Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse

Went for the valentines special. Overall great experience. The bread rolls had great texture and were pretty sweet. The crab cake was also probably the best I’ve ever had, great flavor and texture. Steak was ordered medium rare, and came out a little more on the rare side but we didn’t mind at all as it tasted fantastic (not sinewy, well seasoned, not burnt). Mashed potatoes are more thick than runny, which compliments the steak in my opinion.

Very nice place. Sat at the bar on a Wednesday afternoon around 2pm, it was my birthday as well as the day before Thanksgiving so not much was going on at the bar. The waitress/bartenders were all great very attentive and polite. I had the salmon and Lima bean plate with the wild mushrooms! Delicious! Served nice and hot! The butter rolls are to dieeee for!!! I consider myself a regular at this point being that I come quite often and that I am a Landry's Select Club rewards member. With that being said, the food is usually amazing and the service is always great. Today was a different experience solely because my waiter John was SO very awesome. John explained to me that he used to work in the kitchen as a chef and was now a bartender. From the moment he greeted me up until the moment I left he was very attentive and extremely kind. I even went with his suggestion of the crab fried rice (which I had never seen on the menu) and I'm glad I did because it was very delicious! John went out of his way several times to check on my well being and even brought me extra food after I made a comment about the portion size being smaller than I expected. Not only was he a true gentleman to me, but I watched him treat everyone he encountered the exact same way. Amazing service. 5 Stars to say the least. I wanted to write this review because I am better with writing words than verbalizing them, but please know that I am extremely grateful for John and he needs a raise. I could definitely see him as a manager one day. (Maybe tomorrow?) *cough cough* Also* I met the manager and she was very kind and pleasantly as well. Dear John, you made me feel valued and comfortable today and I hope I thanked you enough because you are seriously great and I'm thankful I had the privilege of crossing paths with you. I appreciate your kindness and hospitality, not to mention your customer service skills are superb. If I wasn't doing dry January I would have ordered a drink or two, but even my sober experience was pleasant and made rich with joy thanks to you. I'm coming back to leave a better tip. I wanted to give more but I didn't have much cash on me because I was expecting to pay with my debit card. I appreciate the nice surprise in the end, but I regret not being able to leave more than I did. Regardless, I will make it up next time for sure. 💛

I ordered the happy hour wings they came out room temperature, and very salty, so salty that I sent them back. We both also had the dry adged burgers, they came out fast so I was a little apprehensive about the freshness, but they were warm and the fries were hot so who knows. Wow! I was in Plano with some close friends for business and wanted a place to unwind and have some good food. Oh MY Goodness. Not only is the food amazing, but the service from John was outstanding (if you’re there, please do yourselves a favor and ask for him). Do make a space in your schedule to come here and enjoy the amazing place.

Over the top service. My steak was excellent. The salad was amazing; a meal in itself. Delicious fresh -baked buttery rolls. Green beans were crispy and sweet. Garlic mashed potatoes were cooked to perfection! The restaurant is full of happy patrons. Free, friendly valet parking!

I read the dress codes, looked nice, walk in the door and two customers waiting to be seated (one in a hoodie and jeans, the second in a torn t shirt and dirty jeans (what’s the point if it is not enforced). The wait was minimal however once seated we were not acknowledged for roughly 15 minutes ( this was thanksgiving evening). Once a server came over all she did was complain about the large group seated behind us. I don’t need to or want to hear that. Every time through out the evening she came to us she was apologizing for one thing or another. Need to teach your busboys some couth. Constantly make terrible racket cleaning tables and rearranging tables and chairs, terribly unprofessional. The ambiance sucked so bad, who has ugly booths in a “high end steak joint”, place was dirty and the Paneling needs to go. The ambiance was terrible, see my pic. We were seated near the fire alarm and the thermostat, much better places that are not over rated with far better ambiance. The food was fair at best and not worth the prices and the store bought pumpkin pie was not good. Over all a big fat disappointment. This was my first time there and left disappointed from beginning to end. Speaking of beginning to end for two of us it took well over 2 hours. No good, many improvement could and should be made.

From start to finish, everything was superb. The $49 option also looked like a fantastic deal. Despite the restaurant being incredibly busy, the staff remained friendly and attentive throughout the evening. The soup was delicious, and the steak was cooked to perfection. Overall, it was a nice dining experience that I highly recommend.
