Customer Review Summary
Lone Star Cafe offers a generally exceptional dining experience with a diverse, flavorful menu. While many dishes are well-prepared, some items like fries could use more seasoning. Service is a highlight, with staff going above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome. The ambiance enhances the experience, providing a cozy atmosphere and great views of the Riverwalk. Some reviews mention slow service, particularly during busy times, along with cleanliness issues in the bathrooms. Experiences with pricing transparency were mixed, with some customers feeling upcharged without consent for certain items. On the positive side, vegan options are well-received, and many families enjoyed the food, including children’s favorites like mozzarella sticks and grilled cheese. Overall, Lone Star Cafe is praised for its food quality, atmosphere, and service, but there are notable concerns regarding service speed and pricing practices.

Lone Star Cafe delivers an exceptional dining experience. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, with dishes that are flavorful and well-prepared. While everything was enjoyable, there's just a little room for refinement to make the meals truly outstanding. Like the fries were a little bland and lacked salt. The waiters and waitresses at Lone Star Cafe go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed and cared for. From the prompt service to the friendly demeanor of the team, they make the experience seamless and enjoyable. This is where Lone Star Cafe truly shines. The ambiance is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a meal. Whether it’s the cozy decor, the inviting lighting, or the thoughtfully designed seating, every detail enhances the dining experience. There's even a great view of the Riverwalk which is amazing to see especially at night. If you're searching for a restaurant that pairs great service and a memorable atmosphere, Lone Star Cafe should be at the top of your list!

We sat up on the second deck above the river walk. I had the brisket sandwich and my partner had country fried steak. Both were good, believe it or not the country fried steak was better than the brisket. I really enjoyed the pinto beans they were seasoned just right. The service was very good. The coffee was perfect, and was just right.

Walking down the riverwalk with some business guests, looking for a place for dinner we came across this restaurant. The menu looked appealing and they had an upper deck with a good view of the river, so we gave it a go. It all started with a very slow service and stayed painfully slow through the dinner! The food is ok for the price and the river view is good but we had to wait a long time for everything including the check. Oh the bathrooms were filthy, rusty walls and litter all over the floor!

Wanted a 5 star review for this place, but it turns out it's less than one star for everything that has happened. 3 of us went to eat there. The and the server, when one ordered mashed potatoes deliberately up charged her for loaded mashed potatoes without even asking putting it on the receipt for a higher ticket price. Then when she ordered a Margarita, they gave her an extra charge of top shelf alcohol without asking her Made her bill extremely high for a single lady. This waiter was not very nice. Stayed at the bar Stayed on his phone wasn't around. Talking about the restaurant to help the restaurant out. And worst of all, the service was extremely poor considering he did not come back when my wife needed bread for what she ordered and she would have ordered bread. When the brisket was ordered, there was probably larger than a deck of cards, size piece of fat that was served as meat being that. We want to eat meat when we order brisket and not a slab of fat cut that was not good as well. Chicken fried steak was good and the burger was good but the burger that I ate. They slipped in some extra stuff on sides when I only wanted the burger and charge 4 sides. I.e. guacamole, etc. I found it very sad to go to one of the restaurants on a Riverwalk and get a service like this. Where they take advantage of pedestrians walking up-and-down, pulling them in to eat at their location, then come to find out they're trying to pull every penny out of you by up charging nickel and diamond you for things that you didn't want or Or ask for? I don't think I would ever go to this place again.Due to the service that it had in the past and in knowing that fat is served as brisket, wasn't good. And I really was looking forward to giving this place a good rating

It was amazing experince for me. Food was delicious. I had beyond burger. As vegan is hard for me to find lots of time some plce with vegan options. And lost of places on river walk not offer anything. Except rice with vegetable and one strict vegan taco place. I was happy find burger. And it was delicious looked amazing. Bar seating was comfortable and you can watch tv or watch river walk from top level. Definetelly great spit good atmosphere great servis definetelly visite this place again in future

We came here on thanksgiving and were glad to find something open. We both chose seafood, portion sizes not satisfying for the price, tasted good. Service time okay.

Food was good. My kids loved the mozzarella sticks. The brisket and pork tacos were good. Potato salad was not store bought which was a plus. My son loved the grilled cheese. The seasoned fries were really good as well. They handed us a 15% coupon at the hostess station which helped on our bill.

Great place, great food, great atmosphere with good views. The grilled pork chops were excellent. I usually take pictures of my entree but as first look, I could not wait to take my first bite. They looked good and tasted even better. I would like to add that the potato salad was surprisingly good.
