to try more of their happy hour bites, plus they're all you can eat crab legs on Wednesday nights.

Came here for Sunday brunch on 14 April. The food was just ok, nothing to brag about. I had the egg white omelet with peppers onion and cheese. It was heavily saturated with oil and very bland, which required me to add salt and pepper. The home fries were ok, but it seemed like they were very skimpy and trying to save the potatoes. It was not worth the 14 dollars. The crab dip had good flavor but lacked crab meat, just like the home fries, they were very skimpy on crab meat. This dish was not worth the price. The service was just ok, nothing special. I did enjoy the decor, the interior was inviting and really made us think we were going to enjoy the brunch. Sorry, they failed. The parking across the street is employed with an employee who is useless and processes information slower than the average human. Sorry Chad, I don't think I will be back to review any other dishes offered by the establishment.

My husband and I had breakfast/brunch here on a Sunday morning while visiting from out of town. We arrived not long after they first opened, so we were seated immediately. The food and drinks were tasty, service was good, and decor/style was very cool! Cocktails were a bit pricey, but I think they were relatively on par for the area the restaurant is in.

Really cute place and the crab cakes I ordered were very tasty, so the sauce and coleslaw! The young waiter was very friendly and service minded.

BARELY a 3 star. Sunday service is slow and bar staff are inattentive, portions are woefully small. I ordered tenders and fries… $12 for 1/3-1/4 sized serving (most other places) cut into thin overly breaded strips. $4 for 1/2 serving of fries. Served room temp. Brought this up to bartender and was told, ‘well have a nice day’.., literally. Everyone has different expectations, but I believe this would universally be a thumbs down. Day staff service and quality (of everything) here has suffered in the last few years. Evening/late night staff is on point. Suggest going elsewhere unless you’re here at 1AM.

The jambalaya is delicious, I went back three times for it. The steamed shrimp wasn't too flavorful. It is reasonably priced considering how expensive Alexandria is. The service was good and their kitchen is open late.

Cody, nautical atmosphere. We went for brunch and all had delish meals. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Drinks and staff were so kind and pleasant. Lots of great shops right next door along with a view of the water and park. It was a fantastic experience all around.

Came for brunch with a friend and had a good time. Sat at the bar. Food and drinks were great and came out fast. Service was good from start to finish. I'd definitely recommend this hidden gem to others!
