Customer Review Summary

Maverick Texas Brasserie offers a vibrant atmosphere and friendly service, but experiences vary significantly. Some patrons enjoyed great flavors and quality food, with highlights on dishes like pan-seared duck and truffle gnocchi. The ambiance is praised for being beautiful and inviting. Service can be slow, and some diners experienced undercooked or improperly prepared dishes, alongside unsatisfactory responses from management regarding complaints. While many had positive experiences, others felt disappointed with the quality versus the price, citing bland or overcooked meals. The dessert received commendations, particularly during special occasions. Overall, the restaurant shows potential, but consistency in food quality and service remains a concern.

When I first walked in, I LOVED the vibes of this place. Our waitress was friendly, the atmosphere was cute, and their menu had many options. However, when I received my entree (creme stuffed chicken), the chicken was undercooked. Our waitress immediately assisted us and notified the manager and cook. She was very efficient. The manager never came and talked to us, nor offered an apology or compensation. We were offered a "coke or tea" for the inconvenience. The best part of the meal was the dessert. It was delicious, with a candle for my birthday.

Food was great - great flavors and quality cuts. Ambiance was beautiful and acoustics were wonderful as you didn’t hear everyone talking all at once. Service was good - Mia was wonderful and kind. Had great educated recommendations - she knows food. Service though was very slow from appetizer to drinks to entree. We were there for 2 hours… at one point we started to wonder if they forgot our entree order as we picked at our bread basket for a long time. It was a quiet weekday, so unsure if it was just a slow chef or short staff in kitchen but based on that - only go if you have nowhere to be after :) Willing to give another shot in the future.

To start with, we booked a reservation with the Maverick on 10/25 for a belated anniversary dinner. We made this notation on the reservation, and they went above and beyond to make the evening special for me and my love. That in and of itself would make us loyal customers. It's rare to see people who obviously enjoy what they do and strive to make others' lives better when they enter their sphere of excellence. Our server, Jadyn, was fantastic; she was warm and funny while still maintaining excellent professionalism and knowledge of the menu. The food was fantastic; we ordered a bread basket with whipped butter and escargot de Provence for appetizers, and both were fabulous, the bread warm, toasty, and very flavorful The escargot was herbaceous and excellently seasoned in its garlic/parsley butter, topped with a perfectly crisp truffled puff pastry right on top. It made for a wonderful bite with a great mouthfeel. My main course was the pan-seared duck breast, which was paired with a port wine gastrique, roasted grapes, and served with some crispy onions and a small astringent salad. The flavors were all on point, and they contrasted and complemented each other very well. The duck was excellently seasoned and perfectly cooked to a nice medium rare while still having very crispy skin. The sauce pairing was tart and sweet and layered the natural game of the duck very well. The onions were a great addition to the mix for an extra crisp texture and a subtle addition to the flavor. The astringent salad was arugula, a lite dressing, and some savory cheese. I think it was gorgonzola. But it was fantastic as a finisher to cleanse the palate. We finished with the truffled gnocchi, and God was it good, creamy with a perfect earthiness and funk from the truffle. Finally, the drinks were wonderful and obviously made with care and attention. My love had the Bonne Chance, which was a gingery and boozy wonder, while I had a wonderful Scotch Sour. They finished us out with a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. The staff, food, and location are perfect here.

What a great evening at the Maverick! We had the Wednesday special which was cordon Bleu with spinach and mashed potatoes and also included a delicious dessert! Our service was so classy yet so friendly. Conversation was easy and the atmosphere was comfortable. Loved the special touches, the glassware and the fabric napkins at each place setting. Everything was delicious. I commend the chef!

The wife and I came for a date night on a recommendation from a foodie friend. They had a great whiskey selection so we sat at the bar. We got the bread basket, steak au poivre, and half chicken which were all great but the star of the show for me was the oysters and gnocchi. I’d come back regardless but definitely for those. We also got dessert and were treated to a caramel ice cream. The service was great all around but our bartender was especially awesome.

Very 'eh' overall. Steaks had no 'wow' factor. Just steak. Mine was overdone, hers was under. Both were cold. Sent back the underdone steak and came back charred and burnt. Obviously burnt when it came back - waiter didn't acknowledge that at all. No flavor outside of the sauce that comes with it. Appetizer gruyere bread bites had no flavor at all and not hot. Side asparagus was fine. Side gnocchi was pretty good. Dessert cake was a little dry, but tasted good. Generally disappointed for it being somewhat of a higher end restaurant. Definitely not worth the price of the check. The more I think of it, I wish we had gone somewhere else and had a better meal. On a side note, our waiter, Jacoby, was great, but didn't really care to ask much about how we liked the food... Maybe he knew it wasn't coming out great so he didn't really ask.

My favorite dinning experience in SA. Visited from Toronto. The pork chop was THE best pork chop iv ever had. Nice crisp char. Flavor was impeccable. So juicy. Also had the gnocchi. OMG out of this world delicious. So decadent and creamy. Hubby had the schnitzel it was a fantastic crunch. Very tasty lemon caper sauce. Food was 11/10 Ambiance was very romantic and inviting. Our server was on point as well. If you're in SA this restaurant is a must

Came here for brunch. The eggs tasted like oil, perhaps they used too much when cooking them. The Steak was not very tasty and had a lot of fat. Additionally the chimichurri sauce on top was a no go for me. The fries were alright, but also had that slight oily taste. Lastly, My friend found a fly in their mimosa leaving us unsatisfied with our experience.
