Customer Review Summary
Johnny's Italian Steakhouse offers a great happy hour deal ($20 per couple for unlimited appetizers) with well-presented and tasty food. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with decor that reflects a glamorous 50s vibe. Service is highlighted, particularly by Ms. Avis and bartender Nate, who have received praise for their friendliness and efficiency. However, some reviews note disappointment with long wait times for food and concerns over menu discrepancies, particularly regarding the steak nachos. The restaurant received mixed reviews on specific dishes; while many enjoyed the Bangin Shrimp and Steak Nachos, others found certain items like the hummus and pita lacking. Overall, diners appreciate the hospitality, the quality of the food, and many plan to return.

Great place with amazing happy hour deal ($20 per couple for unlimited appetizers). Food was great and well presented, the only thing I wish for is that they would have less deep fried items and more of grilled or fresh stuff. The atmosphere was great, the decor is very inviting and cozy, the overhead music matched the glam vibe of the 50-s era. Nate the bartender made excellent drinks, he was super efficient and very friendly. Excellent quick service

Im gone a lot with my job and had a date night with my wife. We came expecting a great experience and got so much more. Mrs. Avis was amazing, she has got to be one of the best managers/greeters…not sure what to call her cause she does everything, I’ve ever experienced. I’m a trucker and have eaten all over the country, she’s still at the top of the list. Dakota was an amazing server, paid attention to detail and made sure we were taken care of ever step of the way. Everyone was amazing at this place, but them 2 are definitely my favorite. Food was amazing so my hats off to the chef. We will definitely be coming back. But to Mrs. Avis thank you for making our date night dinner one we will never forget.

Seeing the special posted for unlimited apps at Johnny’s sounded too good to be true. So we wanted to try it. We were greeted by a friendly face, to which I did not get the young ladies name, but she was sweet. We wanted a booth but since we were there for the special, we’re informed that only happens in the bar area. To which none of the advertisements I read stated this. No problem, we sat at the bar. Greeted by Nate the bartender which told a funny story about his name tag then we proceeded to order to which he seemed upset that we were there for unlimited and makes a comment that “this is a lot of work for no money”. Not exactly sure what he meant by that however that’s where things went downhill. Got our drinks right away of course but waited almost 20 minutes for food and only received one thing we ordered. The couple next to us had their food delivered somewhere else so we wondered if that’s what happened with us. We inquired with Nate to which he said it should have come out but had not. Fine he goes to computer and puts the order in so we are thinking he maybe forgot, fine. Mrs. Avis came a few times to check on us as she was visiting all of the guests. She was the array of sunshine we needed in a bad situation. Waiting 40 minutes for food is insane. Especially when others coming in after us were getting their orders before us. We ordered the steak nachos, bangin shrimp, chicken sliders, and fish and chips. Our only disappointment with the food was one it took a while, but not sure if it was actually entered in the system. Two the steak nachos were described totally different and the steak was ice cold. We may give it another try and only because Mrs. Avis cared enough to hear our concerns with the visit and hopefully she was able to make some adjustments.

Ms. Avis was very friendly and sweet. Her reccomendations were great! Here is my ranking based off of what we ordered: pepperoni flat bread, pulled pork sliders, banging shrimp, loaded fries, steak nachos, and lastly the chicken sliders.

Happy hour at Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse - The Woodlands/Shenandoah. We gave the unlimited appetizer special a try. The bartender made excellent drinks and was spot on with service. If you’re getting drinks get the Sangria! We would highly recommend the Bangin Shrimp, Steak Nachos and the Fish n Chips, all of these were excellent. We also tried the Pulled Pork Silders and the Chicken Silders, both of these were average but the onion rings are worth a try. The Hummus and Pita was our least favorite and was barely edible, the pita was over cooked/hard and the hummus was bitter/funky.

Absolutely awesome restaurant! Mrs. Avis, Trey our waiter and the kitchen staff were beyond great! Great hospitality, executive chef introduced himself and made sure our food was up to standards. Me and my partner got the Calamari, Sirloin, Parmesan Crusted Ribeye, Chicken Parmesan, Fettuccine Minelli and Banana Cheesecake for dessert! Everything was really great quality! I got a Lola Martini, and as a light drinker it was perfect! Price range was worth the service and food! Would definitely recommend and will be going back! 10/10!

We were in town for a work trip and decided to check out the restaurant in our hotel. We were greeted by Ms. Avis and our server Nate, both very friendly and personable. The chef also stopped by the table to make sure everything was to our liking. I ordered the ribeye with the horseradish parmesan crust and my fiance ordered the steak diablo. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The home-made bread they offer the table was delicious and I had to keep myself from eating the entire loaf. I will definitely be back when I come back to this area.

Today was my first time at Johnny’s Steakhouse in Shenandoah. It’s located in the lobby of a newer hotel. It’s smaller but beautiful. The happy hour from 4:00-6:00 is perfect. You get $20 for two people all you can eat from the HH menu. Delicious! Ms. Avis was a wonderful host.
