Benihana offers an immersive dining experience with talented chefs entertaining guests while cooking. Many reviews praise the food as delicious, especially items like shrimp, fried rice, and sushi. The atmosphere is described as vibrant and engaging, making it suitable for celebrations. Some guests enjoy the unlimited teas and ice cream desserts, particularly for birthdays. However, several reviewers express concerns about cleanliness, noting visible grease and dirt in the restaurant. Issues with food preparation, such as overcooked items and poor cooking techniques, are mentioned, leading to disappointment. Service experiences are mixed; while some servers are noted as friendly and attentive, others received complaints regarding slow service. A few reviews highlight pricing issues, labeling the restaurant as overpriced, especially given some unsatisfactory dishes. Overall, while many have positive experiences, cleanliness and food quality concerns tarnish the perception for some diners.

As part of my son's birthday present, we always go out to eat at some place of his choosing. He loves Benihana's. This is about the only time that we go there due to how expensive it is. The food is just wonderful. You also have a bit of a show with the chef. They serve your food right in front of you. They cook it, plate it and presented to you. They also offer unlimited teas and lemonades. I highly recommend the passion fruit.

What can I say about Benihana? Great place to eat flying food and watch talented chefs cook our food as ordered. I ordered steak and shrimp. We ate shrimp Crunchy Roll sushi, Chili Ponzu Yellow Tail sushi, along with Chicken Fried Rice. Needless to say, I had leftovers for the next day! Our menu of choice came with an ice cream dessert. Yummy!! I give this review🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤

Visited for my birthday on a weekday. Not much of a crowd which was great, wait wasn’t log at all. Parking lot at this location is extremely small so anticipate limited parking. They did offer valet parking, employee advised he worked for tips. Our chef was Alberto. He worked extremely quick but also thorough and gave us a quite a show. The food was delicious. Fried rice is always a MUST along with the Shrimp Crunch Roll. I had the spicy hibachi chicken and it was delicious! Free dessert (ice cream) is provided for your birthday 🥳

There is a layer of grease and dirt on every surface including carpets, walls, and the menus. Then the chef showed up. His jacket was filthy (see pic) like it hadn’t been laundered in a week. Then he used a rag that I can only assume had once been white to wipe down his spatula and knife (see pic) followed by a second rag that was black (once white) to wipe the griddle. Needless to say, it was completely unappetizing if not a health hazard. If I hadn’t watched our food being (over)cooked to a safe temperature in front of me, I couldn’t have eaten. The cook of the food was so bad, we laughed about it all the way home. The shrimp and scallops were the first items placed on the griddle and the last things taken off 25 minutes later. We ordered filet mignon medium rare. They were fully well done even after asking to take off the griddle as it was past done, we were told to wait another minute because it wasn’t ready yet. The chef was friendly, fun, and had a great sense of humor. He just wasn’t a good cook. The waitress was nice and attentive.

Chef Geno was great! His performance and engagement kept everyone's attention. He deserves a raise. The ambiance is lovely, and the food is delicious. Mardi Gras and Mobile Alabama would love for him to come here, too.

Wish I could give 0 stars. This was the worst experience ever. I’ve heard about Benihana but don’t get the hype, what am I missing?Overpriced bland food, terrible service, no parking (walk across the street or valley). I took my daughters for a birthday day dinner, both had a $40 birthday certificate but was told it could only be used Monday-Thursday, btw, thanks for bringing out the magnifying glass to show us the fine print. I don’t mind paying for good food, but $160 for half cooked noodles with store bought sauce is unacceptable. I would much rather eat Panda Express (no offense). The chef lite up the onion and must have turned off the grill, he mixed sauce and a few veggies then put it on a plate, some of my noodles were still white. I tried to force myself to eat the $36 yakisoba, but the sauce taste like sweet hoisin sauce and honey, hard to explain but terrible. I’ve had real authentic yakisoba before, and this was not eat, the frozen fake stuff at Costco was better. In addition, the over priced noodle dish was supposed to be a 5 course meal, I received soup(basically chicken broth with onions), salad(hand full of packaged stuff in grocery store), main dish, a few cut pieces of zucchini/onions on the side(I guess that counts)? But never received my hot green tee, after asking twice. I will never eat here again, I could take my daughters back, Mon-Thurs, and actually use the coupon, but at this point I’m not interested. My daughter brought her noodles home and actually recooked them on the stove while adding flavor, much better. Let me know if you guys need a new head chef. This place needs to lower their prices or redo the recipes, also, as others have stated, the Dallas location is old and dirty. I wish I would have taken more pics, I was just in shock from the level of disappointment. ***Forgot to add, I have a shrimp allergy and was unable to eat half of my food after the chef put shrimp on the plate, without asking. He was cooking shrimp for others at the table and I guess he thought he was doing me a favor, IDK, but the reason the shrimp was cooked last was because of the allergy so why wouldn’t you ask if I wanted it first??

We have been here before and have had good and bad experiences. We were celebrating a birthday tonight and I hoped our time would go great. We had reservations and were seated in 10-15 minutes. We made our drink and food orders. The staff was told that there was a dietary restriction and it was respected throughout the meal. Our chef had a good attitude. He did a good job cooking the food and keeping us entertained. The veggies took a long time to cook and the white rice was delivered a little late. Overall, it was a good experience. We will be back and I do recommend Benihanas to anyone.
