About Steve Fields Steakhouse - steak house in Dallas, Texas
Esteemed steakhouse offering prime cuts & fine seafood in an elegant setting with a chic lounge.
Customer Review Summary
Steve Fields Steakhouse is an elegant and clean establishment with delicious food. The prime rib is a standout, described as tender and juicy, while other dishes like blackened jumbo shrimp pasta and fresh stone crab claws were also well-received. However, the blue crab and corn chowder soup was a miss due to its overwhelming sweetness and lack of crab flavor. The restaurant's interior decor was criticized for feeling stale and lacking energy, contrasting with its stunning exterior. Service was generally good, though some patrons suggested attention to detail could be improved, particularly from management. The steak was cooked perfectly, while side vegetables received mixed reviews. Several guests praised the value of the DFW Restaurant Week special and the impressive wine selection. The overall dining experience, especially for special occasions, was positive, making it a recommended choice for high-quality meals, though diners expressed preferences for other steakhouses in the area. Despite some ambiance and service concerns, most reviews highlighted the exceptional food and attentive staff.

Elegant and clean steakhouse. The prime rib, which I came for, was delicious, tender, and juicy! Their blackened jumbo shrimp pasta had both great pasta and great shrimp. I also appreciate their bread. It came with an olive oil Serrano pepper dip that was delicious with a little bit of kick. We also had their fresh stone crab claws, which were a nice addition. However I would say that stone crab doesn't really taste better than dungeness crab. Their only miss was the blue crab and corn chowder soup. The sweetness of it wasn't really necessary and you could almost not notice that there was crab in it.

Steve Fields Steakhouse is absolutely stunning on the outside, but lacks the same vibes on the inside. I visited on a Tuesday at 7:00pm, the restaurant had a total of five tables with patrons; I compare this to a place like Bob's who consistently is full every night. The decor inside felt stale, vapid, and low energy with all of the grey. The service was good. I think I pay too much attention to small things like clearing off wine glasses for those not drinking to free table space or clearing side dishes that were done being used. The manager was dressed nice but again little things like a fitted suit and dress shoes would be expected for someone leading a "fine dining experience". The food is what I expected, the steak was cooked properly, the vegetables were meh, and the lobster was tasty. I was not a fan of the manager shucking my lobster tail table side. It went a little wild as he was training a server in the process (could have gone over the process in the kitchen and not table side). Steve Fields has been well known in Plano before moving into the it's new location. I think the previous generation that enjoyed this restaurant made their way to the new location and it feels that way. The desire to pull in a younger, more affluent crowd is abundant but the execution isn't there. I still would prefer Bob's, Al's, or even Capital Grille before Steve Fields.

Cutting my ribeye was like cutting butter. It was phenomenal. We wanted a good steakhouse on our weekend trip to the area, and we found one. Perfection. I also appreciate that our waiter (Nathan) treated us like he had all the time in the world, even though we arrived 45 minutes before closing.

We went to celebrate our Anniversary. It was our first time here, and an amazing meal. Shrimp Cocktail Blue Crab and corn chowder Ceasar Salad Prime Rib Salmon Carrot cake Key Lime Pie All fantastic!! The Prime rib was one of the best I’ve ever had. The “DFW Restaurant Week” special for $59/person was a bargain for such a high quality place. Their “Wine Wall” is very impressive too. We will return for sure.

Five Stars all around! It is a beautiful restaurant, clean and nicely decorated. The service is prompt and accommodating. Food is amazing! I love how the food comes out very quickly. The price is not that bad for an upscale steakhouse. It was our first time there while visiting Dallas for a business meeting. We left very satisfied and totally pleased.

This is your go-to place for that special supper with friends and family. Ours was 51st wedding anniversary. Staff was very attentive and asked if we were there for any special occasion. Great service and meal. Plenty of food and great for leftovers. SHE who cashes my retirement check got a Pina Colada which comes with whip cream. That's something different. Be sure to make reservations. Also the east side of restaurant late in day is shaded and good place to park on hot summer days. This was first time at this location as we had been at the former location west of Preston Rd but torn down years ago.

My steak was like butter when it was cut. It was amazing. On our weekend excursion to the area, we sought an excellent steakhouse, and we found one. Perfect. Even though we arrived forty-five minutes before closing, our waiter Nathan treated us like he had all the time in the world, which is something else I love.

Went for my brother's birthday this last weekend. Greeted and seated promptly once we all arrived. I thought the wine menu was very fair in pricing, considering the type of restaurant this is. I did have a specific question about the wine that I was hoping to have answered by the in-house wine person (I can't remember if an actual sommelier was on site). Our waiter returned after speaking with said individual and provided a general statement that didn't really tell me anything, but I appreciated the guy for inquiring enthusiastically. No complaints around the table when our food came out, including three very picky ladies when it comes to the temp of their steak. Some of the best mushrooms I've had at a steakhouse. I don't know if I've ever experienced a "light" cake with chocolate and caramel, but these guys have it. Every staff member encountered was friendly AND sincere. Overall, everyone left happy, and I would come back for seconds. Atmosphere I marked as neutral only because my sister wasn't crazy about the lighting in some areas, but she's also a whiner, so there's that
