However, several dishes disappointed; crab cakes and stuffed flounder were noted for their lack of flavor. Chocolate chess cake was criticized for being dry. My overall experience was just okay - nothing exceptional, but nothing terrible either. The oysters were the highlight, very fresh and delicious! The Texas egg rolls were also quite flavorful. The clam chowder was ok after adding salt, pepper and hot sauce. However, my husband's crab cakes were disappointing - they lacked flavor and needed lemon, hot sauce, and tartar sauce to be enjoyable. My stuffed flounder and the coleslaw it came with were both bland. We also tried the chocolate chess cake, which was extremely dry. We probably should have gone with the Key lime pie instead. Our server, Kyle, was very nice and attentive, and the drinks were delicious. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if we'll return if we're back in the area. Corpus Christi as a whole hasn't impressed us much. It feels a bit run down and lacks atmosphere.

The restaurant location and layout is awesome. We got seated, and it took a while for a server to come take the drink order. Once we ordered, the drinks came quickly. The appetizer Texas southwestern egg rolls were great. The hush puppies were good, but they only had melted butter. We ordered salads with our meals, but the salads did not come when the meal came asked to cancel the salads, and she removed them from the ticket. The coconut shrimp is baked, not fried. My wife liked it a lot. I do not like seafood, so I got the country fried chicken with green beans and roasted potatoes, it was very good. I think the delay and a few other things like the salads make it not a win for me. Like sitting in the atmosphere and the scenery. The food was good. It is a must try but not a favorite.

A little pricey but worth the experience. We had our pre-christmas lunch here and it was my first time. The staff was welcoming, explaining everything in detail and the atmosphere was great! The food was fantastic and we'll definitely be back. I had the Parmesan Crusted Redfish with Laguna Shrimp Sauce, and for dessert the Fried Cheesecake, which is a Cheesecake wrapped in a cinnamon tortilla, fried and topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup.

A friend recommended we check Doc's out during our beach trip. We liked it so much! Raw Oysters were fresh and delicious. Steak and potatoes well seasoned. The atmosphere, people and view helped to kick off our vacation with good vibes. And to finish it wishing we lived closer to this place. With TVs throughout the bar, and a water station and spare bowls for your pets, we enjoyed the Sunday football game with our dog, and each other. Plenty of space. We are recommending this place and look forward to coming back!

We're new to this area. We took a day trip to Padre Island and decided to check out Docs. We loved it. The staff was great. Attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant. There was live music on a Sunday afternoon. Great beach music set The atmosphere. The dining area is large, wide open. They had the roll up doors open. The view looking over the sound towards the mainland was beautiful. We started out with beers from their decent menu. Dinner was great. We started with 1/2 dozen raw oysters on the half shell (one of our favorites). They were perfect. A little salty. A little muddy. I like cocktail sauce. Sharon likes lemon, horse radish on a saltine. I had blackened red fish with a guacamole and pico. Green beans and brown rice on the side. Sharon had the crab stuffed flounder, green beans and a salad. We grew up on the Gulf Coast. This is comfort food for us and Docs delivered.
