About Conroe Lake House - steak house in Conroe, Texas
Customer Review Summary
Conroe Lake House is known for its scenic outdoor setting and relaxing atmosphere, especially during sunset. The food quality is mixed, with some dishes like burgers and fried seafood receiving positive feedback, while grilled items and salads faced criticism for being overcooked or incorrect. Service can be inattentive, with reports of servers forgetting items and not checking on guests regularly, although some servers are described as friendly and showing potential. Prices are considered high for the experience, and the value is often seen as based more on the view than the food. New management has been noted positively, with some diners expressing a desire to return and give it another chance, especially during lunch. Overall, the restaurant has the potential for a better experience with improvements in food preparation and service attentiveness.

It's good for a quick bite and a beer but for what it is I would say it's too expensive. For what is pictured with one soft drink and 4 beers it was $96 with tip. You are more paying for the view than the food . One big mistake that they make here is instead of putting the chicken on the bun and then the salad it's the other way around everytime which just leaves the bun at the bottom wet and soggy. If you do this atleast toast the bun. The service was fine enough but not as attentive as most would want. On the plus side the setting outdoors with the sunset is relaxing.

So I could definetly see this place having higher potential but I can only share based off last night's experience. We went here for my Brother's Birthday and the whole Family came out of town and this was supposed to be the best rated Seafood place in Conroe. The Atmosphere is stunning and I am sure it is really nice when they have live music. Outside seating is right on the water which is divine but there were a few hiccups that should be mentioned by the cooks and servers. The servers did not return to check on us to see if we needed more drinks. The servers did not see if we liked the food. The servers forgot items. The servers and cooks messed up my brothers very simple order. They remedied the issue by comping his meal and the girls were very young and nice but what really bothered me was that all the grilled seafood was overcooked and the Caeser salad was made incorrectly. Caeser Salad is supposed to have Anchovies and they make theirs with Bacon and don't even tell you of the change. Their Caeser Dressing isn't real Caeser Dressing and my Husband asked for Balsamic Vinegar and he received something else entirely as well. He also ordered some simple condiments that never came either. Now these servers were very sweet but clearly didn't have much work experience. My suggestion is for them to be provided with some training and better note taking skills to help them remember people's orders and requests. These girls have a lot of potential and I think would make great servers one day. I am willing to try this restaurant again in the future but I am hesitant because once you've had below average seafood once, you're reluctant to go out of your way to see if it will be better next time. I will say that there were no complaints about the burgers or fried seafood and the mozzarella sticks were great. I did notice that almost nobody ate their sides. So I do find that suspish and wonder if it was a quality issue and they were trying to be polite, because only one of us wanted to take any leftovers home. I think next time I want to come during lunch and not dinner and order something different and see if the experience can be better. Some people really just are great at cooking things they make all the time and will grilled items it takes only minutes to ruin them. I also recommend if you are going to serve some drinks in giant cups, you should have straws that are the correct size. I had to double a straw and the rest of the family felt awkward about digging their hands in the drink trying to dig the straws out that were less than a half inch from the bottom. I think this place really could be a 4-5 star experience, it just needs a few minor improvements.

We didn't have big expectations of this place due to the old reviews. But this place truly surpassed our expectations. We came on NYE with our kid and baby to get some fresh air on a sunny day. Love the restaurant for the play area for kids and we loved the dock area where you can walk over to the tikki hut. Food was excellent. We had a range of food, from the Lakehouse Bloody Mary, fried appetizers, to grilled entrees. Everything tasted fresh and from a foodie's perspective, food was cooked perfectly. Fresh seafood and perfectly grilled shrimp. Adela, our waitress was extremely attentive, friendly and patient. Megan (I believe the manager) stopped by to check on us too. We saw the sign that the place is under new management. Hats off to the team! WE WILL BE BACK! 😍

Hardly anyone was there but that was probably because it was the day after the freeze, not a lot of variety. I ate the spinach, chicken Caesar wrap. VERY GOOD! Highly recommend! Nice place, great services.

Nice place. Lake views. Inside & outside dining. Cold drinks. Live music. The food was good. Catfish was battered well and was crispy. The shrimp were large and very good. The wife had the grilled shrimp taco's and loved them, but the tortilla chips that came on the side not so much. Cold and not crispy. Come by car or boat. The parking lot is all dirt. Just fyi.

Its a great place, outside must be nice in the evenings. We were there for lunch on Saturday and we were unlucky to have extremely loud tables around us. I understand the environment is casual but there should be a consideration to others. Not sure how much the restaurant management could do, but i have had situations myself where we were asked to tone down a little bit. Hence my low score on service.

Crawfish was 7/10, my daughter enjoy her grilled cheese and the beer was ice cold, but Kaylee or kaylie I'm not sure the spelling, she was fantastic, very attentive, took care of our every need, without hesitation, and without being asked she made sure we were good on drinks at all times. 10/10 WILL COME BACK BECAUSE OF HER!
