Customer Review Summary
Tu Asador Mexican Steakhouse in Castle Hills is praised for its fantastic atmosphere, excellent service, and flavorful food. Reviews highlight the beautifully done interior and attentive staff, with standout dishes like tabla de carna asada and various steaks, though some diners noted issues with serving temperatures and limited vegetable options. Drinks, especially craft cocktails, receive positive mentions, and the restaurant is noted for its live music and significant seating space. However, some reviews criticize the pricing, feeling that the portions do not justify the high cost, and there were experiences of subpar service during busy times. Overall, while the restaurant has its share of supporters who recommend it for special occasions and suggest reservations, there are dissenting opinions advocating alternatives like Texas Roadhouse for better value and service.

Tu Asador is truly a gem here in San Antonio! The atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful beautifully Done in the interior, this service is excellent and of course the food is phenomenal. I had the tabla de carna asada, which is a big portion plate for single person it comes with a side, your choice of meat and the side. I did the sterline and it was cooked to perfection. Whoever was making the drinks on that night was on point, i had the matacanes and margarita 🍹 put your really excellent on flavor and they don't skimp On liquor. The food was so good, very flavorful, They really do excellent stakes here. Angela the server was who wonderful and thirty attentive you cant ask for a better service. They really do run a fantastic restaurant and I wholeheartedly recommend that you check it out i don't think you'll be disappointing at all.

Pleasant atmosphere. We were promptly seated without having a reservation. Good service in spite of being so busy. We had a long wait for our steaks- Picanha & Arrachera were nicely seasoned, however served at room temp- I like my steak to be hot... I will say it stayed at room temp and I think it's due to the wooden platter it's served on. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have healthier green vegetables choices. The salad was lame just leafy greens, croutons and cheese. We walked out of their paying over 200 bucks - a little overpriced. We enjoyed their great selection of Kraft Cocktails & wine. I strongly suggest making a reservation & trying out their happy hour so that you may get a taste of some of the food items & tasty drinks at a lower cost - HH & Brunch are reasonable prices. Great for late night drinks!

The food wasn’t bad but I found that the overall experience being $100 for two people was a little insane for what we got. Two lemonades and each “steak” was about $30-$40. We eat at nicer restaurants often so it’s not that we were expecting dirt cheap prices. But you tell me if this looks like a $40 plate of meat? Originally we were planning on going to Texas Roadhouse and we regret going with this place knowing we would have gotten twice the steak size for half the price. On top of that we came in around 2pm-3pm and were the only guests at one point but the service was lacking. I could literally see the chefs standing around in the kitchen doing nothing when we were the only ones who had ordered in the restaurant. The servers were slightly better but just hard to flag down we only saw her when we ordered checked on us once and then when we asked for our check. All in all super disappointed in this experience, would recommend you go to Texas Roadhouse for a much better experience, food and service included.

Loved the live music on the weekend! There is plenty of seating space. The meat was top notch, very moist, flavorful, and cooked to perfection! Everyone enjoyed their dishes. They offered complimentary potato chips with salsa. We have found a gem! Highly recommend!

What a great place for an intro meal to San Antonio. All the meats were seasoned to perfection and the service was fantastic. Shout-out to our server - Emiliano, who was fantastic, and explained the whole experience to us. Will definitely come back again if we are in town.

Food is good, nothing crazy. Looked delicious online. The concept is great but the price gouging is ridiculous. They don’t offer free refills on a lemonade, portions are small in comparison to what you’re paying. Not looking for anything free but it Felt as if I used the restroom I would have to pay as well. Try their spicy homemade hot sauce if you prefer adding spice to your food. Other than that everything else was ok. They charge an automatic gratuity for parties of 6 or more. As time keeps passing I feel groups of four or more will be charged a gratuity here soon enough. It’s worth the experience to make up your own mind regarding quality, quantity, taste and pay.
