Customer Review Summary
The Mercury has received mixed reviews concerning its food and overall experience. Many patrons praised the exceptional service and elegant atmosphere, noting the attentive staff and cozy yet upscale environment. While some diners enjoyed their meals, highlighting dishes like the jumbo lump crab dip, filet mignon, and desserts, several felt that the food was underwhelming compared to similar restaurants in the area, describing it as safe or overhyped. Though the unique items like the crab dip and coconut cake garnered positive remarks, others mentioned the meat dishes were just average. Overall, The Mercury is recommended for special occasions and date nights, with the ambiance and service standing out more than the food itself for some guests.

I have to say, I was somewhat underwhelmed. The service here is fantastic and really shined, however the food just seemed somewhat.. safe? The food was good, but really nothing special considering the price point. Nothing unique or memorable really. We tried the tartare, duck, lobster, filet, etc.. and I have to say none of those dishes out-shined other restaurants in DFW at the same price point. Again - huge props to the service and the atmosphere, but the food is overhyped in my opinion.

Our dinner at The Mercury in Dallas was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and seated in the Wine Room—a beautifully designed space that exudes elegance while maintaining a cozy, inviting feel. The atmosphere had that classic old-school steakhouse charm, but everything was impeccably maintained and upscale. Our server, Taner, was the epitome of what high-end service should be. He was knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely invested in making our evening memorable. The entire staff was attentive without being overbearing, ensuring we had everything we needed at the perfect time. Now, onto the food—where do I even begin? As soon as we sat down, the bread service arrived, and it was excellent. We started with a few mocktails, which were refreshing and well-balanced. On Taner’s recommendation, we ordered the jumbo lump crab dip, and it was phenomenal—creamy, rich, and packed with sweet, tender crab meat, topped with crispy, buttery bread crumbs. We also had the yellowtail sashimi with ponzu sauce and jalapeño, which was incredibly fresh, slightly spicy, and perfectly balanced in flavor. For our entrées, we went with the filet mignon and the ribeye, both cooked to absolute perfection. To accompany them, we ordered the pomme frites, which were crisp and buttery, as well as the gnocchi with mushrooms, another standout recommendation from Taner that did not disappoint. To finish, we indulged in the 12-layer coconut cake, which was beyond incredible. The cake was moist and delicate, layered with the perfect amount of sweetness and complemented by a salted caramel drizzle and fresh fruit. It was one of those desserts you remember long after the meal is over. Every aspect of our experience was flawless—from the outstanding service to the impeccable food and well-maintained ambiance. The Mercury delivers a truly top-tier dining experience, and it’s clear that they take pride in every detail. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional meal in Dallas.

One of our favorite spots to get dinner on a date night. It is on the expensive side but food is phenomenal, wait staff is on top of it and friendly and the Chef even visited us and gave us some free sushi to try. We loved it and now we get it everything we go as our appetizer. Very well managed and maintained. Be sure to make reservations because same day can be a wait or no availability.

I can’t say enough great things about this restaurant ! The valet has been here for years and remembers your name. Our server Jimmy was amazing. He took excellent care of us. I feel like this place is a hidden gem, but it’s a fan favorite if the locals in Preston hollow and Highland Park Village.

Sushi good. Main dining too dark. Fish dishes excellent. Meats ok.
